I’m not completely convinced that (according to Jung and followed by Beebe, etc.) for every human being, the inferior function ALWAYS corresponds to the Anima/Animus. I think that the precise archetypal representation for each individual can vary in quite a subjectively-derived manner. I’m concerned that this approach of inferior function = Anima/Animus (and the four unconscious functions as the one most correlating to the Jungian shadow) is too ‘cookie-cutter’ of an approach. I encourage everyone to learn Jung’s full model of the psyche (ego, persona, Self, anima/animus, shadow, etc.) and to test for themselves whether all of these archetypal matches actually jibes with their own subjective experience.
