This professor is a superb lecturer. I now have a much better grasp of radiation heat transfer. If only my professor was this good.

What is heat radiation and is it like electromagnetic radiation? Heat can transfer in vacuum also but how? When anything is heated then its molecules vibrate rapidly but why anything that comes near that object also heats up? Is it something like electromagnetic radiation?

@ 42:18 he writes: "If all surfaces are plane/convex -->self view factor is zero. But then he actually draws a convex surface and says that the self view factor =/ 0?
    Did he mean concave?

He mean concave and draw the concave surface. Actually same surface can be consider concave or convex depending on, from which side you are seeing. here he meant concave if the radiation is emitted in upward direction.
