I would put mesh screen on the opening of your intake duct to keep debris out of your engine bay. Obviously you’ll get air regardless but that duct is just big enough you can suck in small amounts of dirt /small pieces of debris from the road & it could do some damage to your engine. Buddy had a similar duct on his car & some chunks of a tire got kicked up & sucked into his engine and smashed around damaging it

Damn! Sounds nice on that clean whip of yours bro 👍. I'm a cheapskate on my catback system spending $280 on with y piping and res delete with just a single muffler which is a flowmaster outlaw. Then replaced the stock tips with black steel ones with all that was included for the $280. Mine has a lower muffled sound but unfortunately enough to get attention from the po Po's lololol. Mine's a 2014 SV. One of the best cars I had and definitely is a eye catcher from driver's of other cars. They probably don't see too many Maxima's, so they really don't know what car this is until being closeup.

Just bought my 2014 Pearl White Maxima just turned 30,000 Miles. I did the Stillen Cat Back, Stillen Cold Air, and Stillen Rear Sway Bar. That's about all you can do with these, due to the CVT Transmission. They can't take No Power. Needs 6-speed Swap !!!
How big of a difference in performance do u feel with the stillen intake? & is there anything else I can do for increase in power? I was thinking about a tune but that CVT holding me back plus front wheel drive 😂 🤷♂️ wish they offered awd and different gearbox even though the CVT hasn’t gave me any problems and torque is on point doesn’t bother me

I thought of running something like that but my car is low and if I run into a puddle or high water it will suck up air. As for the one I have now I’ve taken trips with it under heavy rain and wind and it has held up great. Water doesn’t get a chance to get in there.

@@jlsbass i have went through alot of headlights and i just got the new ones from sylvania. The only thing that outshines me are those f250’s and light bars. For low beam, high beam amd fog light was $300 ive had HID’s prior to this and ive hit pot holes and they broke. These are way beter imo

Got the same exact maxima but with moon roofs and aftermarket body kit. I got a k&n with that exact setup for the intake. Love the 350z bumper duct. Works well with maximas. Dont got the muffler delete but I added a bunch of stuff for areo. Question! Why do you have the engine cover off.

Should have done a throttle body spacer, and changed out the second catalytic or both for the magnaflow direct bolt on. Ebay has them. Better exhaust and sound.
I've got a 2010 Maxima I just paid for. I was going to go get a new car. And I've always wanted to get an old muscle car and fix it up. And then I thought wait a minute, this car already hauls ass. Believe me it's fast. Do those high performance chips that are supposed to add 60 horsepower actually do anything?
Had my '03 for about a year and a half now, I want to do some stuff with it was thinking an exhaust with headers and a cat delete, as well as a CAI. Worried about how it will sound tho, any advice? Yours aint the same generation but same engine tho and yours sounds great. Edit: one more question did you need a tune with what you got done to it or does it run well without?
iiDreq yeah si far it’s been reliable paid around 27k give or take back then and still holding up almost at 200k miles. Only regular maintenance done. But since I was very low on Coilover I had to replace 1 axle and since I race it I replaced both valve covers and radiator AC went out like a year ago but I live in Florida so yeah other than that it’s good 😂
Around 1:50 in the video you were doing a drive by and I can hear a whining noise. I have a 09 maxima and it does the same thing after warming up with it in (slap shift) sport. I’ve had it check and they said that it’s normal with a CVT but I was wondering if you have looked into it.
John Douglas Estes yeah before it was whining more but it was low on trans fluid. So check your fluid when it’s warm. It’s normal in CVT but not too loud
Best first 3 mods for a newer Maxima; first trade whatever model you have in and buy a clean 5.5 or 6 gen 6MT car, then headers/y-pipe, and a tune. In all seriousness though the 8G and to some extent the 9G Maxima are sharp looking sedans, but the CVT and lack of tuning support really killed the performance potential these cars used to have. The old 5.5/6G cars with just a few bolt-ons and good tires would easily get well into the 12’s and hang with all manner of “higher performance” vehicles of the time. The Maxima truly still earning its 4DSC badge at that time. Fast forward to current models and you can barely break out of the 14’s even with all the performance parts the aftermarket has to offer for the platform. It’s just one of those models that fell off and went by the wayside. Definitely a sad thing for ole’ Datsun.
@@HorsepowerLabs I was mostly just kidding. The Vq35 hasn’t changed much at its core from the early 2000’s to the ones they still stuff in a Maxima today so they can definitely still make power. A 7th gen isn’t bad at all; you can still tune those cars, they look good, they aren’t super heavy. About the only downside to them is the CVT so if you get rid of that in favor of a 6MT I’d say a 7th gen is still 4 door sports car material lol. Any idea how much power you make through the 6 speed? The most I ever made NA was 303whp and that was with a DE engine, FBO and JWT C8 cams/springs revving to the moon lol. That was a lot of power at the time for a 5.5 gen stripped down to under 3000#s.
@@kennethpowers8995 it’s been street tuned only haven’t hit a dyno yet. I can only compare to other cars. Like a type R I pull on it easy. I stay close a scatpack with them pulling slightly but they are way heavier. I got a race coming up with a single turbo civic so we will see how that goes

Manuel Lucero damm but at 70k it was still under warranty. Nissan cvt warranty until 120k

You may get water on that filter thru that front hole vent. Should do it from bottom next to fog light. Way better.. And cooler air

Not sure how to replace radio with factory gps buy you can put aftermarket one with camera. And yes you can remove the black plastic and put lights

Best first 3 mods for a newer Maxima; first trade whatever model you have in and buy a clean 5.5 or 6 gen 6MT car, then headers/y-pipe, and a tune. In all seriousness though the 8G and to some extent the 9G Maxima are sharp looking sedans, but the CVT and lack of tuning support really killed the performance potential these cars used to have. The old 5.5/6G cars with just a few bolt-ons and good tires would easily get well into the 12’s and hang with all manner of “higher performance” vehicles of the time. The Maxima truly still earning its 4DSC badge at that time. Fast forward to current models and you can barely break out of the 14’s even with all the performance parts the aftermarket has to offer for the platform. It’s just one of those models that fell off and went by the wayside. Definitely a sad thing for ole’ Datsun.

@@HorsepowerLabs I was mostly just kidding. The Vq35 hasn’t changed much at its core from the early 2000’s to the ones they still stuff in a Maxima today so they can definitely still make power. A 7th gen isn’t bad at all; you can still tune those cars, they look good, they aren’t super heavy. About the only downside to them is the CVT so if you get rid of that in favor of a 6MT I’d say a 7th gen is still 4 door sports car material lol. Any idea how much power you make through the 6 speed? The most I ever made NA was 303whp and that was with a DE engine, FBO and JWT C8 cams/springs revving to the moon lol. That was a lot of power at the time for a 5.5 gen stripped down to under 3000#s.
@@kennethpowers8995 it’s been street tuned only haven’t hit a dyno yet. I can only compare to other cars. Like a type R I pull on it easy. I stay close a scatpack with them pulling slightly but they are way heavier. I got a race coming up with a single turbo civic so we will see how that goes

No. No problem at all or at least none that I’ve had

These cars drink a lot of fuel. A tank should give around 350 to 450 miles rage depends on how you drive.
