Both Korg and Yamaha did a wonderful job here. Not much to complain about. It would be nice if the prices could be brought down, but these are well built keyboards. Both have their strengths. Not all sounds can be compared because reverb and EQ is often different and can be adjusted. Yamaha really does a great job with acoustic instruments overall, but I feel Korg has really improved their game in this area as well. Overall the Yamaha PSR-S775 gets a slight nod, but I'd take that Korg too.
For the skeptics, there's a video of a Korg staff presenting the PA1000 at a convention in Germany. Even tough I keep hearing the same difference. Yamaha has better sounds, Korg are good but they don't sound as real. I bought the sx700 and I couldn't believe what was coming from the speakers as I was playing the same I always play, I was astonished. The reason is that Yamaha is a bass, drum, guitar, brass, manufacturer, who would you expect to have better samples. I think probably korg gives you more options, editing, configuring, and more features for the money paid.
I believe the Korg has more in depth editing capabilities than the Yamaha The Korg, you would be to tweak the individual instrument sounds to more warmth, fullness, brighter, etc. Thankyou for the video, very informative.

It's funny that Yamaha sounds brighter in that video, because every single gig I played with Yamaha they just couldn't cut out the mix through full band arrangement
Jeremy: Parts of the DNC on Korg Pa-series are activated by the buttons near the joystick control. This player-guy did not use them at all during this supposed comparison. That's completely unfair to the Korg. If you are making a video on Korg DNC, at least you should know how to activate those sounds from the KB.
@@TungWangJengPanich plus i heard in headphones and could find that korg was mono, that was some error in connectors i guess, so this is not good comparison at all.. both should have been compared with stereo sound
I have to hand it to you Jeremy. Just thrilled! Have ordered the Yamaha S775 (My 3rd Yamaha keyboard purchase) as a result of your great, professional assistance. Really looked closely at KORG and Roland, but Yamaha the best value for me. Ps. Letting Yamaha Sales & Customer Support know about your terrific 'RUclipss.' Cheers.
Hello Jeremy.Love Yamaha.Use Yamaha Clavinova at home .Great value for money.Lovely piano, but as for Live I always used a Korg .Great sounds onstage.Lovely feel robust instrument.Just my opinion.
Both keyboards technically is of high quality, and so is their articulation systems, but Yamaha is far ahead in actually putting some nice instrument samples in the machine that uses the articulation system 100% I generally wouldn't ever buy an small arranger in this price range, but hands down .. the Yamaha have a good selection of the exact same sounds as their top line Tyros 5 /Genos models. I am actually surpriced how much of the sounds that is directly derived from both keyboards bigger brothers. They both sound nice. The Yamaha is still far superior tho soundwise. Not sure how much extra sample sounds you can load into these. But if you go up to the top line .. the Genos / Pa4-pa1000 the problem is the same for Korg. Yamaha totally kills the Korg (and pretty much everything else on the market) out of the box. Their sounds is top notch and the SA system is fairly easy to learn to use. However, if you want to throw a considerably amount in some sample libraries from WaveArts into the Pa4 then it gets interesting cause they are at least on par with Yamaha's sounds if not better. but they are also very expensive, and I don't think that many home musicians will throw maybe the same amount as the keyboard cost itself after these expensive sample libraries, and I kinda don't get Korgs philosophy of throwing keyboards , especially arrangers on the market without a top of the line sample library. I can understand it in the Kronos, wich is a massive and highly complex synth workstation where its up the user to work with the different sound engines, but an arranger ... Those are generally for people that DONT want to spent their time programming sounds, that wanty to select a rhythm accomp, some sounds and start playing right away. Korg really need to up their game here.
Are the 2 so differently master EQd? are both EQ flat or has the Yamaha more treble added? The Yamaha sounds a bit louder also? Yamaha shows more stereo effect and Korg sounds more mono? I wonder if the whole thing is biased to show of the Yamaha, from this I prefer the Yamaha. Is there stereo widening settings on both or non?
I have a question for you Jeremy, Why do you think these arranger keyboards come with a very limited memory.? especially the Korg arrangers? These are not cheap instruments , they cost over $1,000 (US dollars) but come with a memory of barely lousy 200~500 mb, not even 1GB !?? I cannot load a lot of samples to my arranger keyboard because i get a massage stating it has reached its full memory capacity. Nowadays we have super cheap and tiny smart phones that come with a 64~128 GB memory capacity but these expensive and big arranger keyboards can barely hold 250-500 MB ? Most Workstation keyboards do come with abundant memory capacity so why they don't apply the same technology to arrangers? I'd like to know your input on this. Greetings!
I think the tweek of the equalizer of the korg is not well optimized in the output i find not a lot of differences in both it's just for me a question of tweeking the sound. Too bad we do not listen the electric guitar and maybe in this sound we could eared many diferences. Nice video 🙏👍😏
Good morning and thank you for this wonderful video. I just sold my Korg PA 600 and I’m planning to buy either pay 700 or 1000 I know the 1000 it’s about $600 more. But if I brought pick up P 700 am I still in advantage as for the arranger is concerned
thanks for what you do Jeremy... it's because of you that I ended up purchasing the Kork Ek-50.... also because it was a great deal.... when I outgrow that korg.. I'm pretty sure that I will end up with either the pa700 or the pa1000... also greetings from Canada..
How does the S. Art Piano sound on this keyboard behave compared to those on Yamaha digital pianos(e.g. P515). Does the keyboard produce sympathetic/cabinet resonance while playing?
Great Video. I'm in a Debate now on what 76 keyboard I wanna get but I need Features that will fit in my play style. I was wondering if you could do a Video for Korg PA4X and Yamaha Genos? I'm having a hard time to tell which sounds is better. But Korg seems to have better features than Yamaha
Jeremy sir I've been following u and impressed much with your advices. Could u plz suggest me as a first time purchaser and beginner which keyboard should I go for.. I'm an Indian classical player and composer. It's going to be my first keyboard so which one korg pa700 or yamaha psr S775.. though they're professional keyboards, I'm looking for a long term. Please it would be great if u help me. Thankyou.
Korg is the best. I'm using both the keyboards . With the DNC sounds korg is the best. U also get chord sequencer where u can loop a rhythm pattern and can play freely. Korg is way better
I went with the Korg PA700 but sometimes I like the crispiness of the Yamaha in some instruments. But what have been mentioned previously, I also feel like it is more of an EQ setting for the most part. Now the Korg is actually way over my head in terms of functionality and I'm sure there is an EQ I can adjust (I need to read the manual, right? :D) but honestly, both are impressive at its level. Now, if only I can have my skills match what these keyboards can do, that would be great.
Hi Sir, Can you please help me with pa700 As I got couple of Questions. 1) How can I increase (upper octave) for ("Lower" voice BACKING) 2) can I use Hold button for ("Lower" voice BACKING) for more than 10 measures? Hi Jeremy. It was interesting to hear how you recognized all those instrument. I learned from this. I guess only a profesional would recognize different sounds. For me both pianos sounded great. (in one of your videos you said you were 40, i though you were 25 or something 😁)
Even on a RUclips video thru some so so ok Logitech speakers, Its clear to hear the diff on most of the sounds. Especially the Pianos demoed were kinda dull and muffled on the Korg. The Yamaha Piano is much more clear and will cut thru the mix much better. A darker sounding Piano can still be usefull for some styles and especially for solo Piano pieces, but in a mix its common used to enhance the mid and top of a piano and cut some of the low end, if you feel it doesn't "cut thru" the mix in eg solo parts. Its where you often as a beginner make the mistake of just turning up the level way too much for a solo part, wich often isn't an ideal solution, as if you play live with a band, there's a high chance that the others will think they are too low and turning their volume up too :) But Its also kinda hard to make these comparisons, cause maybe the guy that adjusted the chosen sound from the factory just didn't wanted the same sound as you or me, and maybe you just needed to eq it a bit, or adjusting a filter to make it sound brighter. Ears are very different
HI Jeremy, I hope that you had a nice time in Hong-Kong. Interesting video as usual. Quite frankly, even though there might be more frills and thrills in the Yamaha SA sounds, globally I like the Korg much better. The comparison gives the feeling that the PSR S775 is brighter so that it will suit a one-man band and help him/her convince his/her public, while the Korg PA700 seems more pro and the sounds are leaving more space for other musicians. The Yamaha samples seem to have been there for ages, even in the middle range of keyboards. By the way, are you happy with your Yamaha headphones and what model are you using on this video? I need new headphones to play with the DGX650 and the Casio CT-X800 and Yamaha came to my mind. Will you do some more tutorials ? I am currently learning Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” and the sheet music and video tutorial you made is really helpful. Have a nice Sunday 😎
I had a great time eating great food and spending time with friends and family in Hong Kong. The headphones came with my Clavinova so I used it. It isn't the best, frankly. Your research will show you better alternatives. I love to do more tutorials. But the analytics shows that they don't do well, and it takes a very long preparation time to make the tutorials and supporting materials. Have a great week ahead, my friend
I live in middle east I mean I'm gonna play some Persian and Turkish music. I'm beginner and want to buy a keyboard! Which keyboard should I buy? I mean I can buy these easily in my country yamaha S775- S970- S975-- korg pa 700- pa600qt- pa900 which one is okay between these? I'm beginner right now but I want keep the keyboard for at least 4 years Thank you
Good video! I am a big fan of your videos, but in this one I think you've left some unanswered questions. 1. Yamaha sounds stereo, while Korg sounds mono. Why? Because Korg isn't capable of outputting in stereo, or because you branched your equipment this way? (I'm not a Korg "advocate", I'm just curious.) 2. It's obvious that you compare the voices "as they come", i.e. with their default preset effects, EQs and settings on. You don't bother removing these, or at least try to mention which ones are present for the particular voice. When you compare voices that have effects and EQs applied, wouldn't it be better to have effects comparison too? Or, if not, comparison of the "pure" voices w/o effects? 3. OK, I understand that the Yamaha guitars were SA voices, but I didn't understand which Korg voices were DNC. Were all Korg voices DNC? Maybe if the screens of both keyboards were visible, it would be easier for us to see. In plus, you are mentioning about the screens color and touch response.
DNC were not used at all on KORG because they are activated by small buttons to the left above the joystick, as other people here in the discussion write correctly. They are not used in the video. So the complete failure of the presenter. The display on the Yamaha is not touch, it is controlled only by the buttons on the side, which is very inconvenient. . I tried both tools myself and bought a KORG PA 700, because it has many more programming options than YAMAHA. With the PA 700, the user can define every sound parameter, which is not possible with Yamaha, there is part of the parameters inaccessible for editing.
Been trying to figure out if the EQ difference on Korg could actually surpass Yamaha sound, especially those extra details on the Yamaha SA sounds. I have been looking up on the internet the opinion is very mixed, but many pointed out that tweaking Korg enough will make it sound better than Yamaha. I want to know how much of it is true. Sigh.
He's not using the articulation buttons on the KORG, hence the "dry flat" sounds on the instruments, particularly on the guitars. Not a fair play. At any rate, the KORG is the telecaster, YAMAHA on the other hand, is the stracoster of keyboards. It's the closest I can get to comparing these two.
Hi Jeremy, I currently have Yamaha PSR-I455 and as now I'm in Grade 6, I'm planning to upgrade my keyboard. But, I'm really confused between PSR-S975 and PSR-S775. I don't sing, so the VH2 chip is of no use to me. Will the extra voices and styles be of any use in my Trinity exams? Or should I buy the PSR-S775 over the PSR-S975? Will the PSR-S775 satisfy my needs? I have no plans of recording or production. Thanks in advance, Parth
Is the sound quality of the psr s775 decreased when it is connected to amplifier speakers? Which would you recommend for playing in social gathering or party through a sound system? Thanks for any information you have.
I think it is wrong comparison. Korg's sound seemed to be like mono as if some option is turned off, while Yamaha sounds with some surround effect. Absolutely incorrect comparison. Jeremy, you didn't hear that?
You are 100 percent right, Yamaha for musical instrument samples, and reliable over the years, Korg for technology, operating system, and features, I have both
Both keyboard is someway better better ,, but I want to say in this purpose ... if the sample length , sounds quality is important for you , I want to go for yamaha and korg ,, whatever some-others offered more in low prices ( Casio 😝)
Seems to me that the player is playing the pa700 more softly, also the pa700 is in mono whereas the psr is in stereo. It sounds to me that whatever is used to mix has the treble turned down,
The KORG PA Series definitely has better sound quality compared to the PSR keyboards. The PSR keyboards has better styles. Apart from the sound, There are so many things which can be done on a PA series keyboard. The Sky is the limit with such korg arranger keyboards. I own both PSR and Korg Keyboards. This is my personal opinion. equally respect both keyboards.
i have a pa 600 , pa 800 and a micro arranger korg. they sound nothing like this video. if you pay attention the EQ for the yamaha is brighter, and has more volume. I love yamaha products, i have a yamaha acoustic piano, an acoustic yamaha guitar and a bass electric yamaha ( i prefer yamaha bass guitar over fender). However i have always preferred KORG arrengers over yamaha. Sounds dont feel nothing like this video. and the rythms are way more natural on the korg than yamaha.
Yamaha psrs775 has little better sound but I would buy the korg pa700 because it has Powerful speakers and very bass full and if a sound doesn't sound realistic you can edit it and then it sounds much better and with a touchscreen is much easier but both keyboards are great
No doubt the yamaha keyboard has more realist sounds in general. However, both keyboards are arranges and the sounds only represent a fifth of what these keyboards can do. To make a fair comparison we would have a expand it to all the features and that's where the Korg keyboard wins. Without even playing anything, Korg's touch screen is an immediate deal breaker especially if you are a one man band. It helps a lot during a live presentation, your fingers don't have to take extra steps, you just touch the screen and viola !
The real point of this video is to flex on us how u can tell what voice is being used by just listening to it. 🤣 Like “dude using a rock organ on yamaha, but using different organ on korg” bruh. Thats too pro.
kowni know what an arranger is..i had the idea but i want so sure..hehe one man band ei, more like a DJ on piano..im gonna have to practice more on using accompaniment;)

I am a big fan of your videos, but in this one I think you've left some unanswered questions.

You need an stereo adapter converter
I heard the speaker system on the Pa700 is not that good as on the yamaha psr s and sx700, is that tru ?
Been trying to figure out if the EQ difference on Korg could actually surpass Yamaha sound, especially those extra details on the Yamaha SA sounds.
I have been looking up on the internet the opinion is very mixed, but many pointed out that tweaking Korg enough will make it sound better than Yamaha.
I want to know how much of it is true. Sigh.
Tweeting Korg sounds is a 💯% guarantee that you will get the sound the best from korg
But I don't know why Korg doesn't make some tweaking
@@jaisonjose5481 i just modified the eq sound of my piano korg pa700 and it sounds better than yamaha
Hi Jeremy, im from india which one is the best keyboard Yamaha psr s975 or korg pa1000. Which one should I buy ? Please give me your suggestion.
Bro definitely Korg pa a 1000.. I am a Yamaha psr s950 user
Does the pa700 have Chinese instruments?
The Korg is mono audio whilst the Yamaha is stereo?
You have to ask the shop that recorded this.
I just got the Yamaha s775 its a beast I have the Korg pa900 and the s775 way better
Korg pa 700 vs Roland fa 06
Which keybord is better ?
Please comment your opinion.
Korg is original in keyboard world.....
I am the proud owner of korg pa700
He's not using the articulation buttons on the KORG, hence the "dry flat" sounds on the instruments, particularly on the guitars. Not a fair play. At any rate, the KORG is the telecaster, YAMAHA on the other hand, is the stracoster of keyboards. It's the closest I can get to comparing these two.
Hi
How to download yamaha keyboard voice install make one video. sir
havve you tried tyros 4 ?
Is he going through the General Midi Sounds like the stock 128 sounds. Is that what these are ?
Hi Jeremy,
I currently have Yamaha PSR-I455 and as now I'm in Grade 6, I'm planning to upgrade my keyboard.
Thanks in advance,
Parth
BTW, in India, you can get the PSR-S775 for Rs.65000 or around $940 and the PSR-S975 for Rs.88000 or around $1275.
S775 is more than sufficient to complete every Trinity Grade up to Diploma
Thanks Sir,
You're doing a great job guiding us.
Please next time use on korg DNC then you can comparise...
How the best? in s775 (or) pa700?
Is the sound quality of the psr s775 decreased when it is connected to amplifier speakers? Which would you recommend for playing in social gathering or party through a sound system? Thanks for any information you have.
The quality of your speakers will determine the output.
i have a korg pa700 and i just adjusted the EQ and the piano sounds much better than yamaha here in the video so
I think it is wrong comparison. Korg's sound seemed to be like mono as if some option is turned off, while Yamaha sounds with some surround effect. Absolutely incorrect comparison. Jeremy, you didn't hear that?
Hi Jeremy.
Hv you tried ctx3000? Look fwd for your review ☺ thx
I have reviewed the CT-X5000 which is very similar to CT-X3000. Have a look. ruclips.net/video/f_yRGyeIwuE/видео.html
Pls do review of Yamaha mx 61
Hey
I am planning to buy a keyboard. Yamaha sx700 or Korg pa600 ?which one is better ? Could anyone please help me out?
yamaha sx700 definitely
Korg 600 sucks
Are there any synth lead sounds like a sawtooth lead
im using psr 170 and im glad have psr 775 thangks god alhamdulillah........
Please, this kybord is not orientale ? Yamaha s 775. Thank you
Hey Jeremy...I will be grateful and thankful if you would make a comparison between korg pa1000 vs korg pa700. Cheers
You are 100 percent right, Yamaha for musical instrument samples, and reliable over the years, Korg for technology, operating system, and features, I have both
Is there any other way to adjust the tempo of accompaniment other than the Tap button on the Korg Pa 700?
Yes, you can change the tempo numerically.
Thanks Jeremy for all your help. Blessings to you from our maker
what do we mean by psr in yamaha?
Both keyboard is someway better better ,, but I want to say in this purpose ... if the sample length , sounds quality is important for you , I want to go for yamaha and korg ,, whatever some-others offered more in low prices ( Casio 😝)
Is that the same as PSR S700? Different country? (S700 in U.S. - no S775.)
S775 replaces S700 and SX700 replaces S775. S700 & S775 are no longer in production.
Is the PA900 better than pa700..
Korg is better ....if you adjust the sound from the setting section you can make the sound more sharper or brighter on korg pa700 ..I have one already
Very nice korg pa700ort i have soon im record latino music
Seems to me that the player is playing the pa700 more softly, also the pa700 is in mono whereas the psr is in stereo. It sounds to me that whatever is used to mix has the treble turned down,
Yup! Recording by AC Hamilton and it's not a good mix.
@@JeremySee Perhaps he gets a higher commission for selling the Yammys! :)
Thanks for sharing!
i have a pa 600 , pa 800 and a micro arranger korg. they sound nothing like this video. if you pay attention the EQ for the yamaha is brighter, and has more volume.
You still get my like because took the time to make videos to help people out
Yamaha psrs775 has little better sound but I would buy the korg pa700 because it has
Powerful speakers and very bass full
and if a sound doesn't sound realistic you can edit it and then it sounds much better
and with a touchscreen is
much easier but both keyboards are great
I want Korg brand coz the majority of the people are usig Yamaha 😊
No doubt the yamaha keyboard has more realist sounds in general. However, both keyboards are arranges and the sounds only represent a fifth of what these keyboards can do. To make a fair comparison we would have a expand it to all the features and that's where the Korg keyboard wins. Without even playing anything, Korg's touch screen is an immediate deal breaker especially if you are a one man band. It helps a lot during a live presentation, your fingers don't have to take extra steps, you just touch the screen and viola !
Yamaha is with limited sources but Honble Korg is with unlimited access with Miracles....
is yamaha psr e313 good or bad for total begginer (me)
E313 is fine for beginners.
N pls do riview of yamaha dgx 660 aswell sir pls
Korg for sound quality and Yamaha for all the other features
PA 1000 MY FAVORITE KEYBOARD HY FRO MEXICO
Do Korg arrangers display the chord you are playing as my yamaha psr-s910 does?
Yes.
@@JeremySee Thanks. I havent seen it from the RUclips videos i watched.
U r back from Hong Kong
Yup! Thanks for watching buddy.
cough, i see that yamaha logo on your ear...
anyway, in this comparison the yamaha seems to have an edge
🤣 I used whatever headphones is given to me. Yup, the S775 is still a very capable arranger.
My conclusion is
Corg has better rhythm sound and punchier. And Yamaha has better and more realistic voices sound.
Yamaha is the winner👍😎 also to my knowledge Korg just probably didn’t update their samples yet👍
I like it korg pa 700
Both are the same price JEREMY?
About the same.
The real point of this video is to flex on us how u can tell what voice is being used by just listening to it. 🤣 Like “dude using a rock organ on yamaha, but using different organ on korg” bruh. Thats too pro.
I think yamaha is better.. Buy one and try it first..
Korg sampling not as good as Yamaha that's why they throw in more features and selling slightly cheaper to attract people buying their arranger.
kowni know what an arranger is..i had the idea but i want so sure..hehe one man band ei, more like a DJ on piano..im gonna have to practice more on using accompaniment;)
now that sounds quite better than my e363 or is it the sustain effect? 2:81
The yamaha looks like it sounds better than the Px4 as well dude. 😂. Should have bought the Genos or the Tyros 4. Yum.....
Super Articulation - Yamaha
Defined Nuance Control - Korg
Multi-Dimensional / Linear Morphing - Casio
Same technology, different branding. Casio's naming is actually quite cool
Like comparing a Mercedes with Vaz 🌷🌷😜
