Hello. I did the no sugar thing and truthfully, eating fruit not only has healthy sugars, but it helps your body reduces the bodyfat and makes your body leaner. So eating fruit is a good choice.
btw sugar in donut is glucose, while the sugar in apple is fructose. they are built different like one of them is disaccarit and other one is monosaccarit or sth like that
listen when I tell you I was having a hard time understanding fiber and carbs and how they work together as a nutritionist you made that missing space all make sense now. no one could dumb down the information enough for me. thanks seriously.
As a fellow diabetic, understand that there are two different types of sugar here: fructose in the apple and glucose in the donut. While all foods cause a spike in blood sugar, fructose and glucose are not the same. He is right about the fiber slowing it down but I just want you to know that us diabetics can have fruit!
Yes the donut fat is only bad due to the high omega 6 content in seed oils (eg canola, sunflower, soy, corn, and rapeseed oils). That is what junk foods, fast food and even restaurant foods are usually cooked in. If it were fried in beef tallow, or coconut oil or avocado oil, it wouldn’t be as bad because those omega-3 fats are healthy ❤. And of course the flour (gluten) and refined sugar in the donut are also bad. I would just look up a paleo donut recipe
It's also why drinking juice is almost as bad as drinking soda. Orange juice is the absolute worst; it's better to just eat an orange and leave on as much of the inner fibers as possible.
@@Mystical_Force He just wanted to use the word "flabbergasted" because he thinks it's "funny", probably he saw other braindead users do the same and he is trying to copy them because this is the internet and the people using it in 2024 in a nutshell. Exactly, thank you for the explanation. I get frustrated with certain individuals telling us not to eat fruit because of the sugar content! Yes, it’s sugar and as you say, when it’s consumed with fibre it’s slow release. We need good/unrefined sugar for energy, and consuming it with fibre is the correct way to do it.
Apple sugar is complex carbohydrates. That means that it has more molecules. That means the body takes longer to break them down. In turn leading to slow rising blood sugar instead of spike like simple sugars do. Simple sugars have barely any molecules to breakdown which leads to the spike in blood sugar. All in all find yourself complex carbohydrates instead of simple carbohydrates for consumption. 😊 I hope this helps.
There actually is a small health concern with some fruit now because of rising sugar levels. We selectively bred for sweet fruit, and it's starting to bite us. Some zoo animals are starting to be forbidden fruit and given pellets instead because of the sugar content.

A lot of people at 84 would be better had they made necessary sacrifices instead of blaming old age for everything. False. Maybe 100 calories more. A donut isn’t going to make you gain weight. Eating a ton will. Like if you would cosine a ton of apples you’d gain weight
Another reason apples are healthier than donuts is what they contain other than sugar. Apples in addition to sugar, contain vitamins, potassium, polyphenols and antioxidants. Donuts, in addition to sugar contain simple starches, refined and processed fats, and oftentimes preservatives and artificial flavours and colours that may be harmful, especially if the donut is bought pre- prepared and packaged
It isn't. An apple contains different kinds of sugars that are not as easy to absorb and it takes our body longer to break them down. Either way, the rate sugar is dissolved does not make something healthy or unhealthy. It is more about what else is in the food, is it high in salt? fat? I'm a type 1 diabetic so I was taught about the glycemic index from early childhood because when you have a low blood sugar it can quickly kill you if you're a diabetic. Ironically you WANT the higher glycemic index index foods like a donut when you have a low sugar as a diabetic due to how fast it can go bad, but I drink apple juice instead of a donut since it's at least not processed/added sugar, but it takes away the fiber so it fixes the problem quickly.
There's another reason which is actually far more important. The apple contains a lot more water and fibre, which means it takes up far more space in your stomach when you eat it.
Thank you for explaining this to the people in the back who INSIST that a cold-pressed juice made with whole organic fruit and a soda are the sane thing… And before we even go there about no fiber being in the cold-pressed juice to slow down the release of natural sugars my point IS that natural sugars and processed sugars ARE DIFFERENT and the body responds to them differently ~ especially when minerals and vitamins are in one drink (the cold-pressed juice) and the the other contains chemicals in addition to processed sugar… Honestly as a society I hope that we all start to get it and come back into alignment with the Universe and Nature💛
