A couple of weeks back we had a quick look at my new project pair of jeans. Now it is time to get a little more in-depth, diving into the details of these TCB 50s Slim Straight jeans.
I will be wearing these jeans as part of a little fade competition we've got going on between myself, @volvo_sufu and Ryo, @rn182. I won't wash. Volvo will wash often, and Ryo will be somewhere in between. Let's see what happens to these jeans!
I think everyone watches this channel for all the geeky denim details haha! Keep it up! TCB is probably my favorite Japanese brand 🤙🏼
Haha, I will keep them coming for sure then ;) Thanks for the kind words.
Love the deep dive in to the details man, keep em coming!👊🏻
Thanks! Will do!
I love your Vlogs bud. For the last year or so you've helped me transform my wardrobe which I was in an expensive hit and miss process of doing. I think you've saved me a penny out two. Regards.
Hey Jason. Mate you’ve made my day! Thank you! Sharing what I’ve learned over the years about making the “right” choice when it comes to clothing is one of the main motivations for this channel. So I’m super glad that it’s worked out. 😊😊😊
I can't wait to see an update on these jeans, I bet the fades on yours will be the most high contrast. Volvo, will probably have more "vintage" fades. Ryo will likely be somewhere in the middle, but more towards the "vintage" side of the spectrum
The summer was so warm that I didn't wear them nearly as much as I wanted. But you will be seeing an update soon!
Cracking vid... Good craic as ever! It’s the geeky detail that leads us to parting with silly money! Liking the narrow selvedge ... looks more natural like it’s just the way the jeans are made rather than the manufacturer making a statement with the selvedge, if that makes sense??
Absolutely, The narrow selvedge comes from the kind of sewing machine head that was used apparently. Modern ones use a different kind meaning that the selvedge seem is wider.
It's all the detail I never knew I wanted ... Nice
Does that mean I can get you into a pair of Japanese denims, Mr Ballantine?
@@CeeAreDee Wouldnt be too hard - I remember looking at the "RAZOR SAKURA UNWASHED SELVEDGE DENIM" from Denham the last time I was investing... but the standard Italian candiani hasn't disappointed yet
Awesome review. Love the level of details you re presenting! And what is that hickory striped work shirt you had in the intro? Probably the most beautiful I’ve seen!
That is from Levi's Made and Crafted from a few seasons ago. You can still find them online for super good prices.
@@CeeAreDee I'm gonna see if I can find it. Thank you! Keep on doing what you're doing man. It's really appreciated!
I can’t wait for the S40s
Are those the once they just got done with the pre order?
The stitching threads on these are 100% cotton?
Have you looked into/ purchased any selvedge denim from RRL? They have some raw Japanese denim as well as some awesome washed selvedge denim...
I have a couple of RRL pieces but never had any jeans. I love what they do though. I remember Snake Oil Previsions in CA had an amazing slim straight pair with a high rise. One of the best fits I have seen and would love a pair one day.
Why should raw denim go in the dryer?
Love the Video and the details ..... Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Appreciate it!
Great video my friend. My favorite denim geek haha just joking
Haha, I will take that monicker :)
@@CeeAreDee thank you for replying have a great day my friend
First comment? Yay!
Yes you are! Cheers :)
Second comment, just because
And why not ;)
I personally am a dog person and hate cats. So samurai, momotaro, oni and/or studio D’artisan for me from japan.
Haha. Are you worried that dogs will start chasing you if you are wearing two cats on your legs?
