Excellent exercises, thanks a lot, your class helped me alot to understand it very easily, greetings from México!
Excellent class thanks. Here in UNAMA we were forced to have this subject in DOL so you are the only teacher I will ever had in this subject. Greetings from Brazil.
This is really helpful especially when you decided to illustrate it.
Perfect explanation!
Thank you very much Professor Sivakumar!
Q2 is a bit tricky :-)
Let me give a clue. Take a point which is an intersection of perpendicular lines from each of the roller supports. If one rotates the body about that point, will it be possible to rotate the body by a small angle?
If so, can you call it rigidly connected to the fixed frame? - Sivakumar
as long as they are roller supports aren't parallel the system cant move, is the answer zero correct sir?
thanks sir for this lecture, outstanding work..
This has been very well explained, thanks for vid.
Excellently explained.
Please share if you have more videos or materials.
great scott!
thank you SIR
i have a question: for the first example u said: 5 dof, and then 4 dof... did u mean 4 dof of rotation? thnx
The best prof i have ever had
@maan1437 in question 4 we have 3 roller supports and the three roller supports arrest any kind of translation in the system. the only way the system can move is along the incline, in an angular motion. so the number of degrees of freedom is one
i wish u were in Albania to explain these to us! great job!
I had these results:
#1 - 1 (along horizontal)
#2 - 2 (along the support for a very small distance for both the rollers, which are interconnected, the body is not fixed)
#3 - 0
#4 - 1 (along the incline)
#5 - 5 (3 for B + 1 for the Bent Pin forming the hinge+ 1 for A)
bro i think what you said for 4 is wrong because a incline is a combination of x,y so it must be two degree of freedom
#2 - is 0 - as body can't translate and not even rotate as pins(attached to roller) dont allow such + body itself is rigid
In ex 2 how body A has 3 dofs if the body is restrained ??
superb sir,,thankyou
thankyou so much,,sir please make strenth of material lectures also
In college I have been taught that if two bodies are attached by a rod then the number of constraints is one. So why at 11:46, the number of constraints is 2 when they are attached by a pin?
Grt work sir, hats off.....!
11.00
Small doubt here. Can we assume the point O to rotate as well? If it can rotate, then the whole system will have 5 degrees of freedom, rather than 4?
Thanks 😊 sir you make my teaching thought different
his is the best teacher
sir i had adoubt u have given a question where a body is supported by 3roller supports over a curved surface how can i solve it
+Jansi Babu If it curves perfectly around the original object I would say one DoF. If the path is straight then curves up I would say three DoF.
Thanks a lot sir.....my doubts are cleared almost
do you have answers for 6 question.plz share answers
Thank you. So much better than my prof.
Parth Kapur so true, why do all professors not illustrate like this
excellently done....
Excellent, Thank you
@Da1NOnlyTrueDaniel
If pinned to the frame of reference it will have 3 dofs. If not, 5 dofs. Most problems solved in this exercise are those in which the body is NOT pinned to the frame of reference. Hope it is clear now?
I don't understand. If on Question 2 the bodies are Pinned through each other to the frame of reference, how can there be 5 dof? Wouldn't it be just 3 dof?
Ansewer to Q2 is 0 Dof!
Correct or not?
is it ryt? i guess 5th is 6 as b also moves in all directions
thanks alot
For the unsolved questions,DOF for question 2 is 0 and for question 5 is 6, is it correct???? plzz answer.
+Abhishek Pandey .... im also trying to solve them... in qn 5.. the body A has 3.. body B has 1..... but im not sure about the roller... did u solve it yet?
for question 2 it is 0 d.o.f , but for question 5 it is 5 d.o.f .
All correct except example 6, it will be 0 if its fixed with a pin connection. It can go in vertical direction if its a sliding connection(neglecting gravity). Great teacher !!!
ya, i thought so too
yeah I too thought like that
I think the rollers are not visible, therefore, this confusion. The two supports are roller supports in example 6. Hope it is clear now!
exlent
Thanks sir
very good
thank so much
Tq s m sir
Can anyone plz provide me answers of five unsolved questions?
do you have answers for 6 question.plz share answers
To: barker2k6
Hmm...expand on it please....
Sivakumar
👍🏼
What is degree of freedom for Door?
1
SubhanAllah he is good
@mrafiuddin50 Yes
1-1
2-0
3-0
4-1
5-6
sir am I correct @nptelhrd
excuse me you say 3bodies soo why 9 its 3*3*3=27 so why 9 ans me
+Sun Kaur ...hy do you multiply it ????
yaa listen m student soo question is my fav if u say 3*3*3which is 27 soo why u say 9 did u considered only 2 bodies then it would be 9
+Sun Kaur ... its 3+3+3=9
ok its addition i do multiplication
#1 -1
#2 -0
#3 -0
#4-1
#5- 6
it should be 5 for 5. A can only translate along the slider. so that's basically just one degree of freedom
WRONG
I really don’t understand why a science lecture must begin with anti science called religion!
Poor guy ...u don't even know what did that sanskrit verses in the beginning meant...
