you are a big person, you need a bigger mini.
I like it how mini promote this car to be fun and exciting and yet there is an option for the colour grey which I don't quite understand as well as the fact of its big.

Love the charme of the old Mini and newer three door Cooper version which proved great quality on long roadtrips around Europe, also on high speed parts on the german Autobahn. But was recently in UK when I rented a Countryman Diesel which I didn't like. It looks stupid, sizes is massive outside but inside it's not that great. Maybe not the same type if car but I'm glad I bought a Polo which is not that cool car but really practical to life with and has charme as well, kind of. Sad that Minis needs to be so huge and expensive nowadays.
Good review, nothing to complain about. But still feel its a bit lack luster.

bmw did a great job on the mini and the 1 series i think the 1 series is the best choice of the all( and i dont sure they are in the same category)

Those side window frames...THOSE SIDE WINDOW FRAMES!!!! What is this? 1973?! I bet the guys who designed the infamous MINI that they modeled upon a reversed cap (MINI Coupe) designed this one too.
Those guys deserve a decent mauling. If anyone has spare lions, can you please set them loose in MINI's design offices? Thanks.

Yes, it's beautiful and well proportioned. The thing is that it's not true to itself as a mini. No modern mini is anymore.

That car is an optical ilusion! How the hell can they make a car thats so huge so small on the inside. Seen these new Minis on the road and they are pritty much the same size as a Volvo V70... A small car, i dont think so!
Up to 78 mpg? How is that possible? I know Imperial gallons are bigger that US gallons but not by much. 1 Imperial = 1.2 US gal. 78 = 65. I wish we had more diesel cars in the US. About the only ones available are Audi and VW.
I have a 2012 Countryman S and average 28 mpg, city. A friend has a 2013 Hardtop S and gets 30+ mpg, city.

Horrendous looking car but very fair and honest review. There's no denying that this car was due a long time ago but it simply hasn't got the cute, cheeky looks from the three door anymore
The sensible choice of a family hatchback is never going to be a Mini.
what are BMW Mini Doing again they have shot them self in the foot because there is a new clubman out next year and then no one will buy the clubman over this because the only reason they bought a clubman was for the extra door and even though the new one will have 4-doors and 2 back doors but its going to be silly expensive so well done BMW's Marketing Department.
Because the Clubman and Cooper are to different cars... wither 4 doors or not. I own a hardtop two door and drove a Clubman and a hardtop 4 door. The Hardtop 4 door/2door was a totally different experience than the Clubman. It's not just about a Mini with more doors, however the Clubman is bigger than the Hardtop 4 door. The Clubman is more luxurious than the Hardtop 4 door but not more agile than the 4 door Hardtop. The Clubman is more Stately in manner and the 4 door Hardtop is a Premium mirror of the 2 door Hardtop. From my view... GREAT JOB BMW! I'd personally buy a 2019 Hardtop 2 door and a Clubman for family outings because it's more Stately than the 4 door hardtop, and when i'm with my family i want that feeling of Stateliness. Being said, another person may not desire that feeling and may want a more agile 4 door Hardtop to whip around corners with the family smiling and holding on for dear life (LOL).
She's a really good reviewer, she has the same captive talents as Matt almost, mini does seem defeated with a 5dr, just doesn't set right IMO

Doesn't this go beside the Countryman, or does it replace it? The countrmans had 5 doors for 2 or 3 years now, Mini is Owned by BMW and I must say that the build quality is not that great, it's not bad but definitely not up to BMWs usual standards. We have a countryman 2012 Cooper D ALL4 and it is an expensive car for what they give you, a good car yes but there are better out there.
It's smaller and sits lower than the Countryman. The interior quality is much improved and the engine is now built by BMW, unlike the last gen, which was built by Chrysler.
Rebecca's moved on. Get over it. This was a good review, presented professionally.
I dont think it will hold value, if anything the 2(3) door version will hold more value as its the "original".

That car doesn't deserve the MINI name. Put it side by side to the original MINI then tell us its a mini. Its no longer a mini / very small affordable car.
Rather have a 1series.

We might all hate it, but it's bound to be a great seller...
Those frames on the window doors look terrible, they should have gone with frameless windows like in the 3-door mini.
The side windows are too square. Looks rather cheaply put together.
Is it just me or do some parts of this car look very low quality. Some of the panel gaps, particularly the panel behind the rear doors looks suspect. The side windows and cheap looking rubber seals spoil the look too and the leather and stitching on the seats looks cheap.
My sisters owns a previous generation Mini and whilst it is great fun she is experiencing some problems due to poor build quality.

I got a test drive of this 4 door mini (Cooper S chili) and i can say that
this car is just not for north american market here in south america and probably in europe could have a better place, anyway is a verygood car but price (of the full version) could be a problem

It's all made out of melted down action man figures.. almost everything is hard plastic, almost all knobs and switches are flimsy and crusty when u use them or even mearly touch..
It's interior quality level is somewhere between kia C'eed and Merc a-class (which itself is pretty bad)

I've stepped inside a MINI MK1, the build quality is on point from the first to the current one, but I believe that the 5 door doesn't suit the MINI. MINIs are absolutely fantastic but for interior quality I believe Audis are up there.
***** What? Where did i mention that i expected to see wood or electric seats in Mini? I am speaking about details and overall quality of the interior which is FAR from being mentioned with the words "Premium Feel", and it makes it even worse when she says about it "..being ahead of it's rivals". AGAIN if u have a local Audi dealer nearby go and try out the A3.
Yes I know Minis are equivalent to BMW and Audi are equivalent to VW in the chassis wise etc.

Which fool would chrome accentuate those hideous square side window frames, just keep them black.
Also its not the folk at MINI that decides anything. Its the folk at BMW (Wwho ruined the car) who decide things for this brand now
Massive overpriced car! Has nothing to do with the original and all those extended versions just keep on going further away from the original concept.
And most often driven by the type of women that wear bright colored socks in flats and none in sneakers. No offence ;)
