I absolutely loved it! Can’t wait to see the second part of your reaction!
Heartstopper has to be one of the best dramas I have ever seen produced in the past ten years. It was pitched so perfectly. The right balance of fun, love and some sadness. I think Heartstopper will be the Netflix show which gets Netflix more subscribers back. The certainly got me!

@@JustLucinda The acting in it is of such a high standard, that it puts dramas on the BBC and ITV to shame. The scene between Charlie and his sister when he is sitting at his drums is the most heartbreaking. To think this sweet lad Charlie, who would never want to harm anyone could think he ruined people's lives is so heartbreaking just showed the outstanding acting of Joe Locke.
It absolutely WRECKED me. I came out as trans in high school (year 10) and was relentlessly bullied. I was also “dating” a Ben at the time who also tore me down to nothing. This show triggered a lot of trauma I forgot I still had on me. I was definitely Charlie in that sense. Never found my “Nick” though and I’m a year away from turning 40. I’ve watched this show well over 100 times and I still snot sob like I did the first time I watched it. 😭
30:38 And, you know, Nick also doesn't emotionally manipulate and physically attack him. Or cheat on him. So. Overall big upgrade from Ben.
The best and biggest upgrade, so glad Charlie was able to stand up to Ben
And also the fact that Nick constantly feels guilty about asking Charlie to keep it secret, so he considers Charlie's feelings constantly, something Ben never did.
You missed the part where Harry mentioned the party was being held at the St. George's Hotel.
Yep, realised when editing. It makes a lot more sense than it being someone’s house
Of course, Harry's family are ludicrously rich if they've booked the entire hotel for the evening.

Yeah, right? She's a keen observer and she connected the dots quickly when Tao mentioned Tara. Big brain moment there.
@@blankismissing9454 Yeah, she even got Darcey saying "homophobia" as a joke after her and Tara's kiss was interrupted, in episode 6.
I loved the lesbidar moment you had about Nick liking Tara. LGBT-dar is awesome when it works.
Nick was using a fountain pen...which apparently DO explode sometimes (from what people who have used fountain pens have told me) and make a massive mess...so Nicks pen doing that isn't... impossible.
I thought he had like a biro or something which I don’t think can explode that much, but a fountain pen makes sense
When Ben says " not like anyone else will want to go out with you", Ben let me introduce you to Nick the guy who wants to go out with Charlie and hold his hand in public.

Nick cannot go to Tara and Darcy and Elle's school since it is an all girls school. Elle was at Charlie's and Nick's school since she was a boy before transitioning. That is why she made the comment that she used to get picked on when she went to that school since it is an all boy's school.
Oh yeah I know that. I meant I wish we spent more time at the girls school with Tara, Darcy and Elle rather than with the bad vibes at the boys school
She was never a boy; she was a closeted trans girl.

Also you guys should read the graphic novels. Super good!! And just exactly like the show. They got it so perfect.
Yeah, the snow and rain are meant to be "fantastical" or magical. They're shot in bright sunlight. The show is doubling down of rom-com tropes. (Bonus, the exploding pen scene is, well, Freudian.)
Yes I loved all the romcom feels, and hope it’s even extra in the newer seasons
The snow scene is the point where of course you have to suspend reality, and just go with the flow for such a beautiful scene between Nick and Charlie in the snow.
It definitely looked and felt magical
@@JustLucinda There were so many great moments in this show. The kiss at the arcade between Nick and Charlie was for me the best kiss in my opinion.
@@johnking5174 I can’t decide what my favourite moment is as there are so many!! But I loved when any character smiled at another couple kissing or something because it just felt so lovely!
@@JustLucinda It was so heartwarming and uplifting. The very last scenes of the last episode were just a perfect finale. I remember saying to my friend that even if Netflix did not want to make more seasons, at least it ended on a positive happy note. Thankfully they have seen sense and we will get two more seasons!!
@@johnking5174 yes I’m glad there was a perfect ending so we don’t “need more” but I’m glad that we are getting more seasons
