I'm reading Isaiah chapter 53 as you speak about it. Takes on a new meaning. Peter and his wife having marital issues and Peter having issues with Jesus had me so distressed, I don't know how I'm going to get thru all of season 5 !!!!!!! On another note, as I'm reading Isaiah 53, I'm here thinking,no one has to go to hell! Jesus paid it all. That's the good news of the gospel. I pray for the salvation of the people in the world!!!! Please people, accept Jesus sacrifice, save yourself from hellfire! He loves you! Look at what he did😢😭. Season 6 is gonna be brutal.

I just reread chapter 53 and wow. I’m not a scholar by any means. This episode scene really is cool to see. It helps this chapter in my mind. This is one reason I love the chosen it gives me a visual of the words of the Bible. I do take the scenes and try to see what the Bible says. I will say the chosen has done a great job doing what, what they set out to do.

Lazarus 'knew' who Jesus was but it probably was really hard to believe that your friend since childhood was both God and mortal man even though you knew the prophecy and saw the signs. It would be a helpless feeling that even if you could help him avoid the cross you didn't dare interfere. It would be heartbreaking! May God bless you many, many times today!

Since The Chosen has unlocked what time has closed off to us from the time of Jesus, the Bible isn't just a lot of ancient stories.

'They were just words in a scroll..." I feel the same way. I dread the episodes which will cover the crucifixion after so many hours of seeing Jesus portrayed in such a wonderful manner. It makes it more real. The series is not the Bible, but it encourages people to look into the Bible.....I really enjoy this series.

Jesus was the very first to be "resurrected". He was immortal after being resurrected and He and others that were resurrected after him will never die again. Lazarus, Jairus's daughter and others were raised from the dead and still mortal and would die again. There is a difference between resurrection and raised from the dead.

Never even thought of that…that’s quite an important distinction.
I'm sure we'll wonder when we look back from eternity once what's written about the end times has happened why we couldn't see and understand it. However things are always clearer with hind sight. Plus I think both the suffering of the Messiah and any struggles involved in the end times are things that make us like Lazarus here, we don't always want to see the difficult stuff.
Help us Lord to understand your truth even when it's difficult and hard. Because it's what God knows needs to happen for the joy and eternal life that comes after. I know I so often struggle with these things in the realities of my life.
Seeing 7-8 tonight! Can’t wait-but can’t forget my tissues this time and have to use my jacket as a tissue again 😅
With you playing the scene so slow and pausing it, I just have to praise the lighting in this scene and how it complements the acting. It's so subtle but when Jesus looks up directly at Lazarus you see the reflection of candles in his eyes and it makes me think of how people are described when they're on a mission as having "fire in their eyes".
Brandon you do the reviews of the scenes so very well. I haven’t seen season 4 at all but I am excited for it to come to the app so I can watch at home. It’s heartbreaking to think of Jesus’ suffering, but that’s what happened. We are saved because of this. I pray you continue enlightening us with the recaps of the Chosen. You are awesome at it. 😊

This is it. This conversation whether Biblical or not....this says all of it. How could they not know who He was? They read the prophecy, wouldve known what it said. When Rabbi is seated in front of you saying its time. I think my heart would be broken for our Lord. Of course, I exist in a very different time. I can look backward and have the joy filled ending. His first century followers were not that lucky. 😢✝️

Just got back from the theater. Episode 7 packs a punch. Many emotional moments. Episode 8 didn’t get me as emotional, but it did have moments. Might go back again Saturday to take it all in, with detail.

The saddest thing to me about Lazarus death and rise healing…..is we do not hear him say if he was in heaven (as many have upon supposed return from death) for the four days. That would have put all things to rest of if we go immediately to heaven or upon death or not awaiting return of Christ.

@@donnanunes8443 agreed for most part…..as even the criminal on the cross next to Jesus…..Jesus told him he would be in paradise today, but still would have appreciated Lazarus’s recalling where he was for those 4 days as surprised no one asked or he did not say.

I believe Season 5 will include Holy week where Jesus goes to Jerusalem worh His triumphant entry then Season 6 will be a movie involving the crucifixion

The reason why they wanted to kill Lazarus was because he wad definite proof of Jesus being who He said He was. Jews at the time believed that a dead person's soul lingered around the body for 3 days before descending into the sheol, effectively making it impossible to be raised to life again any later than that. By doing so, Jesus showed He had power over the sheol, which was an attribute Jews expected only the Messiah to possess.

Jesus was the FIRST to be resurrected of all men. Lazarus was only brought to life by the power of Jesus’ command. Lazarus eventually died again for he was mortal.
