I love this watch, I have the original (but plan to get the white version), and the accuracy of the quartz is greatly appreciated in my field. Its hard to find any GMT compressor style watch at this price range, especially with good lume.
My Eagle Ray GMT in orange sunburst came in today. It's stunning. Excited to wear this one. I'm not upset about the quartz movement in this piece. For a travel watch, the increase in reliability is worth it to me. Also, recently picked up a Leviathan in blue as well. Would love to hear your take on that monster. I've enjoyed it tremendously after putting a Barton band on it.
Thanks for the video! Just placed my order for the white dial. Signed up with Phoibos and got 15% off. I prefer automatics but was in the market for a quartz GMT for mountaineering/ice climbing, the later would destroy an automatic within a day of climbing, so this will be a tool watch.
True GMTs are for pilots who change time zones constantly all day but need to always know GMT time. If you're just a traveler who sits in the back of the plane once or twice a year an "office" GMT makes more sense.
Love this brand…if they would do an applied octopus logo that would look so great…seems pricey for the auto though. Hard to push $400 for NH35 but it does look great. Nice music!
As promised. Thank you so much, Sir. This is a great watch and has been on my short list for a little while. I do like Phoibos watches. Much appreciated and great review, as usual. I am leaning towards the automatic. Go well, brother.
The quartz movement for the GMT is an odd choice when the auto version is a Seiko. I'd be interested to hear the designers' reasons for not going with the NH34. Still, it's an attractive piece like most of their other watches.
I agree, very attractive and was wondering the same. I own the auto non-GMT version of this and am happy to wear it. One thing I could think of is maybe they are conscious of the thickness and are looking at alternatives to get a thinner profile. The NH34 tends to produce cases with 14mm+ in thickness. Maybe we can look forward to the new Miyota GMT movement in the future?
With the Ronda quartz the weight and thickness of the watch are reduced to more appealing dimensions but also makes the watch significantly more affordable (or profitable).
Nice review. If I was getting a watch to actually dive with, it would never be quartz. Every battery change involved pressure testing and gasket changes, greatly increasing the cost of battery changes.
Hope you’re okay? Missing your videos- if you’re stuck on what to review next, the Christopher Ward C60 Atoll 300 in Reef Blue (or Shark White) is a stunning watch- I have had mine a few weeks and am blown away with how good it is! Hope to see you soon 🙏
This is 2nd watch from this brand and not a last one, great products! Only on my Eagle ray secconds hand isn't straight on 12, that is a little bit sad.😅
Hey Randy. I just subscribed to your watch channel because I received a watch for Christmas I know nothing about. Have you ever heard of "Michael Kors" before? It's really nice looking. It says it's a chronograph watch. Can you tell me anything about it?
I am a Phoibus fan more or less. This model just does not do it for me. Would probably not like it in auto either. Don't care for the double crowns and interior bezel I guess. Thx for your take on the quartz.
It's actually a three-zone watch, right? With the 24h bezel you can set a second time zone, and then the GMT hour indicator gives you a third, assuming neither of them a weird half-hour time zone. I suppose real divers might be disappointed by that bezel but for me it seems really useful.

Phoibos watches are my favorite brand of watches.

This and the new wavemaster gmt they just announced look killer, super excited for whats to come from them
By far the best review of this timepiece.

Great looking watch. Thanks for showing it.

The auto one has many differences. Bracelet, 3 hander, 200m. I have the blue pastel one. Love it! And love this brand!

I have the purple one from the phoibos/islander colab. Good stuff!!! I just HAD to have that color.
Please make more content! Miss your videos!!!!
How does this watch compare to their Wavemaster which I think you also reviewed

Enjoyed your content.
I like this watch, I just can't get past the name.😊
Hi, where have you been? Miss your videos.
Where are you man???
Have you quit?
We miss your content!
I came here to ask the same thing. Two months man! We miss you.
Should be mentioned that the bezel on the auto is timing style.
Thank you. If you haven’t guess by now I’m a poor watch reviewer and RUclipsr in general
@@cheapwatchman_official stop that! I always look forward to your videos!

GORGEOUS!!!
Is it me, or does the number 22 look misaligned?
Quartz is a no no hate that tick of the second hand when a seiko auto gmt is so inexpensive
Nobody cares if you don't like it. Lots of people do. There is a reason quartz watches bankrupted 90% of the watch industry.
I like my sweeping seconds but I also want my beater beach watch to be set-and-forget, and the quartz is that.
I'll never buy a watch with an octopus 🐙 logo
Why?
