Did this thing the normal way on solo legend, really fun, especially second phase
Yeah same here on my first playthrough. Really enjoyed the boss fight was pretty neat strand grappling like Spider-Man all over the place.
@@zacharywilhelm2462 lol that was the worst had that happen several times. Ended up building up a ton of heavy and just jumping between catwalks. Then just used an lmg to burst the tormentors fast.
Second phase was really fun but man first phase was horrible, but that's probably only because I am a warlock main

I died atleast 30 times doing this solo Legendary and spent at least 3 days trying to beat this. For the second phase I ended up just using the strand swings which did tick damage. I just imagined I was doing a Spider-Man simulator and it ended up killing him 😂

I feel ya. I just used witherhoard and a lasting impression rocket and swung all around. It was a difficult boss
I used a vorpal cartestion and just swing around and spam fusion bolts at him and than swing around as I keep repeating the process

i had so much trouble doing this encounter on legend when i did it. i discovered this cheese, really helped.

You don't have to get out just walk forward wait till the bubble is up walk forward and shoot at the platform of the left to draw calus over if you're having trouble with the bubble part it's slower but safer

Being under level was brutal in this mission but I just went to neomuna and completed 2 overloads, came back with stronger gear and he was a cakewalk

It depends honestly. Like in destiny 1 raid boss cheese were patched quickly compared to some strike boss cheese mechanics.
I just want the leviathan raid back. This game is literally all over the place. Chews up all your fucking time the spits you out when you take a break just to do it again
I think it’s in a better spot now than it’s been in a while. The content vault was one of the worst decisions they could make as an fps with mmorpg elements.

Grapple out works pretty well otherwise you can just kind of jump out and it’s not too bad

Dont, Get a refund and put that money towards an actual fleshed out experience
I’ve enjoyed it but I like the gunplay and gameplay loop of destiny 2. Borderlands is the only thing I’ve found that scratches that similar itch.
Between an incomplete subclass, getting clipped and falling to my death via Tormentor suppression and Calus' orbital bombardment..I def coulda used this 😂

I just spammed Hunter class ability on Tormentors and strung em up before fighting Calus
Rule number 1: always target Tormenters when they spawn
I just suppressed them with tractor cannon and a hammer or two on a solar titan to bring them down.
I can show this to the people in my clan that couldn't solo or duo this so they can stop asking. I have now killed calus 5 times. It's not that hard on legend
Glad to hear it can help some. I had fun on my solo legend playthrough. Felt like the difficulty wasn’t too high, but rather a nice balance of difficulty.
just walk to the middle while you’re under. wait until the veil is formed. then go back to where you were hiding before. on the right side of the tube theres a little bit you can stand on. then just shoot at the air to lure in the boss until u beat him.

My gf and I did this a different way. Calus got afflicted with a status effect that kept doing damage to him and she hide while I was dead. Calus ended up dying from the status effect giving us the win.

No longer can get under stairs for anyone wondering it’s patched
If you want you can stay all time under the stairs. Both first and second phase. But second phase tormentors blocked some bullets. Also whisender does great job. Thx bungie for the triple damage

I did it from the bottom and when the dome closed in i stayed under then when I was incased in the dome I moved back along the pipe and beat him from there

technically all that can be done right underneath the the steps as soon as the next phase starts move forward underneath it and position yourself so you can shoot the feet when he goes to the right to step

theres a way to do it without the grapple btw! just jump out to the right
You can even just stay under on that catwalk. Just walk back towards the center and it ignores the joining allies message. Then scoot back and to the left and Calus will walk over in view to shoot his toes and belly

You don't have to get out from underneath the stairs for Phase 2, walk closer to Calais on the bean under the stage. Once encounter starts walk back to the stairs

You can just move forward half way for the forcefield to drop go back and go to the left side of the pipe and he would walk far left and you just keep shooting.

I found a new cheese. Just grab strand empowerment and if u have it unlocked just put on shackle nades and keep throwing them at him they will stun calus when the damage goes off. EVERY TIME. Trust even in both phases he’ll literally reel back from taking damage from them and not shoot u.

Ironically it'a faster to go around and spam strand grenades (hatchlings if it's the 2nd time ur doing it). Talking from experience. Also the suspending grenade neutralizes the tormentors (NOT the nezarec tormentors)

This was so freaking easy. I'm not trying to be a dic. But it really was I didn't see why people were having trouble. I was using krait a fusion and machine gun. Each gun had a role
Idk I’ve seen and heard from a lot of people that struggled. I think what I noticed more is that new players just didn’t have very good weapons or didn’t understand the mod system possibly. Had a couple friends that struggled with it because of that as well as being new to the game.
If you aren't running and screaming throughout phase 1 then shrieking while trying to remember the words "wretched eye" during phase 2 are you really even playing though?

Just stick to 1 platform 1 walkway kill the ads from the walkway, save heavy and just tag tormentor as you bounce around, save heavy for final stand
That’s pretty much what I did on my playthrough but I just used heavy and farmed some off ads
Wait, does the Torrmentor only have downward ranged and Melee attacks?! Bruh all I needed was to be on a higher place every fight....
They have one like upward slash attack too but it’s much easier to dodge than their other attacks.
You can actually climb down there before you start it. Then walk forward far enough and it’ll start. Then you don’t have to rush trying to get down there.

I did stasis warlock with all the DR buffs and Agee scepter, made it super easy without hiding.

Tried this and it was so much more boring than regular so anyone who wants to do this be warned that it's no where near as fun as the regular version, at least in my experience

No need to cheese i solo’s legend 3 times the best recommendation I could give is the “new exotic assault rifle with its grenade launcher, and a precision frame shotgun for the torms
I solo cleared it as well but some people have really struggled with this boss. Plus cheese is delicious anyways
Man took me like 4 days to finish that stage, told my wife i play videogames to relax and this was stressing me out, think i went crying to bed a couple times

The cheese makes it easy but ruins the whole point of the Legendary campaign, you end up making it easier than the normal boss fight.
Just offers an alternative some people appreciate a challenge some people like using game mechanics in a silly way 🤷♂️
But if u get the tormenters dead before phase 2 u can kill calus easy, spam nade lock or berserker titan melts the FEK outta him 😂

All I did was tractor cannon and 1-2 punch with strand grapple melee, pretty easy and fun
Yeah anything that debuffed or applied damage over time makes the fight a cakewalk
Idk I think it takes so much fun outta the fight thinking about falling off the map than getting a clutch grapple to save yourself was fun
I see both sides of it. It was definitely fun on my first clear swinging around like Spider-Man. On the other hand I can understand newer players pulling their hair out and maybe this lets them clear and have fun too.
You don’t even have to leave that spot for the second phase. Just move inside while under platform on the pipe. Second phase move back and the boss will come to the left side finish off easy.

Cheese is just out there for those that need it. Cleared him again regularly today with a friend, witherhoard and bursting calus with an lmg or rockets makes it pretty easy by just running around the catwalks.

Or the other cheese have someone with strand with grapple grenade spam since it’s infinite nades have max discipline and a strand setup and you can stun lock calus and the tormentors even better with the Titan exotic

Might do this on my alts. Did it on my warlock first time properly, fight was annoying and slow but cool in the end. I do sorta like that despite his defeat we still failed. Just that extra twist

I don’t know who you are, this is my first time seeing you, but I’m going to watch more of your content. You don’t have an annoying ass voice like most other Destiny content creators. As for the actual content in your short, I’m always a fan of a good cheese. I found the staircase of my own accord, whilst helping a buddy on their campaign, but the dome? Now that’s clever. Too bad I soloed legendary on all three classes before I knew about either. 🤷🏼♂️🤣

It’s wild that people struggle with calus.
At the time of writing, this mission is the weekly mission. You can trivialise master difficulty by bringing in shackle Grenades and going for strand empowerment.
