My good buddy Rudy Wyatt wrote this and recorded it when he was 16. I met him in a Music store in 1964 when I was 19 in 1964 and watched him play Flight Of The Bumble Bee on a Fender Stratocaster. I was already writing and recording for over 3 years, and had a record on the charts, and started letting him play guitar on some of my sessions. Then in the 70s he decided he wanted to play "Boogie Woogie" Piano...... and did he ever. He became one of the top 5 Boogie Woogie Players in the world and has been flown to Europe and Japan for Boogie Woogie Conventions. He's got several videos on you tube here as Rudy "Blue Shoes" Wyatt. He always wore Some different style of Blue Shoes when performing on his gigs. A recent video I watched on here is just one of him at a private party playing the old "Swanee River Boogie Woogie." He has played his Boogie all over the world including at Disney World and he told me several years ago that he played Disney the next night after Billy Joel had been there..... and he played the same piano that Billy had played the night before. He and I are Old Codgers in our 70s now, with a lot of great musical memories. He was really surprised to get a royalty check from Sony Music on this song he wrote when he was 16. His old car was worn out, and he used some of that royalty and got him another car. I still get a royalty check twice a year from Sony for a song I wrote when I was a teenager too. But it's way, way lower and wouldn't even make a down payment on a nice used car. So...... good for Rudy..... getting money he earned when he was 16. lol
