- The Jazz Master, Benny Golson left us on September 21, 2024 at the age of 95. He left a legacy of brilliant composition for which we are forever grateful. In this video tribute I chose 5 of his most beloved melodies.
I used to take lessons in a building he lived in nyc. He’d come down and hang a little. The guy was forever young hearted, jovial and kind. No wonder his sound and tunes were so beautiful!
Truly one of the most underrated saxophonist of all time. He’s the main reason I play the saxophone and jazz 🕊️
Thank you for this !! 👍
Benny was one of the good ones.🎷
RIP Benny Golson👏
A legend. He will be greatly missed. Thank you Jay.
A beautiful guy. Great legacy.
What a nice tribute. What a talent. RIP. Thank you for spreading such joy.
He made a great contribution to the art form ...jazz!
lived a good life rip benny golson very smooth sound
He was one of the great ones. Dedicating his life to his craft and his art.
With Benny gone now Sonny is the last one remaining with us from the Great Day in Harlem photo. I've always treasured Benny's sound on the tenor since it has such a pure quality to it.
RIP Master
Great tribute Jay!
Nice touch jay,,another great has left us sadly...
Thank you. Very moving especially the last video.
Confirmated, the jazzman can live 100 years. All your videos have to begin with that music videos. Is the essence.
Benny Golsons cameo in the jazz club in The Terminal is class!
Good night, Bennie. ❤ And thank you. Not just a wonderful musician and composer, but a classy gentleman. Glad you had such a long life.
Yeah Jay!
I’ll be playing “Whisper Not” with a slightly different feel for the foreseeable. The Big Band in the sky will be welcoming Benny with open arms 🤗🎼🎷🎶🎵
🙏🏽🕊️
R.I.P 🎷 🎵
My personal jazz collection would certainly be even less complete without the contributions from Benny and his presence within it ..😉👨🏻
He was the guy that i came to know through lee Morgan. He played Stella by starlight the best of all in my opinion. May he rest in peace
I Remember clifford is his best composition in my opinion. Lee Morgan knocks it out of the park.
I think he never sounded better than on the recording of his "sock cha cha"
Κρίμα.
