      I take it you don't know about Mitch Miller.. lol He had a tv show that come on every week. They would sing songs, and at the bottom of the tv screen they would have the lyrics, with the bouncing ball to tell you when to sing it, just like on this video.
      The name of the program was "Sing Along With Mitch".
      This medley is done in that style, hence.........

      When I was a kid in the 1970's. I would take my mom's sing along with Mitch Miller record albums. They had a book with all the song lyrics.

      The character played by Rusty Keller in an episode of The Waltons (1976) and James at 16 (1978) is the redhead in the M. C. Congregation; the resemblance (facial features, hair and build) between the two is stunning. Unfortunately, I haven't found out anything else about Rusty since those appearances, and it's been over 40 years. Such a talented kid, it's surprising (and a shame) he didn't continue performing and making a name for himself. Lastly w/r/t the rumor of his getting killed at McDonalds 10 years after the M. C. Congregation performances, that would have occurred in the early to mid 1980s, which is well past The Waltons and James at 16 episodes. Maybe, with luck, we'll find out more about what happened with this guy.

    What are the members names?

    • @haletow
      @haletow Год назад +2

      The four children are Teresa Jaw, she's the Asian American girl in the group and she's from Hong Kong and has some credits in Andy Griffith and another show. Patti Cahoon is the blonde girl with acting credits. Rusty Keller is the red-headed boy and has acting credits. And Harry Blackstone 3 is the dark-haired boy, who died in a tragic accident at work in Santa Rosa, California. And he is also the son of the famous magician with the same name. Harry was also a magician like his father. And is buried by his father in a cemetery for magicians in Michigan. He was 25 or 26 at the time of his death. But, as other threads have said, his memory will live on in these great music videos where he's seen happily performing. I don't know the names of the others. But, the four kids were easy to identify because there are only four of them.

      @@haletow Seemed like Rusty was always upstaging Harry, and literally pushing him and in one video it looks like he elbowed him in the head. I have been trying to identify the tall asian looking guy with the long hair. I am sure I have seen him in some other TV show. It is weird how it is so difficult to find out who these people are. They were on a TV show, did it not have credits running at the end? Probably they just listed them as "The Mike Curb Congregation". Of all the performers, I think the tall asian maybe hispanic guy with the long hair was the most talented performer. He moved perfectly, never looking awkward, never looking like he was having a seizure like a few of them did by overdoing it. He often wore a 2 foot long tassle on his hip to accent his movements.

    • @haletow
      @haletow Год назад

      Yeah, it does look like Harry and Rusty had a rivalry. And it does look like Rusty was pushing Harry around in that video. But, it also looks like Harry went for Rusty's solar plexus with his elbow. Whatever the story, the two must have been good friends. Because they both appeared in the TV show, James at 16. They must have tried out together. Harry has a non-speaking part, so he's not credited. He's sitting with teens at a table. Rusty is credited and has a speaking part. He's talking to the character, James by the kitchen sink. The TV show is on RUclips. And both boys as teens can be seen in episode 16, the first season of James at 16. As for the remainder of the cast. It is hard to get the names but not impossible. The Wrecking Crew has a page devoted to the Mike Curb Congregation on Facebook. It's hard to find. But, if you find it. Bookmark it. They list everyone by name in the group. Unfortunately, they can't place the names on a face. As for the Hispanic gentleman, he's sometimes described as a Native American or a white person, someone posted in one of the threads that he is now a hypnotherapist. A lot of actors and performers were not credited before the 1990s. Especially if they were dancers, and singers, like in the Mike Curb Congregation. A lot of fans are trying to identify them. But, it's not easy.
