trust me even if they had spoken in their own accent without trying to force a so called Indian accent they still could have pulled it up. Now definitely I understand they wanted to add that funny flavor with this choice but I think it went a lil too much. Overall it looks good though.

My folks were progressive and encouraged us to branch out of the "Indian" stereotype, often portrayed in the media, to see this is 2024 is a heartbreaking.
I'm an Indian born in Canada and this doesn't represent us NRIs, diaspora, OR anyone I know "fresh off the boat". I'm so confused by what decade this is supposed to represent, and which audience this was meant for. Hollywood needs to start taking notes from the UK and Canada when it comes to diaspora portrayals. Because this is so not it. Sindhu and Sahana are awesome, they deserve better

I first heard Sindhu V on a BBC podcast many years ago where she was talking about how she was influenced by the life of Prince. I didn’t know much about her back then, but I was like, “Wow, here’s an Indian woman who loves Prince just like me!” I’m sure she also loves Purple Rain. Later, I came across one of her comedy skits where she joked about her parenting style being so different from her Danish husband’s. She said if she looked up her parenting methods online, she’d be in jail-that was hilarious! Sindhu V is amazing, and I hope her new movie, The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh, turns out to be great!

This is great, happy to see. The film Growing Up Smith (also on Prime with Jason Lee from My Name is Earl) helped open doors for this show and many like it. Houghton was the original creator. A Growing Up Smith series was actually shopped around with Alec Baldwin, had even been discussed with Lorne Michaels.
I feel ya. India also has a diversity of accents and Westerners only know like 1 Indian accent. It's hard for a lot of people in the west to grasp the amount of diversity in India. More representation will help.

It us made for you . Not for the actual indians living in india . A lot of your parents might had same starting point . So you might relate to it ,we might not . Indians in india are pretty different right now as compared to before . We have now all types of people ,i am talking about both rural and urban areas . Both areas now have people with old views,people with new views ,people with views in between, liberal people ,communist people ,naxal people ,really nationlist people ,really religious people ,pretty non religious people and lots of people with different kind of thinking.

It's great to have representation like this on TV.
You have people from all over the world on shows all the time, but very rarely do we get to see a representation of Pennsylvanians. You know it's just it's nice to hear the Pennsylvania accent and to see Pennsylvania license plates, and cities, things like that. We've had enough of Californians and New Yorkers.
What about The Office?
This was peak cringe. The way the characters speak are not accurate at all to how Indians “fresh off the boat” would be speaking. This is such a white man’s lens or gentrification of the Indian immigration experience.
Contrived…feels like the 80’s stereotypes. It’s like they missed the last 40 years. And here we thought the Simpsons was outdated😂
