Swandiva hey girl, normally you get your fabric from a company that is not the cut/sew location. To answer your question, yes you would put the company's name in that section that you are sourcing your fabric from.
First watched this video 4 years ago and would watch every blue moon as a refresher.. now I finally bought your tech pack and filling out for a customer .. you are still my favorite fashion RUclipsr, w.e you do, please keep making videos 😭🤍🤍🤍
wow... ths is smthing really interesting and new... learnt so sooooooo much... i had no idea how much details we need to wrk out fr a collection... thank u so much zoe......💕💕💕💕💕💕💕😊😊😊😊😊😊
Hi Zoe, when are your other videos coming. I am in the process of making techpacks. I am a new bee in this but your videos have helped a lot. So grateful of all the efforts you put in explaining. Ill be downloading your samples on etsy, my way of supporting you!
Thank you for all your interesting and informative videos! Could you ask Kathleen her thoughts on the current political climate and how it could impact fashion manufacturing? Is she doing something to prepare for potential turmoil/ changes in tariffs etc?
Sourcing/Cost for materials question- am I expected to know how much materials are needed for each garment when I present my tech pack to the manufacturer? Ex. “This much yarn is needed to make a L of this garment”. I don’t know how to determine that, hence me using the manufacturer. So how would I determine that without having to make each garment myself and figure it out? Who do I go to to help me figure that out so that I can determine the cost per garment size? Would I need to have my materials for the particular garment present for someone to determine how much of it is needed? -Thanks!
Wow thank you so much for these, I'm currently finalizing my SS17 collection and I was attempting to make these on my own, I will use yours and do you mind if I translate them to french? (for me because my manufacturers are french speaking). Thank you soo much *hops on etsy*
You're welcome! I hope you got my etsy message that I encourage users to translate and modify to fit their needs and that's why I sell the original Excel spreadsheet that you can edit. Good luck with your collection!
Hi Zoe, I was wondering do manufactures make patterns/samples from just a tech pack or do you need to send them the patterns of the garment you want them to make for you ? thank you
I know this video was a while ago but for the sheets do I need to leave the columns blank if say I don't have a lining or anything. or do I delete the row if it doesn't apply
HI Zoe, Thanks for this wonderful video. Can you please help me with the correct costing for a sample as per industry level for production. how to order exact quantity for fabric, trims and labels cost effectively. Please explain these details in your next video if possible for you. Thanks With luv
+Ellen Reynolds it's the second fabric in the same garment, like if you have a wool jacket with leather sleeves, the leather would be the contrast, regardless of colors.
Hi Zoe! Would love to support your channel and the translation initiative but I cant seem to find the support button?! Is there any other site to contribute from?
Season is spring, summer, etc. Category depends on how the company categorizes their garments. Pants, tops, dresses. Or bigger companies will get really specific: boys knit tops, mens woven tops, etc. Description is a basic description of the garment.
I work for a lingerie company and we basically don't do half of these things lol. It's underwear, so much of this is either unnecessary or extremely simplified! It all depends on what you are creating :)
hiiii zoooee ooh myy goosh i was about to cry when i saw my name on this videoo its totaly amaziiiing Im shocked its like Beyonce tagg me ha ha ha ha taanks so so much lovely teacher from the deep of my heart ill never end to tank u for the change u made in me
If you have a blue blouse with a white collar, the blue fabric is your self fabric, you main fabric. The white fabric is your contrast fabric. It's a fabric that's used on the outside of the garment but is not the one used the most. You can have more than 1 contrast fabric on a garment.
I know everyone's tech pack is different but mine is so much more detailed that Im concerned now its too much. I have like 4 pages of callouts for front, back, internal (front and back). I have a page for seams and stitches, a BOM, POM, TRIM diagram, Labels, packaging, and colorway (which I have no clue where to start with Pantone colors and how it relates to my fabric choice **sigh**). My design is kinda complicated because things need to line up and connect plus measurements and placements need to be exact for functional reasons but still its pretty simple looking. Anyone reading this, if you know someone experienced who does tech pack consulting -- look over tech packs for a fee, please let me know. Zoe are you interested? Thanks.
Some garments require more information. The important thing is to make sure you have no contradicting information. I don't know anyone who's looking at tech packs right now.
amaziing video cant wait for the next one oh i was thinkin if you have a group on Facebook where we can meet between subscribers so we can maybe exchange ideas fashion talks etc Just after having courses with u tanks much love

All production facilities offer different services. Some do full service sampling, some only do production runs, etc etc.
Incredibly helpful! Thanks for these videos!
You're welcome!
I know this video was a while ago but for the sheets do I need to leave the columns blank if say I don't have a lining or anything. or do I delete the row if it doesn't apply
I put a dash or "n/a" in the space so that people know that I didn't accidentally leave it blank.

Hi thanks for the video, I was a bit confused about contrast, I presume it's a second fabric in a contrasting colour is that right?
+Ellen Reynolds it's the second fabric in the same garment, like if you have a wool jacket with leather sleeves, the leather would be the contrast, regardless of colors.
thank you :)

Just realized it was because only a handful of countries are allowed to participate in RUclips Fan Funding payments....
Aw, bummer! Thanks for trying though!
It’s like building and engine. 👍
Great job 👏
Tnx
I took this long to watch because I had anxiety about getting my Tech pack together and it seems pretty simple 🤦🏾♀️
Conquering anxiety is hard! Good luck!
Smoke some weed keep your mind at ease
😂
What does Season, Category and Description mean on the top of the page???
Season is spring, summer, etc. Category depends on how the company categorizes their garments. Pants, tops, dresses. Or bigger companies will get really specific: boys knit tops, mens woven tops, etc. Description is a basic description of the garment.
