I have owned the Korg PA700 for about a year now; I bought it brand new. I tried many other arranger keyboards and actually own 4 arrangers still (the PA700, 2 Roland E-09's (these were my previous arrangers being used live; one was a backup for the other in case of failure) and a Roland BK-5). I use my arranger professionally every day in my business and I will say that the Korg beats anything that I have played up to this point. It is not fair to compare this unit to anything priced higher (like the PA4X, Tyros or Genos), but this unit hits well above its price with other models up to around the $2k mark.
The stock pianos are not the quality that I would use though. This is why I loaded a Yamaha piano sample and it is my 'go to' piano for playing solo piano or piano/strings. Yamaha has nailed the piano sound (and they should, since they started by making pianos anyway over a hundred years ago).
The rhythms and the ability to customize anything within the PA700 is fantastic. The EFX section is great and there is life to this board that I've not found on any other arranger that I have ever had. The sounds come to life on this unit if you add a bit of reverb and add a bit of high end to the global EQ settings.
I have been able to load in sounds/styles from previous PA keyboards and have also been able to load in sounds/styles from the PA1000 and PA4x keyboard as well (more styles than sounds, to be honest). I have also been able to load in styles from other brands of arrangers as well and they sound very good; albeit with a bit of sound tweaking.
The PA700 is a seriously deep instrument and is worthy of the time that will be needed to really get to know it. Like I said, I have owned mine for about a year now, have used it every day, and there are still parts of the keyboard that I have not gotten into.
As far as my experience goes, I have been playing for over 40 years and playing professionally for around 30 years in almost every genre of music. I have owned studios and have owned many different synths (I still own about 16 of them from different brands, including Ensoniq, Korg, Roland, Lowrey and Yamaha). I have no problem bringing my PA700 as a main keyboard for any gig and it's MIDI capabilities and sequencer are quite versatile. I am very happy with the Korg PA700.
Do you know of any modules for the 700 especially for strings and brass? Still looking for something more real. Thank you!
Spot on
How do you load a sample on to korg
@@vikaskulkarnir2664 the manual tells you how to do it. That is how I do it when I load samples. I do not really load samples into my Pa700 except for a piano sample set that was already processed. The manual will explain how to do it.
@@shawnaebbeson7882 Thanks for replying!
I've searched the manual but I couldn't find one, they've mentioned about loading a style but not voice.
Also where do you find samples to load on to PA700.
I've heard people saying that they'll load Yamaha's voices onto korg and they have a ‘yamakorg', or rather load sounds onto pa700 from pa4x where do you get these files
I've been looking at both of these and this is exactly the video i was looking for, so thank you!
I think i'm going to go with the Korg, it's mainly orchestral instruments i'm looking for and they sound incredible on the Korg. It's just a really cool looking machine too!
Great demo, very well present two keyboards.
Thanks a lot
Thanks brother
6:08 OMG Amazing
Especially @ 6:28 awesome
Korg - full strings & brass. Yamaha - sax ... all the rest a matter of personal preference - both really cool - just different imo
Both are good.
Depend on what kind of songs would you play and the genre. Yamaha the sound so clear and piercing. But the Korg sound come from "the deep", like a "sound of soul".
Korg sounds can be edited such that it feels way better than yamaha
u r right, but Yamaha always has 8 tone in registration memory & 4 tones in one touch memory, so we have 14 tone out of screen in Yamaha, but in Korg we only have 4 tone on buttons out of screen,, so what u suggest fro korg to have more tones on easy change? please guide me. i wana purchase a new keyboard so whats i will purchase
Both boards are fantastic and I would take either with no hesitation. I might favor the Korg, but both just blow me away. Yamaha is so good at the acoustic sounds and Korg has really upped their game there as well. Korg has great synth patches. Both have amazing OS and touch screens and tons of features for style creation, recording, and mixing your sets. I'd take either. If I was to go Yamaha I would go with the PSR-SX700 since I think that is newer.
can you make a demo on the style called bubblegum pop and 16 beat ballad ... on yamaha psr S770... thanks
Both have their own voice features. It's really hard to determine which one is better.
If I have to view my opinion as an acoustic/electric guitar player I have to say that the Yamaha sounds like the Taylor guitars, more crisp and on the treble heavy side...while Korg PA700 is like how Martin guitars sound, more bass oriented and warm... They are both great instruments but I have to go with the PA700 because of the warmth....
Nicely balanced review. I'm in the market for either one of these two. Historically over the years I have always leaned towards the Yamaha mainly because of its ease of use. And up until this review, I'd more or less made up my mind to go with the Yamaha. Its sounds are bright, clear and crisp. But perhaps too crisp. The Korg sounds have a warm softer feel which in some instances I do prefer. So finances permitting, I think I will go for the Korg....Something different I suppose.
Can you let me know how to split sounds piano and organ on Korg EK 50
Hello! Please tell me, what are the keys - synthesizer KORG Pa 700: semi-weighted or unweighted? What is the stiffness of the keyboard?
Hi. Please find the full specifications at the following link: www.korg.com/uk/products/synthesizers/pa700/specifications.php
Sounds like there was a significant difference in equalizer and reverb settings between the two instruments for this video. That gets us into the realm of comparing 'apples and oranges'. That being said I think any sonic differences could be down to listener's preferences and could be adjusted to taste. From a user interface and features point of view I believe Korg is the clear winner here. I own both of these instruments, a Casio X500 and a Korg Kronos 2
Concert guitar melts my heart
Hi can you do one comparing the organ virtual drawbars.
I am Interested in the Organ sounds. Perhaps You can Show them in an extra Video.???
I had KORG PA 700 but unfortunately I had to return it due to display glitches. Dipsplay suddenly starts to be uncontrollable, with whose instrument. Does Yamaha SX 700 have the same issues with display?
I have had an issue ocassionally with the Yamaha display switching back to previous screen when working with the screen. I have had 2 Yamaha psr 700. The 1st one had usb connection malfunction and I use that a lot. The second the keyboard failed but it will still play midi files. $1.5K is all I can afford to spend. I'm tired of Yahama's issues. I can't afford to have a backup keyboard when one fails. I use mine weekly in church. seriously considering a Korg even though I like the sounds of a yamaha.
Which has the better key bed for piano playing?
Both super
Korg wins on piano, strings, and violin, Yamaha on the other sounds.
I would buy both if the player comes with it. Vow, this guy is amazing ❤️❤️❤️
Korg keyboards have the best strings and Yamaha the best piano tones. It really is up to each person's preferences, I prefer Korg also because it is a lot more affordable too.
Yamaha is a little bit clear but for live performance I choose Korg and with a PA you can add reverb and equalization that will fix the difference
Hallo,, very nice am asking about the price of psr 770
Hello, which one is easier to learn the features and functions? Korg or Yamaha?
Jim Ng Korg
Jim Ng yamaha
Yamaha
2:43 and 3:03 I love this sound
Amigo para ti cual es mejor gracias ando queriendo comprar uno pero no decido cual me sujieres saludos
Juan Amador el korg
el Korg es mejor esta en primer puesto
For techno who Is better?
very difficult to pick one over the other. I have been disappointed in Korg's acoustic piano sounds on several Korg boards that I've owned. So..??
Which is best for church
korg has the ability to make styles from MIDI files
Yes It can
Yamaha Piano sound makes my heart melt!!!!!!
Yamaha is the winner of most sound or Tone quality ti is more pleasant sound than Korg, except KORG's full strings tone superb,
also, alive show Yamaha PSR is more alive and enjoyable on touching with big touch clear buttons fory playing rather than touching Korg's tiny knobs for music fillings and touch screen (which is only good for a smartphone or Tablets)
Yamaha wins hands down... I looked at the Korg when I purchased my PSR-S770 and I am certainly glad I did not choose it and went with the Yamaha. The Yamaha is a much better instrument... and the action feels so much better as well - even though they’re both just an ‘organ type’ action...Great review!
It's hard to decide...but I go with Yamaha cuz it's user friendly than Korg
I like pa1000. The sound so beauty
I have the Pa4X, the Kronos 2 and the Sv2-S 88... All are wonderful. I have also the Montage8, the Fantom8, the Modx7 and others... Each instrument has it's interest.
I have the s 770
The Yamami in the category of sounds LIVE means that the sounds are taken from the instruments playing live, Cool is slightly worse than the live ones, and Sweet is worse than Cool, but vseravno is very much at the proper level. I had 25 synthesizers on my hands and can judge the quality of performance, functions, sound and styles.
Moim zdaniem nie mozna stwierdzic który instrument jest lepszy kwestia ustawien
Psr s770 or psr s950 which is better please suggest
S 770 it more digital system realistic sound
770 it more digital system and more style
Toco a 36 anos , ja tive korg , yamaha , technics , roland , etc ! Mais tenho que dizer ... a yamaha esta Arrebentando ! O korg ta choco , sem vida ... tive um pa600 ... que decepção . Vendi rapido ! A yamaha ta com Brilho , cheio de vida ... ( E AS BATERIAS ... QUE SHOW ) .
Pity there was no demonstration of the Hammond B3 from the Korg.
Good🌹
Psr s770 fabulous
Korg is highly concentrated Yamaha is interesting inspirations....
Nothing is better coz they are both good. i have both. And each of them has pros and cons.
Agree.
Sell the Korg 700 to me my Instagram account is _.adrian_.santiago

I think both are excellent choices. From my Point of view, Yamaha had the nicer voices and Korg had the better styles.
I prefer Korg...
Korg Supper
Many times I preferred the sound of the Yamaha over the Korg

KORG win !!!
Korg круто звучит, но выглядит внешне не очень его коричневая панель
Korg win only on strings .
But , if you search some info, you will find that the Yamaha often win on classical sounds and korg win on electronic sounds. (Sorry if i do some grammar errors)
Yamaha ❤️👍🏼
I own a Pa700 and I'll tell you one thing, Yamaha is the winner for me.
