I love all Seventeen concepts, dark, fresh, cute, sad and musical. Since they always do smth new no one really knows what to expect. Darkteen is pretty loved though, some are waiting for Fear 2.0 it’s become a joke for every comeback now

Seventeen actually does darkteen (well sometimes it's coolteen, theaterteen, funkyteen, spookyteen, etc lol) and freshteen almost every year. Hoshi mentioned it in one of their interviews before. this year's darkteen was Super (손오공)
I feel like most fans don't come into svt expecting this but it's definitely a fan favourite concept. They never do it twice in a row though lol. I would love to see y'all watch the Fearless performance or 24H for more of this vibe. Great time to switch to a polar opposite and watch Mansae a much older song too.
If you want some Seventeen Christmas content, there's an episode of Going Seventeen when they are all dressed in Santa costumes but it's the summer and they can't take off the stuffy costumes unless they reach certain levels in video games.
There’s definitely a dance practice to this and its one of the must see choreography. Hope you’ll have time to check it out along with Thanks, 24h, call, call,call, and Fallin Flower. Their choreography/dance practice videos are all to watch for and it will definitely worth your time.

This is definitely not a departure because they have a lot of other songs in this style. But I think at the time it came out, it was a bit of a departure. Before this song, most of the other styles had been mostly cute and 'pop'-y.
5:41 As of late, I think that the general public loves darkteen more than freshteen which is why title tracks like Hot and Super attracted sooo many Carats into the fandom. The spike was crazy. These songs perform better on the charts as well. What's interesting is that Getting Closer and Fear seemed to be more underrated but as the great Woozi said in an interview, the world wasn't ready for Fear at that time. Had it come out now, it would have skyrocketed! But I think true Carats will love both their fresh / theatre / bright roots AND their versatility to pull off and absolutely slay darker concepts! FACTS. hehehe The only person I've ever seen trying doing a rubiks cube in Seventeen is Vernon, and I could be wrong - but I do love cube puzzles so it's kind of a thing. I've seen Wonwoo and S.coups holding cubes as props. haha Anyway, yeah the choreo is amazing - I saw your pinned post, and yes it's amazing you will love it when you get the chance. I LOVE this song - and tbh I feel like there are fewer songs that are Darkteen to the extent of Getting Closer and Fear, but they do have more songs that are not really Freshteen at all so I guess if it's one or the other... hahahaha :D I would echo the commenter who recommended HIT, HOT, Anyone and 24H as being along these lines more. Also some non OT13 songs, like Lilili Yabbay is not Freshteen, Hoshi's Spider, Jun's solos, Vernon's Black Eye, Woozi's Ruby... Anyway! Can't wait to see more!

My favorite concepts of SVT is Freshteen (a la God of Music and _World), as well as Coolteen (a la HOT and Super. I don’t consider those songs Darkteen, personally). The true Darkteen songs are Fear and Getting Closer, but they haven’t done it in forever. I always love whatever concept they come out with, though. And we even have Trot-teen. Me personally i am so passionate about music and i listen to many genre kpop or not !! And for me i started staning seventeen cuz they are so versatile !!!!!! You find songs that are joyfeul others hard instruments others are ballads !! So yeah we re just supporting them no matter what !! And it s not because i am a carat or i like them for their visuals but i really appreciate their music especially cuz they are self produced . I m not a kpop fan originally but seventeen really caught my eyes . You see when groups are self produced , in their comback show they talk about the process of making every song what s the message behind it and why they weote this or that !! I really respect that . You should check anyone / home run/ fearless/ monster/ fire (performance in their concert) / to you / kidult / fighting ( so many genres ) And thank you for your videos .❤❤ Also yes there is a dance practice for getting closer and an award show performance it s sick!!
