That scene where kratos are rushing into tyr temple to get atreus back with thus theme playing i can tell santa monica really did a very impressive job cause i can feel the scare to lose and desperation of kratos wanted to save his only child
The sense of panic as Kratos runs across the bridge to get to the World Tree… all while knowing that if Baldur succeeds, the gates of Asgard would be waiting for them on the other side. I really like how in this game, Thor and Odin are only ever mentioned. It gives it this feeling that throughout the whole game, they’re just… watching you, planning on how to deal with Kratos.
That's exactly the feeling I got! When the dragon flew over the temple I already knew that Baldur was no longer on it and had landed on the temple. When Kratos started running I immediately realized that we would be in real trouble if Baldur reached Asgard. Thor, Odin and Asgard's army would stand at the gates, take Atreus and beat Kratos down. The music kicked in and I got chills. When I realized that Kratos made us go to Helheim instead of Asgard, I felt a mixed sense of relief but also sadness because I knew we would never get to see Asgard or maybe not until the next game.
Not gonna lie: first time playing this, I legit got up out of my seat and stood up rooting for Kratos. The music went absolutely perfect with how seamless the cutscenes and gameplay were
@@ExecutorExe-RIPBozos The first time Kratos and Baldur had a 1v1 at the very beginning, Kratos already killed him, it just happened that he's immortal at that time. He's neck got snapped.
Love it. Hey, just noticed, Baldurs theme is playing for a good part, then Kratos comes in with his, with sttong volume and pounding, like his power. The cold uncaring nature of a man unable to die yet nothing to live for and the tempered fire of love by the man that loses his temper when his son is being hurt. And once Baldurs theme tries to reinsert itself as superior, you can practically feel the closeness of Kratos not giving him space to even do so for a moment
There are. It's not just the music that gets you feeling, "Oh s***, someone just stole the person I love most and is about to kill them," but it is also everything else surrounding the piece. Better put, everything this piece surrounds is what gives you that feeling Sure, the composition with the staccatoed strings and frantic rising and falling of the notes gives the feeling of uneasiness and rush, but with the context of Kratos rushing after Baldur to save Atreus, you now feel a sense of dread and urgency in fear of losing the one you love most. TL;DR, It's not just the music, it's the context surrounding it too
The soundtrack for every Give me God of War difficulty run with the Zeus armor (where you are, literally, a one-shot glass cannon) Every encounter is basically this.
I can't WAIT until Ragnarok! The hype is OUTSTANDING, and I KNOW that Santa Monica will not let us down, because they NEVER HAVE!!! God of War is my favorite franchise of all time. And I feel that the best God of War game EVER is right around the fucking corner. LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOO!!
It's good, and they do a good job at making you feel things, I will put this in a way without spoilers, you have to do the full ending to get this A hole
When I played through that, I forgot it was a game, and I forgot I wasn't Kratos. All I could think was "Baldur is taking my boy to Asgard. If I do not get there fast, I will never see him again."
When you can’t find your wallet in your pocket and now you frantically start looking through your other pockets hoping you just checked the wrong pocket
You know what would be cool? Fighting Odin and Thor at the same time as Odin tries to steal Atreus, going from realm to realm as Kratos does some absolutely whack shit. Whistling super loud for Fenrir, having the good boyo open a portal as they both go through. Realm after realm, Thor trying to slow him down as Odin is trying to take knowledge from Atreus's mind.
I liked how Atreus shoot his own dad and Kratos still went: Stay. Away. From. My. Son. Truly shows dad love, and how they want to protect us even after our mosdoings
Imagine this ost with the erinys boss fight in ghost of sparta It would actually be so fire especially when this plays and you're chasing her when she's diving at a high speed, and you just slowly catch up. Nucking futs🔥🔥
Y’Know I kinda feel like instead of being a bitch Odin should’ve just sent everyone against kratos from the start, i mean imagine having to do the baldur, heimdall, Thor AND Odin boss fights at once, that shit would be crazy and they might’ve even succeeded
Baldur def. had wild energy being an Asgardian and all. But even though he lacks Kratos' utter discipline and steady Spartan mindset, his immortality really goes to show how scary "I can't die; I can't feel" can be. That coupled with his vengeful anger. Minus some levels of power, we were really just fighting a younger Kratos without weapons. I hope he comes back if only in Hel or Valhalla when Ragnarok drops!
