I'd say the difference is insert vs put in English.

The preterit format of Poner is weird. So I used the English word Pus*sy to memorize them.

I'm late to this party but your videos are so clear. They've helped me clarify things enormously even when I've watched previous Spanish RUclips lessons. Yours are extremely helpful so thank you. Soy mucha agradecida

Gee-whiz! These two verbs were messing up my French, when I needed to use both languages almost simultaneously, as in French a go-to word is “mettre” but in Spanish it covers only half of use cases😢 one would hope for a bit more consistency 😂 thanks a lot!!!

I think i learned 2 languages here: Spanish and British 😂😅
In the USA, never heard of "rucksack." 😂 im assuming you mean like a gym bag, or backpack

jajaj, yes a 'rucksack' is a 'backpack'!

@@ChatSpanish Ohhh okay! My advice is if you ever visit the USA, never say that word. Our American ears will hear and understand if means EVERYTHING, i.e. 🍆-sack, except a backpack 🎒🙈🙈🙈😂😂

Buen vid. No puedo poner los acentos con este teclado de biblioteca. Estoy en Australia.
(By the way 'll' is pronounced like the English 'j' in Andalucía and in most of Latin America. In parts of Argentina it is even pronounced 'sh'. But, well, I pronounce it the same way as you do).

    • @ChatSpanish

It does indeed Robert! I find the Argentinian/Uruguayan way of pronouncing it pretty hard to understand at times...
