Participants in the 'The Singer' competition had a week to learn and arrange the song that has been chosen for them. Dimash didn't speak a word of English at the time and only learned the lyrics phonetically. It was the 3rd song in the competition.
Message from Sveta (Dimash's mum in 2017) re: Brian May "We have received a message that great Brian May, the lead guitarist of the legendary rock band «Queen», gave a feedback after reviewing of Dimash’s performances:
💥“... I wasn’t aware of Dimash, but I certainly am now! Those performances in the links demonstrate what an extraordinary voice and ability he has. Now I will know !! Sadly I won’t be around on the night of the O2 concert, so I won’t be able to attend. But I appreciate the invitation and wish you all the best of luck with the show. Please give Dimash my regards and congratulations. Best wishes. Bri” Dear Brian! Many thanks to you for your kind words! Good health, happiness and creative successes to you, Maestro!" (picuki)
In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden until then. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door.
"The Show Must Go On" was the 3. song in the competition. Participants have one week to learn the lyrics and arrange the song. Dimash did not speak English at this point.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to RUclips ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won).

Disfruto de sus reacciones a Dimash, entrenador. No estoy de acuerdo en que debas reaccionar solo a sus canciones del programa "I Am Singer". Si lo hicieras de esa manera, seguirías en 2017 cuando él cante en 2022 y más allá. Si los suscriptores le piden que permanezca más de 5 años en el pasado para que pueda ver el progreso de Dimash, ¿por qué comenzar en 2017? ¿Por qué no comenzar en 2012 cuando hay videos en RUclips de Dimash cantando en años anteriores a 2017? No tiene sentido para mí. Es tu canal, y si haces las cosas que te gustan y te interesan, las reacciones serán las mejores.

Hola Gabriel, que gusto verle de nuevo en sus reacciones de Dimash. La verdad, para mí está es una presentación espectacular, y creo que a Freddy Mercury le habría encantado, me parece un gran tributo. Y bueno, queremos que reacciones a la presentación de Dimash cantando el himno nacional de Kasakhstan, en la pelea de El Canello, y de su amigo campeón GGG, en Las Vegas, eso fue épico. Y también ver y oír su nuevísima producción, Requiem: The Story of one Sky. Que te diré, ahí Dimash hace honor a su comentario, cuando nos dijo hace un poquito de tiempo atrás, que estos años habían sido solo un calentamiento, que no habíamos visto nada y que ahora empezaba....y así es. Eso es absolutamente una genialidad, el vídeo, que es mejor dicho un cortometraje de excelente calidad, su actuación, el gran mensaje que nos transmite, la melodía y su increíble voz, dónde él compuso la música (le llevó 3 años), escribió la historia y el guión, de verdad que Dimash solo se superó a si mismo, y de qué manera. De verdad, debes verlo, y masticarlo con calma, jajaja, simplemente te atrapa tanta belleza. Por cierto, está canción la cantó en vivo en su concierto del 23 de setiembre en su país, y el video lo estrenó con los Dears en una fanmeeting que hizo el día siguiente, 24 de setiembre. Poco antes del concierto y de venir a Las Vegas, cantó esa misma canción en el 7mo Congreso Mundial de Líderes Religiosos realizado en su país, evento en el cual estaba el Papa Francisco, de quién también Dimash recibió un recuerdo de una medalla que entregó ahí. Pura vida 🇨🇷❤️🇰🇿
