Gandhar was a small Kingdom and constantly war with neighbouring kingdoms. King SUBALA was frightened to watch the mighty army marching with Pitamah Vishma. He doesn't want another bloodshed of his innocent people, they already sacrificed a lot. DHITRASHTRA had immense strength, no one can beat him in wrestling, can tame animals even elephants, etc. He was practisioning celibacy aka BRAHMACHARYA along with his half brother PANDU. Marriage proposals, invitation of swayamvaar for princess Kunti came and Pandu was invited. He was keen and excited that infuriated DHITRASHTRA's anger more as he was not invited for his disability. For PANDU as well as BIDUR was the talk of the town. It made him very depressed and angry. Queen Mother SATYAVATI discussed it with her stepson VISHMA. VISHMA asked for all the hands of same consanguine daughters of SUBALA. The marriage occurred in HASTINAPUR. Yes, her sisters were unflinchingly devoted to Gandhari. One day a maid in hand of GANDHARI known as SUGADHA inappropriately touched DHITRASHTRA. He grabbed her and make love thought it was one of his wives. It produces YUYUTSU. YUYUTSU was younger than DURYODHAN, YUDHISHTHERA(eldest son of Pandu), BHEEMA (second eldest son of Pandu) but older than Dushasana. DHITRASHTRA later also sired another son DHITRASHTRA KASYA with SUGADHA. After marriage of DHITRASHTRA, PANDU immediately gone to KUNTI's swayamvaar and won the competition. Within one month of marrying KUNTI, he married MADRI. Madri was the sister of Shalya, the king of the Madra Kingdom. The Adi Parva of the Mahabharata states that Bhishma, a statesman of Kuru Kingdom and the grandsire of the royal family, travelled to Madra and asked for the hand of Madri for Pandu, the ruler of the kingdom.[2] Shalya assented, but according to their family custom, he was unable to 'bestow' his sister to the Kurus. So, Bhishma presented him with wealth, gold, elephants, and horses, and took Madri with him to Hastinapura, the capital of Kuru, and got her married to Pandu. PANDU's marriage with MADRI was arranged much before. He married KUNTI by Luck as she had garlanded him and chosen him as her husband

@nightking5262 Mahabharat BORI CE is the oldest translated version of ved vyas Mahabharat and this is not Vyas Mahabharatam as a matter of fact there was only one Vyas Mahabharatam in the world and that was translated into Mahabharat BORI CE where people can understand the writings of the ancient Sanskrit.

Not true. They did not marry coz of their will. Bhishma being so powerful, they forced the king to give the daughter to them else they will attack the kingdom. In some versions it is said that Shakuni and his brothers were imprisoned, starved and only Shakuni survived. Hence he dedicated his life to take the revenge. Bhishma did same thing with - Amba, Ambika and Ambalika. Forcfully won them. It was a swamvar and it wasnt Amba's will at all to go with Bhishma. There is a reason for downfall of Kurus. Thats why Shrikrishna came to save dharma.
