When Quintus was telling Gaius to kill Jesus etc…and Gaias openly says “NO” more than once - each time he said NO I found myself yelling “YEAH” out loud. That right there really got me going.
Except Quintus told Guias to ARREST Jesus, not kill him. But, yeah! I was cheering, too! 👍
Like John The Baptist when Jesus cast out the demons in Caleb in Season 2???
Whippie do for u
@@BillieArdhaha, I bet SOME people did!
That was awesome. And, I honestly thought for a moment that Julius was also going to resist and stand by his side because he hesitated to arrest Gaius. But nope, I guess it was more of a "Oh come on man, I like working with you, don't make me arrest you! Ughh"
Anybody else think Jesus standing up to the Pharisees is what gave Gaius the strength to stand up to Quintus?
Great point.
I like that.
Absolutely, that and his budding, new found faith put into question by Atticus!🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Yea, absolutely
I think it was a combination of two things. Mostly because of his sick son and his growing belief that Jesus is who he says he is, so when push came to shove, and his being backed into a corner, he just wouldn't do it. I think to a lesser extent the fact that Atticus was on his side, and had basically hinted that he would back Gaius against Quintus...that Quintus would be removed, thus getting rid of one of his issues. But mostly because he had converted in his heart and believed that the Jewish God WAS God.
I think it's important to remember that not everyone who prays for healing or begs for the life of a loved one gets a miracle. Jesus/God is not a genie granting wishes. He doesn't promise we won't have sorrow ... just that he will be there with us.
the fictionalized Peter storyline with the miscarriage already emphasized that.
Asking Jesus to heal/ raise Remah was hardly a genie request. When he was incarnate, Jesus healed all who came to him. Also, John 21:25 clearly states that Jesus did so many more signs and miracles than were recorded because there wouldn’t be enough books to contain them. This scene was more about artistic fiction with the writer of the scene deciding for himself what Jesus would do based on his own faith and knowledge of scripture. They blew this big time.
My sweet husband died of cancer in 2021. We both love the Lord and prayed every day (sometimes begging and crying) for physical healing. I did not understand why he was not healed and blamed God for a very long time. It took a while to accept his death as part of His plan. Jesus was so gracious to me during this time. He never left me. I still grieve and miss him, but I know my Kevin is with Jesus now, and in a MUCH better place. I am grateful for that and I will see him again one day.✝️❤️👸
I think that was shown with little James not being healed, or bigger yet, Simon losing a child in the previous season.
I thought he went back to heal her, but then I remembered, there aren’t any stories of Jesus healing a sword wound of a woman, which meant He wouldn’t be doing anything miraculous.
John says He healed a whole lot more than could ever be written down, so this was total bull sh#t!!
Hey I'm a Catholic, I watched this last night and was shaking with the intensity. I know The Chosen tries to touch everyone with personal experiences. I felt this scene so hard. My mom passed away when I was 8 and I understand this suffering. I understand turning to God and asking why. I understand trying to come to terms with God's will. So I really liked this episode.
Remember that even God's Son died, that your mom can see you again. ❤🩹❤🩹
Families can be together forever, through our Father’s plan, and thanks to the glorious atonement and resurrection of His son Jesus Christ. Remember faith, repentance, baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Hey love. I’m also a Catholic Christian and I lost my mom 3 years ago at 21. Sending you so much love. Remember God understands the pain ❤ he too was human and felt grief.
I believe prayers are answered just not always as we expect and definitely not in our timing!
Yes, no, or wait…..
This actually makes complete sense. It's common to kill a main character on a TV show for drama and shock value. Since they couldn't kill the disciples they made up a character. I think Jesus was perfectly empathetic. The fact is that he didn't heal or raise every person from the dead. But he still showed compassion
The fact that He downright told Thomas He loves him is the thing that made me feel Jesus being Jesus... loving and sympathetic...
@@TheeTSCJesus “I love you!”
Thomas “she’s literally bleeding out in front of us it’s quite painful and sadistic can you do something?”
Jesus “have I told you I loved you?”

Thomas “but aren’t you god?”
Jesus “yes”
Thomas “and you wish you could save her?”
Jesus “yes, but that is not gods will”
Thomas “aren’t you god tho?”

Jesus: I'm so sorry Thomas. I love you. God loves you

Something about this doesn’t sit right with my spirit.
I think one must be super careful coming up with theology to explain what we may see in our life but that we don’t see in the life of Jesus.
While I agree that suffering is a reality we will face, even Jesus says, “In this world you will have trouble” this episode portrays a present Jesus who stands by and does nothing. Whereas in scripture “Jesus healed them all” this is the common theme we see in the gospels and it is the only response we see coming from Him towards those suffering that He met. That is except when the attitude and unbelief from people of his hometown resulted in Him “not doing MANY miracles there” in that case it was the attitude of the people creating an atmosphere where the miraculous did not flow easy, but even then it didn’t stop it completely.
I can’t think of a single time when Jesus didn’t step in for those who desperately sought Him and many who didn’t.
I would rather have unanswered questions about suffering on this earth than to conclude that the presence of Jesus will result in anything less than glory light and life.
Lastly, if this lack of response from Jesus to our suffering were true why does the Bible stay silent? Why is there not even one account that speaks in this regard? Surely if such a situation of standing by and allowing suffering, in His very presence, ever happened, especially when His followers were desperately believing, the biblical record would reveal it even a minor mention. It doesn’t.
I think we just have to be very careful the conclusions we come to and Jesus we portray!
❤

I know Dallas has a plan. He said it himself, that he's been planning this since the beginning. Let's wait until it's all said and done...😂

Matthew 27:52 🙏
In the aftershow "Ramah" the actor cried too watching the scene. I think she's going to miss being there as well.
@Like_An_Eagle Raised from the dead right? That's what I was hoping but based on scripture Thomas is adamant and unequivocal in his unbelief so there's no hope there 😢
When Ramah says "I don't know what to say" and Thomas says "so don't," it goes back to the wedding at Cana when he says "I don't know what to think," and she says "so don't."
Brilliant observation-a book end, a way to tie up the loose ends and bring things full circle. Brilliant writing
Thank you for bringing that back to my remembrance!
I am excited to see how Thomas is treated in future episodes. Thomas touching Ramah's wound seems to foreshadow when Thomas touches Jesus' wound after His Resurrection. It will come full circle and it will be beautiful.
Ooh i didn't connect touching the wound! Thanks for noting that :)
Wow! I didn't make that connection! Good catch! 👍
Brilliant
Hmmm. I didn't think of that parallel but I think it's possible.
Though, I hope the chosen actually makes Thomas touch him. It's a nitpick that's always bugged me with other live action bible shows, Thomas says he wants to touch the wounds and put his fingers in them, but then as soon as Jesus shows them to him, he just falls or responds my lord my God before he's able to out his finger in.
And yeah I know that might be difficult to film and show on screen since the Jesus actors don't have actual holes in their hands, but I've always imagined Thomas doing it and I'd like to see a portrayal where Thomas actually does what he said he wanted to do to believe.
maybe, but scientifically, you should put pressure on a wound so maybe he was just putting pressure on it
This episode should remind people that JESUS did not come down to Earth to stop death and not all prayers are answered and that's the way God designed it. We have to accept death as part of our life. Even JESUS died, and WE WILL ALL HAVE OUR TIME LATER come resurrection time.
So gods not all powerful or benevolent gotcha

I had a HARD time wrapping my mind around Jesus reaction to Thomas asking for the healing of Ramah. My heart was broken for Thomas and I felt so much pain I sobbed like a baby. NO OTHER SHOW has ever BROKEN me this strongly. I won't stop watching, but I feel like I need a breather! IT IS A PHYSICAL HURT!!!
Sorry beloved
Bad things happen to good people innocent people get killed for no good reason it never feels right or fair we just have to trust him because that s all there is
James asked about being healed as well and was denied, God sometimes has different missions and I can only imagine Thomas reacting to Jesus being Lazarus back from death
Dallas had a team member who felt the same way saying to him "that's not my Jesus." She felt Jesus's arms around her when her mother died.
Dallas agreed saying "That wasn't her Jesus, it was Thomas's Jesus. Thomas would have thrown off a hug...he didn't want to be touched. Jesus knew that but even still he was there."
Of course that is paraphrased but it's idea that apart from not healing Rhama, Jesus is the Jesus he needs him to be at this point of his grief.
Episode 4 will help you process it
Raimah was my favorite character. She was smart strong and yet humble. Gonna miss her.
It also ties in with James and John where they thought anything you ask Jesus will give and yet here James ask and Jesus didn't
Here's an idea: Atticus told Gaius that either Quintus would lose everything or Gaius would. Killing Raimah PROBABLY ensures it's Quintus that loses. So...this is arguably an instance of "What you meant for Evil, God meant for Good." Thus, alas, Ramah was meant to die...as the catalyst for change.
Oh man, good point to show God's sovereignty

You forget...we all know (or SHOULD know) that Jesus exists...so he is real! He is not a character like Superman etc...but He is the Son of God and He is REAL. So watching this like its just another show seems almost blasphemous. We are invested in these characters...Simon Peter, Andrew, James, John...etc, because when we get called to heaven we will LIVE there with THEM!! I want to meet Ruth...from the Old Testament. I want to ask what made her want to stay with Naomi so badly that she would leave her own people and move to another town she had never visited before. Her love for her mother-in-law has always impressed me. I will also like to meet the Mother of Moses. I want to know what she thought when she put her little baby, Moses, in that basket and set it in the Nile river. She had to have had great trust in the Lord God to do that!
@@BillieArd of course Jesus is real, but many people forget - including you, I assume - that the Chosen is not the word of God. Jesus IS. The Chosen is not Scriptures. That’s all I am saying. There is nothing blasphemous about that.
@@lampsaltlight May I remind you that the major accusation against Jesus (while on earth teaching as a "man") was BLASPHEMY, because he called himself the "Son Of GOD!" The Pharisees accused him of NOT quoting from the Torah...etc. They did it again and again...even when he healed others in front of their eyes. I started out thinking the way you did...without even watching the program. I soon discovered that I had been hasty in my judgment against it.
I only recently become familiar with this show...just last Summer of 2023. I caught an episode on CW. I had not watched it before...due to several (so-called) Christian youtubers calling it a show about Mormonism etc.
Then I found out that the 1st season was filmed in North Texas..near some of my family. We visited the Studio last November (located in Peaster, TX). I suddenly realized I had made a judgment call on this program without any investigation...and had judged it, because I trusted in my fellow Christians to be correct in their verdict. I was upset that I had not looked into it on my own...but trusted in a few naysayers. Sort of like how I had the wool pulled over my eyes by Robert Morris. Being from the DFW area...he is well known in TX. Unfortunately...he is another Christian...who I had put faith in and believed he was a good example of a Christian leader. I was wrong about him also!

Perhaps Matthew was more instrumental in Quintas' success than we realized.
GRIEF AND LOSS IS THE BIGGEST LIFE LESSON FOR EVERYONE TO LEARN FROM - THAT GOD seems "wrong" - is coming from the Carnal mind. It is connected to idolatry - remember YAHSHUA SAYS TO LOVE HIM MORE than a wife, a husband, a child, a mom, a dad etc....why DOES GOD SAY THIS? Because we are not to covet, not to love another human being more than GOD - there is always a lesson of LET GO, AND LET GOD! I say this; because I too am learning about it personally.
We lost our baby, a still birth this last December, it was the hardest thing me and my wife have ever dealt with but Yeshua helped us through it. We are currently 14 weeks pregnant with a little boy and I just pay that if it is Adonai's will he will be healthy and safe. Tonight though we have a cat who got really ill out of no where, my Son's cat actually and we are both a complete mess about it. I'm praying the Lord will allow us to get her to the vet in the morning
They don’t need to fix this .
This is the 1st century where people were getting brutally killed or died from diseases.
Ramah dying shows that nobody is safe and gives the show some realism untill the crucifixion comes …
You are absolutely right.
JOHN 18,9
yes that time was so cruel
God is good... ALL the time.... And all the time God is GOOD!
@@Tony-ci7ys And that was covered. John the Baptist's death showed this verse did not apply to all of Jesus' followers. It was referring to the 12. Even if they'd gotten that detail wrong, that's not blasphemy. That's not what blasphemy is. You misuse that word and that is actually a problem. Blasphemy is 1 of 2 things: insulting or mocking God (this doesn't even come close to that) or claiming to be God (this also doesn't claim that, and Dallas is very clear the Chosen is not Scripture and directs people to read scripture for themselves).
OK. THIS is the last thing I say to you.
We have all been touched by death in some form, and after all the death I have had in the last few years this honestly reminded me of how even though there is death, and things happen in a way without reason, God is still loving and good. In this episode he had the crowd demanding more moracles, and he said "it does not work that way". She knew at the end what mattered more than her being with Thomas was Thomas following Jesus. I feel it would be wrong for Jesus to being her back because it would not only change Jesus affect on people and what He came to do, but also us as viewers as well. It may be a show with fictional characters included, but looking at the comments, it has become personal for many.
They don't need to fix this. Actions have consequences. Thomas told Ramah it wasn't safe to be there, but she still stayed. Atticus told Gaius to get Quintus and give him a message; Gaius sent someone else. Gaius stood up to Quintus and got arrested Jesus got away and Quintus was raring for a fight. Tragedy happens, and the viewers are reminded that those were dangerous times and that we need Jesus, as the people back then did.
Remember in the previous episode, Jesus said He was here with a sword to divide? And specifically used Ramah and her father as an example? Quintus's sword was used to divide. You'll see.
Who else kept coughing & saying “Peter” whenever he kept saying Simon like the characters kept doing whenever they kept calling him by his old name 😂😂😂
Just great acting in a great series. The writing in this series has gotten better and better. What an incredible series.
I appreciate your dedication to explaining each episode and going through various scenes. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us, for both the biblical and non-biblical parts of The Chosen. You are truly a very helpful and insightful Commentator. Thank you and God Bless you!!! 😊🙏
they apparently didnt watch the begining with david. its self explained. same response with little james he could heal him.
It's a wonderful show. It will get people looking to the bible, Asking questions, getting some answers. We can't know all that Jesus is thinking, or when he will come back for us, He doesn't even know. BUT GOD !
Regarding the "learning the sermon", a read I have on it is it's more that he's training Matthew. That's a common training tactic, to have the person you're training "help you" do something you need no help doing.
Japan still uses abacuses. It's one of those traditional skills like tea ceremonies that kids sometimes learn in school or cram schools to become more traditional... connected with history. And some of them are so fast with them that they can do a lot of things faster than people with calculators.
The mini "great resurrection" after the crucifixion is a possibility for Ramah. I know they're not doing all of the big stories, but that is such a cool one I've never seen in any bible media, it would be great to see finally.
I thank you and Dallas Jenkins for the amazing explanation. I, too, was shocked for a few seconds but reminded myself that it's a tv series, NOT THE BIBLE.
My God, my Jesus, my Holy Spirit sometimes says NO, and that's hard to deal with. As believers, it's hard to accept tragedies, but they do happen, and as humans, we need help. So THANK YOU that we are addressing this issue.
This sense right here show how we should court on purpose and having boundaries.
This serves to make Thomas doubt that anyone can be brought back to life because he didn't know about Jairus' daughter.
I think this is very interesting and will play into Thomas' doubts. I will keep watching to see what happens...
Even as a Catholic, I've always defended the Chosen for their creative liberties from the attacks of others, some of whom are Catholic, but I cannot defend this episode. Nope! This was incredibly in bad taste, not because Rama died but the way these people seem to just casually project their own very flawed character traits onto Christ.
I can defend Jesus choosing not to heal Rama (perhaps), but I cannot defend him standing there watching her die from a distance and not even giving her a single word of comfort as she died, not kneeling over her, closing her eyes, praying for her as she transitioned to the other world, assuring her that he would make all things well and this was not the end, and kissing her forehead as she died. He. Was. Her. Rabbi!!!!!!!
If he had prayed then opened his eyes after getting the "Not this time" from his Father, then comforted her this way, it'd be sad but still in keeping with his character. But the way they did it feels like a Hollywood gimmick for shock value. Heck, even our flawed, sinful priests know how to comfort a dying person better than the Chosen's Jesus did in this episode! Did Jesus behave like Rama's spiritual Father or even her Rabbi in this episode? Nope.
Think of Aragon comforting Boromir as he died after sacrificing his life to save the hobbits at the end of the Fellowship of the Rings. That's how a good and holy person treats a dying person. They don't stand at a distance and watch them go as if they're a stranger watching the scene of an accident by the side of the road. The Chosen had Our beloved beautiful Lord behaving like the Priest and pharisee he warned about in his parable of the Good Samaritan instead of like the Good Samaritan, and this with his own dying disciple! Not even a stranger beaten by thieves on the road. Honestly, shame on them!
They injected their own character flaws onto Jesus in this episode and had him acting in a way contrary to how the Bible and even their own show has portrayed him. Rama was his disciple! She left her own Father and everything to follow him and he became her spiritual Father, killed basically for him in this episode, and yet he reacts worse than even a basic friend would react.
I'm not angry about her death. I'm angry about the gimmicky nonsense they seem to be getting up to with Jesus' character. What Priest did they consult for this episode? They claim they consult theologians, pastors, and priests. All I can say is if the Priest okayed this episode, knowing the work priests regularly do with the dying in hospitals and other places, shame on him, too!
Dallas doesn't care really what you think...you saw how impertinent and bothered he got with the first question. Typical Dallas!!!
Remember it's just a tv show, not a ministry-- per Dallas himself.....
Lolol it’s a tv show
@@TurkeyCreekjackjohnson_ If someone made a movie misrepresenting your mother or your wife or your daughter would you throw your hands in the air and say, "No biggie, it's just a movie. Lie about my mother/wife/daughter because it's just entertainment" ???
I think a big message to learn from this is that no matter what happens in our life with troubling times, the lord does not want us to lose our faith, with our strong faith, it will allow us to gain so much more overweighing the pain we experience on earth, and through the Lords will these tests we receive on earth can show us how strong our faith is, NEVER LOSE YOUR FAITH, HE IS ALWAYS WITH YOU!
Man, I was fearing for the poor dog the whole time.
I don’t mind them killing off Ramah. But, from an artistic perspective it doesn’t work in this scene. The writers could have had her killed by thieves as she left her house. She could’ve died in an accident aka natural disaster. Killing Ramah in this episode takes away from the epicness of Jesus telling off the Pharisees.
I agree---it was forced and not well integrated into the story.
I just didn't like the scene, it just didn't make sense to me. Thomas seemed to drag her into danger. Never walk towards and disrespect the guy with a big sword. Not sticking up for Quintus, but this scene shows Thomas ignoring and pushing him aside with his shoulder. Who would do that?
@@cielitagarcia6489 True but Thomas didn’t seem too “aware” so this scene seems plausible
Had this not happened, Gaius and the other soldiers would still have had to suffer under Quintus’s merciless and cruel reign.
Just to be clear on one thing, the many Saints who were raised from the dead, weren’t resurrected at the time of Jesus’s death, but AFTER His resurrection. Jesus was the first to be resurrected to a perfect immortal body (Lazarus’s rose to his mortal body, and would still die again. His resurrection would also come later). Jesus broke the bands of death Himself and this unlocked the door for all to be resurrected. He was the first.
Gaius's story is the perfect example of God punishing us and challenging us before rewarding us!
The people who are upset are the ones who are looking at this show like it's their Bible. Go read your Bible, people. And you can come enjoy this show like you're meant to, as a dramatized, often fictionalized retelling.
Not necessarily. It's a drama that people are vested in. People are upset because this is a real life connection for those of us who have lost a loved one that Jesus did not heal. It hits in the heart.
I understand it is a TV series. And I knew characters had to be portrayed. I was hesitant on a few other scenes that went off script and then when I saw this one I knew it was going to bring confusion to those who don’t understand Scripture.
For instance, when I was in the theatre and watched season 4, this episode 3, a man next to me was not a believer or Bible reader. He asked his friend next to him if this was in the Bible. His friends said pick up a Bible and read it to find out. Now if people who don’t know Scripture encounter people with comments like that, they are not conveying a good message. The Bible purposely says do not add or take away one Word of the Scriptures. Deuteronomy 4:2, Deuteronomy 12:32, Proverbs 30:6, Jeremiah 26:2, Ecclesiastes 3:14, Revelation 22:18-19, and others.
Whether we read the scriptures or we have it visually given to us is a Big Deal. Will I keep watching it for now, I haven’t decided yet, I am very hesitant and disappointed, especially after what I encountered in the Theater. I am sure Dallas has a plan, but confusing non believers is not what God requests. God is Judge over all and this will be between Dallas and our Lord.
@@teresalangford5766 It seems like you missed your opportunity to Evangelize.
What if Quintus gets demoted to centurion and HE'S the one by Jesus's cross and Quintus sees Ramah, which makes him realize the truth about Jesus?!
We in my bible study think the same.
How I see this scene is that God gave everyone agency. How can there be a God if there is no consequences to our agency? Quintus chose to lose control, to lash out. It’s difficult to accept, but it’s very good at showing us that just because God came doesn’t mean all sorrows are taken away. They are what test and prove us the most.
I've seen this in theaters and again now, and it gives no glory to God. I've listened to all the 'explanations.' Roman's 3:4 Let God be true and everyman a liar. If someone in your life wasn't healed, it doesn't mean that God didn't want to heal them. I pray this doesn't draw people away from our merciful, compassionate savior who even promised a thief on a cross, forgiveness, deliverance, healing, and new life that very day.
Of course if God didn’t heal someone in your life it means He didn’t want/need to heal them but you forgot the most important part…the WHY….why would God choose to not heal someone? Could there be a greater plan? Could there be a greater lesson God needs to instill on those left behind? We on earth are emotional, sinful beings. We NEVER see the forest for the trees. We become so engrossed in our own pain that we forget that God has a greater plan than this putrid planet we humans have created. He knows, as well as you should know, it is more merciful to bring us to His kingdom than let us continue to struggle and suffer on this earth. Timing is everything. It wasn’t Ramah’s time. That should never be questioned. Your time will be your time and nothing can or will stop that.
Sorry you feel that way.
We all wanted Ramah to live, but Thomas had to go through something to be the disciple he needed to be at the end. They all went through a process, First Simon (Zek), Matthew, then Peter, now Thomas. James and John, at the end! Great movie.
I like how they arrested the pharisees .😅 i think Rama was killed both for becoming doubting Thomas an because it doesnt say Thomas is married in the bible.
Although this is not in the Bible, in this episode, God did not orchestrate Raimah’s death, but allowed it. Remember Jesus called all the apostles to himself for the purpose of teaching them and charging them with spreading the gospel. Jesus stated he is running out of time or his time was limited. The apostles need to focus on Jesus’s teachings and ministry. Thomas kept focusing on his relationship with Raimah, which is a distraction. In the previous episode, while mourning John the Baptist’s death, Jesus reminded them they must put Him first, before any other relationships, including family relationships and this will cause division. If Thomas remained focused on his betrothal and marriage to Raimah, then he is not focusing on the ministry he was called to by Jesus. There is a time and place for everything, this was not the right time for Thomas to focus on his relationship with Raimah.
I disagree, it was a simple preparation for marriage, not overly engrossed.
For our salvation and the greater good, sometimes God says no to our prayers. 😢 It's one of the hardest lessons, as a Christian, to learn.

Agree with your comment at the beginning of the video. For me it is seeing a step deeper than just words.. I have always loved watching episodes connected with life of Jesus. Thank you for your explanations.. 👍
This episode should remind people as well that regardless of life or death. The only thing that matters is Jesus. Our relationship with Christ and God and heaven is greater than the relationship relationship we will have on earth.
Finally subbed to the channel. This episode is probably the worst kept secret of the series. I knew this was going

It shows bad things happen and God won't always answer our prayers. This shouldn't detract from our faith though.

John 16:33 (NIV): Jesus acknowledges the reality of suffering in this world but offers hope and peace in Him: "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV): Paul speaks about the temporary nature of physical suffering compared to the eternal glory that awaits believers: "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
Romans 8:18 (NIV): Paul also writes about the suffering of the present time not being worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed: "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."
In this world, everything serves our growth as we prepare for resurrection after death. Humanity desired free will, and we received it, but it comes with the reality of death before eternal life. While we do not enjoy the sad parts of life, understanding that they are part of God's plan for eternal life brings comfort. God's plans are far greater than any of us can comprehend, and He allows things to happen as part of the intricate future He is orchestrating. When we reflect on our own lives, we can often see patterns and reasons for why certain events occur. Trusting in God's greater plan provides us with hope and strength to endure life's challenges.
The Chosen showed what life could be like back then. I was upset too, but I understand that life was very hard under the Roman rule.
Paul teaches us in 2 Corinthians that what he suffered for Christ as an apostle was nothing compared to the eternal life he would have!
suffering is always there even today
I think it also shows that as Christians we will experience our cross ...just as he told the twins...you want to be at my side you will experience the cross.
Some people just don't get it ! They are veiled ! To the truth , spiritually blind😢😢
Brandon I’ve thought since I first saw episode 3 in theaters that Ramah was gonna be a part of the Matthew 27:52 passage when Christ died and the saints were resurrected. We will see!
years ago there was a country song about thank God for unanswered prayers, in reference to a young man wanting a certain young lady for his wife. He prayed, and God clearly said no as she did not want him. Years later, he found the love of his life in another and was thanking God for not answering. But is it really unanswered, or just an answer we don't see right off or recognize? His "no's" can often be more powerful and richer sometimes than His yesses. We just need to trust. I think He answers ALL prayers.
I still think that Ramah could be raised from the dead when the saints of God rose in the book of Matthew, but in the chosen after show Dallas said that they aren’t planning on doing that and that when Jesus says that it isn’t her time he is referring to when when the saints of God rise in the end times. But at the same time he said he wasn’t going to be doing the walking on water scene but he still did lol 😂
My daughter was sobbing during this scene. Fortunately, I knew it was coming, or I probably would have been a wreck.
If there had been ANY instances of Jesus NOT healing when asked to do so, the Pharisees and Sadducees would have had a heydey pointing out to everyone, "Jesus claims to be Messiah but He can't heal so-and-so." Jesus did not leave this option open to them. When He was on the cross, they were saying, "He saved others but can't save Himself." They weren't saying "He can't save Himself any better than He could save Rhema," so The Chosen has gone way off track.
Really good points! Yes, Joseph died! Have to remember, no is an answer, yes is an answer, later is an answer.
I just started back watching the chosen and now I just stopped again and want be watching the chosen again this is supposed to be about the Bible but Dallas has took it out of context This is wrong!!!
Believers know that the next life is our reward for obedience to God in this. I think comparing it to David is what’s confusing, instead of comparing the event to Job. If a comparison is even necessary, since Ramas murder is not Biblical. Peace of Christ be with you all
I feel like it was a great example of suffering, like Dallas talked about.
🕊 THANK YOU 💖 SO SO MUCH 💓 WITH BLESSINGS IN JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD NAME AMEN AMEN 🕊
ALL the Apostles were killed, except John who died in exile, even THE LORD, Himself.
I had to wonder.... why did Thomas lead her right by Qui tus
I wish I could just find this whole episode. I've found all others, except this one.
I agree, having Rama come back/resurrect would be great!
Some of your comments are appreciated, however most followers are biblical savvy and have good intelligent when they’re speaking…..so it may help if you curtail a lot of your comments and let us watch please. Think we can get most of it. thanks
Don’t forget, “no” is an answer too.
This is the best show I have ever seen Thank you Yolantafrom TorontoCanada
Thank you for your explanations. I felt really shocked by what happened and find it difficult to understand why Jesus couldn't step in to save Tomas's bride to be.
Thanks Brandon great breakdown especially when you touched on so many people at the pool and only one healed and John the Baptist this is one I have pondered on for years! however the only conclusion I can arrive at is ours is not to reason why it’s that our life and spirit goes back to God the giver when He decides to take it ! so we have to trust believe have faith in Him no matter how difficult it is x
5:31: Quintus takes a skin of wine. Quintus was drunk by the time events take their course
Apostle Paul prayed for healing of his eyes on more than one occasion but Jesus said that His grace was sufficient for him...
Thomas becomes Doubting Thomas when his Faith is tested.
Really bad or maybe good analogy, but you have to trust the writers of the show and their purpose for writing this in the same way you trust God when he allows hard times in your own life. I've seen spoilers for the next episode, and, well, there's some crazy stuff coming.Crazy GOOD!
Hi Brandon!! This was hard to watch!! I wonder if Little James will talk to Thomas about Jesus not healing him!! How will they react to Lazarus being raised? Looking forward to your next episode breakdown!! Love to you and Vanessa!!😍😍😍🙏🙏🙏
And currently God doesn't heal everyone we pray for
There's a reason behind it. I understand why they did it and why it happened
We love 💕 you Brando!!! You explain the Bible very good 👍🏻 keep up the good work!!! God bless you and your family as well 🙏🙏🙏🥰😘😭😭😭
The Chosen is great, it was a bit hard to swallow the ending of episode 3. We will still watch it and love the show. I think Dallas´ evangelicalism is showing more in the episodes, evidence by his after stream address where he says they are trying to portray capital T truths from scripture, which reinforces the point he is writing with his lens of biblical understanding.
Most will not accept this, but most questions in this video can be answered with “sin/karma/dharma”. Jesus knows every soul's dharma, meaning he knows every soul's plan. And he knows why something happens, for example a death, or doesn't happen. Scripture mentioned sin/karma clearly for this with eyes to SEE.
I watched your episode and was thinking the same thing regarding Matthew 27:52.
This is what bothers me. There is so much real life and death drama that is biical that could have focused on. What miracle of Jesus's gets cut out for this needless drama. I get the creative conversation its trying to create, but not necessary.
The dog knew to get out of dodge.
I believe Jesus meant in John’s gospel that He didn’t lose their faith in Him.
Love your analysis and the potential for season 7.
thanks!
The word that came to mind when I saw that scene was "blasphemous". Even more so after re-watching the scene with Jairus' daughter. Really, really disappointing.
There was a preator in Capernaum? Augustus only appointed 15 preators. Tiberius followed suit but he appointed less preators.
Brandon Dallas explained it beautifully!
Not necessary at all and made Jesus appear harsh, the message that sometimes the answer is NO from God is one we all know from our own lives, those around us and in multiple characters already from the series.
Some uplift and respite in the form of Thomas and Remah's relationship was desperately needed as the situation becomes more and more tense and filled with despair and sadness.
It's a tv show. Killing off a main character to create drama is common. They couldn't kill off a real character so they made one up.
God never leads His children otherwise than they would choose to be led, if they could see the end from the beginning, and discern the glory of the purpose which they are fulfilling as co-workers with Him.. Desire of Ages, p. 224
41:08 thank you, Brandon.
HI HAY THIS WAS NAVER DONE LIKE THIS BEFORE LIKE THIS THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OPEN UP THE HEARTS
My objection: Jesus saying, “I’m sorry.” Jesus would never apologize for the permissive will of God. He would not apologize to Thomas for having to experience loss and great pain. That is a very misleading comment about the character of Jesus and His relationship with the Father. Jesus is the Son of God, and He and the Father are one (John 10:30). That is, they are in complete accord. Jesus comforts us by His total confidence in the Father that all things work together for good. An apology implies regret and Jesus does not regret that which is purposeful. That’s flawed human understanding, not God’s viewpoint.
My conclusion: What is the value of a tv show that misrepresents the Lord? None. Does it get a pass for misinterpreting the character of Jesus because it’s a tv show written to entertain? No. Are we held accountable for what we believe regardless of the source material? Yes.
An apology does not always imply regret. When your young child misbehaves and you send them to their room for a time out, and they beg and plead with you to let them out, and you say., “I’m sorry. You will stay in your room until I say so…” are you saying you regret disciplining them? No. You’re saying you’re sorry that they are feeling pain but it’s required for learning purposes.
@@sdtlawton You might be confusing empathy with apology, understandably, because that’s how the scene was written. It’s vague and misleading, which is part of my concern. Understanding someone's pain is empathetic compassion, which is a defining characteristic of Jesus. However, the definition of apology is the expression of regret over something you’ve done or not done. Jesus felt sorrow and compassion for those who suffered, but He would not carelessly express an apology that undermines the decisions of God. To have Jesus apologize in the context of this scene does not represent the correct relationship and alignment of the Son of God with the Heavenly Father. That is my protest and greatest concern over this series. I think its missteps are subtle, cloaked in entertaining half-truths, and confusing to those who might not yet discern these things.
I interpret "I'm soryy" as that he is sorry for what Thomas is experiencing. If you find The Chosen unBiblical, don't watch it. Those of us who know the Bible and continue to watch do so because the story weaves Biblical accounts while "fleshing out" the characters. The Bible events are fairly represented. Believers allow poetic license for the color the writers add to make it weave together. Do they ever miss the mark? Possibly, but the story has brought people to Jesus and strengthened many Christians, as well.
