For Willie Scott, you could also use a red hand and gold hand for the gloves she wore, a red hand you see in a million places and a gold hand from an Iron Man figure

He was supposed to be at the wedding at the end of The Crystal Skull, along with a few more friends of Indy, like his dad, and Willie, and Sallah, and Jock, but that idea was unfortunately scrapped.
In my opinion, the only way to upgrade the Short Round minifigure is to replace the legs with some light grey midlegs. Changing the face isn’t really necessary
