Hi Jeremy, I just bought the psrSX600. I gave my PSR E363 to my 11 yr. old grandson. He started playing piano 6 months ago. His music teacher said that my grandson is the most gifted student she has ever had in over 20 yrs. So I'm hoping he will enjoy the 363 keyboard to explore his talent. Hi Jeremy Lee. Cool videos. Would the SX600 be much better than the older PSR S900 for playing back song midi files? Which has the best styles sound? Any advice appreciated. thanks
S900 is quite old with legacy drums and voices. But the Legacy styles (For those who originally used the older S Series and prior to the S-Series keyboards) still sounds awesome, like ContempRock on the S900. The SX600 has Real! Drums found on the S770 to make it awesome. In addition, better styles, more quantity (415 Styles on the SX600 compared to the 305 on the S900), fantastic drums and percussion. So I would go with the SX600.
I bought a SX600 but am having trouble learning all about it as I'm a guitar player really LOL. I downloaded the SX700 styles but having trouble installing them in my SX600 to play. If you have a way to help me with this let me know. Thanks Tom
Actually, ended up cancelling our order of the SX600. The super articulated pianos, the upgraded keybed and the bigger screen (and more kid friendly touch screen) made me change my mind, so I put in a few hundred extra out of my own pocket to get the SX700 instead. For me, as a hobby musician through many years now, the difference is worth it. I spent countless hours in DAW environments testing out different piano models (with round robins etc.), and I know how much difference better sounds can do to playing enjoyment. The SX700 seems like a really good compromise, without having to sell a kidney to afford it.
Most Americans buy a workstation because majority are into wannabe hip-hop and DJ crap and can't sing or carry a tune even if you give them a bucket! I'm from North Carolina by the way.
How do I use Yamaha SX600 as a midi keyboard? I have downloaded the driver, and it's only working as an audio interface. But I need it to work as midi please help
The truth is that the SX600 could have been a great keyboard, however (by design) the mixed bag voices and the missing step sequencer hold it back. What I mean: in many categories there are no good (just ok) sounds e.g. bass, strings, main piano. Step sequencer is just one screen in the style/song sequencer that could have been easily implemented. So, if you are trying to create some music, you will probably get annoyed/be looking for voices to download. If you need a solo violin/cello or a good finger bass or dynamic strings. Also, the voices don't play very dynamic. So, with the SX600 Yamaha is really giving you a preview or a sample of what to expect from an arranger. Eventually you will upgrade. The audio interface, however, is really something you will be missing dearly in the SX700/900, because it speeds up recording ( e.g. with an iOS device and Cubasis) and is very convenient.
Great review. Already purchased the SX600 (should receive next week), so for me this is just a great walkthrough of some of the features, and some of the shortcomings. Got quite a few instruments myself (software and hardware), but this one is our family instrument, so the approximate 800 usd we paid is already pretty much the max at the moment. Thus, some of the features available on the higher models are out of the current price-range. Nice to see that the SX600 gets a few unique features as well though. Cheers!
The SX600 is like the child of S670 and a S775 with the improved UI of SX series. As usual, Yamaha still left out practical improvements like the better SA piano sound, third upper layer, and larger screen. Maybe we'll have to wait for the next revision for those to trickle down on this price range. But I appreciate the new features for this new entry in the 600 series, namely the style creator, USB audio interface and the USB Audio Recorder. To be honest, I don't care about the new mic feature. I can't wait to see Korg's PA response on this. And maybe Casio too.
Hi Jeremy I`m searching for Piano wich can Import Styles like Asian All my wish^^. Maybe they are allready available on the PSR-SX600 ? other lower style Yamaha Pianos Models can use downloaded Styles?
Truly. This is one of the most complete and competent all-in-one entertainment and recording keyboard for under $1K. My absolute best recommendation to my students who have a bigger budget and don't want to upgrade anytime soon.
Good morning sir. I'm 52 years old, i am from Greece and I deside to learn to play keyboards!!!!! Can you please tell me which keyboard should i buy, under 500 dollars? I don't want to change it after 2 years if it's possible, so i want to buy something good. I herad about Kurzweil KA 90, are you ok with this? Or tell me your choice. Thanks for your help, keep doing this excellent job, you're help us to learn a lot of things!!!!!!!
The only thing i dont like are the speakers: I dont like or i hate black buttons on the other ones that's why i will buy this one. It's really stupid to put black buttons on a black staff and i have already a stupid yamaha piano back with tiny black stupid buttons . You are very good
Great review and nice keyboard but glad I went with the MX61 and had enough left over for a used MicroKorg. With the free DAW and iOS interoperability out of the box as well as FM Essentials which is a full on Yamaha DX100. Throw that all together with the remaining free B.O.M.B libraries and MOTIF patches it's an amazing overall value.
I always wonder how do you talk so smooth. Now from your eyes movement i assume you read from a teleprompter located below your camera... anyway Nice informative video.
Dear Jeremy, I am in my early 60s and not very computer-savvy. I have owned a Yamaha PSR 3000 for the past 20 years, and the display light has been blown. Anyhow, to replace it, I ordered the Yamaha PSR SX 600. I am still within the 14-day return period. No, I do not want to create my own styles or anything like that; I want to find styles suitable for well-known songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s created by experts. For example, in PSR 3000, if I wanted to play "I Just Called to Say I Love You", I could look under 'Music Finder' and play the "Called to Say" beat, which would be ideal for that song. Is there such a song bank in SX600? Please advise me which new Yamaha keyboard would suit me best.
Hi Jeremy, Super video! I have a essential question . Can the midi data from the accompangement be send to my DAW ? I just need to know before buying the PSR-SX600
I bought an sx 600 a week ago and it already started to have creaking noise on the black keys😢, did anyone face this issue too??. Didn’t expect this in this price range tbh.
Hi Jeremy, excellent review. I'm thinking to take this one as replacemente of PSR 463. Does it have a better recording facility? Is there a step/loop sequencer? I need this type of feature and PSR E463 does not have it.
Happy New Year Jeremy, thank you for all your videos. Wish you and your family all best in 2022 in both personal and professional life. I am looking to buy my next keyboard and I am thorn between this one and the Medeli AX10 (there is also its clone sold by Thomann but with less memory). Watched all your videos, but still not sure. Need to say is that I care more about how the included instruments sound (piano mostly) than number of instruments (many of which we end up never to use anyways). Another great feature is firmware update possibility (or not) and new instruments/styles being possible to add. Thanks
Hi Richard, Some differences(major or minor,it's up to you to decide) between the two models: SX700 has better speakers (13 cm x 2 + 5 cm x 2 VS 12 cm x 2 of the SX600). Touch screen, which means a lot easier navigation in the menus. Keep in mind that SX600 doesn't have buttons around the screen like s775 or other older models had. Those were the buttons that made the navigation in the menu easier even without a touch screen. The screen is also 7 inches wide instead of 4.3 inches of the SX600. The layer of buttons and the buttons themselves are different between the 2 models. The type of the key bend is also different. SX700 has the new FSB key bend whatever that means :) SX700 has 3 right hand voices. SX700 also has almost double the s.art! voices and 4 times bigger expansion memory to add packs(new sample voices/drum kits/purchased styles). Joystick instead of wheels for modulation and pitch change. The style creator doesn't have the tab where you can add, delete, modify the notes of the style parts independently. E.g.: if there is an annoying drum sound(note) in the style part you cannot delete or reduce it's volume. The alternative for the SX600 is to modify the style in the computer using a free program like Mixmaster. SX700 has MIdi IN/OUT sockets(if you need them). And finally SX700 looks way more beautiful. If someone is not quite sure which one to choose and his budget allows of course, he better choose the SX700. Here you can find the comparison between the 3 models of the Yamaha SX series: europe.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/keyboards/arranger_workstations/psr-sx600/specs.html#product-tabs Great and very helpful video once again Jeremy :)
@@panosfloyd wow! Thanks for your detailed addendum, man. Haven't even checked the prices yet but it seems like I would go for the 700, but the question is will that get a new upgrade anytime soon like the 600 did?
@@garycitro1674 No, SX700 will not be upgraded any time soon. Usually Yamaha upgrades it's models every 3-4 years. SX series introduced just last year with the SX700 and SX900 models. (s775 was almost identical to s770. It was not really a new model). SX600 costs around 800 euros, while SX700 costs around 1.100 euros. While the SX600 just released, the price is still high. I first smash the LIKE, then I watch, that is how I roll on this channel. I was looking at the new cheaper EW310 but this SX series has my full attention, Im happy to pay the extra premium $ for this model.
@@JeremySee looking at your videos which is great by the way the E463 and EW410 looks fun to play and at a great price especially the dual tone I think its called which looks like a awesome feature - thanks 😀👍
Hey do you know if this keyboard has a harmonisation feature? by that I mean normally you play chords with left hand and single note on the right but with harmonisation it would play two notes on a single key and depending if you play minor or major with the left the key on the right hand would also reflect it automatically
Indeed it’s an excellent instrument, however the only gripe is the size of the screen as it could’ve been an inch or two larger. I’m purchasing a PSR SX 600 for portability as I already own a stunning Genos and it’s too big to take out so the 600 will come in very handy.
I only dislike about Sx700 and sx 900 they have rubber buttens. But 600 has plastic buttons. Why can't yamaha put plastic buttons for good keyboards? Sx900 doesn't have a professional premiere look with out plastic buttons.
Great review Jeremy but Im confused. Im following all your reviews and I was all set to buy the 600 as a beginner to grow into. Then I decided on the 700 and all set to buy that. Then today you release this review favouring the 600 again. So what is best for me please? The extra few hundred UK is immaterial. Thanks.
Basically PSR-S775 wrapped in PSR-S670's compact body and new button layouts. Still, it's a good improvement of Yamaha entry level arranger model. If only SA piano sounds and the new electric pianos were also carried over, it would be even better
@@JeremySee The only downside is just for the pros out there, who needs a step-sequencer feature. The SX600, as a S670 successor, lacks the step-sequencer
Mine finally arrives after 3 weeks waiting. On first day, I test out with all the basic functionalities including all the extra styles (Western, Asian) I got and used on my Tyros 3. All seem to work fine. Load MIDI songs I created on Tyros, this SX600 play them nicely, cannot tell the difference between Tyros playing and SX600 playing. On second day, I setup MIC with my preferred vocal effect and do some audio recording, again recording quality for vocal is on par with Tyros 3. I also setup the first Assignable button to control the volume of the right hand part of the keyboard. I did the same thing on Tyros and this helps to match the keyboard volume with rythm volume. The second button is for reverb effect of right hand keyboard. Pretty straight forward, although there are few operations that are not the same as Tyros3. DIRECT ACCESS is one good example. The small screen does not bother me as I can read it very clearly. The up/down/left/right button for navigating the screen is kind of awkward to start with, but after a while, I get used to it. Why I bought this SX600 while already have a Tyros3? It's for gigs in small areas, such as private home parties, not so major show. Tyros3 is for larger places and more important shows (in large hall or restaurants). And my students can use this when coming for lessons instead of using my Tyros3. I use to have a KORG PA-50 for these small gigs, the trouble is that it does not have enough styles I need. It certainly does not load Yamaha styles. So glad that SX600 has the TEMPO/RESET button that the really old PA-50 already had (3 layers too, SX600 only has two layers). I truly recommend this SX600 for folks that do not want to spend 2X that much for an advanced keyboard. Do not feel restricted by the number of styles, there are literally thousands of Yamaha styles out there to buy. I will try ACCENT and UNISON next to see if these features are useful for me.
Jumps straight to SX600 instead through S675 - No touchscreen - Med end. You need XT3 Musicsoft MIDI file. Idk - The actual Yamaha - no CFX. Concert Grand - aaaa
Yamaha should really work on the piano sound in the arranger series. I own both a MODX 8 and a PSR SX900. I feel that the grand piano sound in SX900 is years behind that of MODX 8, even though the PSR SX900 is more expensive.
Still waiting for you to cover the more _recent_ models in this category, particularly the Korg Pa5x model. This one (as with most of the rest you've done) is just old news already!

The SX700 seems like a really good compromise, without having to sell a kidney to afford it.
Would you sell your kidney to get Genos?

Sx700 and sx600 which keyboard will I choose..
Tell me Jeremy..
I've been using the sx600 and I love it alot! 😄
Lucky you!!! ❤️
How is the feel? The keys feel like plastic?
excellent, can you tell me which EQ and Compressor you are using
The DGX series is overdue for new unit. I'll will holdout for even more bang for buck.
le reverbe tue la voix..pas besoin de reverb
I'm American, and I love arrangers lol. I don't know what's wrong with everyone else ^_^
Keep it up!
Most Americans buy a workstation because majority are into wannabe hip-hop and DJ crap and can't sing or carry a tune even if you give them a bucket! I'm from North Carolina by the way.
Sir jeremy, psr sx700 or pa700? Please advise me. Im buying next week. Thank you
Pa 700 are far better than sx600
Love the styles and variations. The guitar sound is amazing. The microphone input and effects are really great. How nice to have such smooth reverb..
Thanks for your help, keep doing this excellent job, you're help us to learn a lot of things!!!!!!!
sorry for the intrusion, could be an option the korg i3 can take a look at the demos on youtube
Throw that all together with the remaining free B.O.M.B libraries and MOTIF patches it's an amazing overall value.
this year i'm thinking of buying my first keyboard and was thinking of taking E473. but now i think i'm going with this one. thanks for this review 😁
actually those real i struments sounds better then on my 3700 bucks KORG KRONOS 2 😂😂😂😂
I bought this keyboard two weeks ago l am very happy amazing insturment
Great choice. Have fun!
I just order i was waiting for the best price and Black Friday the one I paid ¥53000 or $360 Very existing to receive it soon
Great review and voice! Greetings from 🗿Chile 🇨🇱
Hi Jeremy,
I am from Thailand. I like your preivew.
Better Than Old PSR S670!,I Like The Black Colour,LCD SCREEN And Also THE ALL PRESET AND STYLES!
I think you meant, Yamaha Genos:)
Do the Yamaha SX 600 Speakers work without muting when I connect OUTPUT cables to them???
An EXCELLENT instrument though the screens a bit on the small side.
Really nice keyboard and good singing of Jeremy sir.....🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hello Jeremy.
On PSR-SX600 keyboard, it is possible to singing in tune with vocal effect ?
I'm first. Excellent video showcasing and reviewing the Yamaha PSR - SX 600 Jeremy!
Hi Jeremy, excellent review. I'm thinking to take this one as replacemente of PSR 463. Does it have a better recording facility? Is there a step/loop sequencer? I need this type of feature and PSR E463 does not have it.
The mic feature is most fascinating...pop waltze music very enticing also. Great video✌
Thanks
Please advise when to choose for the sx600 or the sx700 and why? Is the speaker of the sx700 better?
Hi Richard,
Some differences(major or minor,it's up to you to decide) between the two models:
SX700 has better speakers (13 cm x 2 + 5 cm x 2 VS 12 cm x 2 of the SX600).
SX700 has the new FSB key bend whatever that means :)
SX700 has 3 right hand voices.
Here you can find the comparison between the 3 models of the Yamaha SX series:

Great and very helpful video once again Jeremy :)
SX600 costs around 800 euros,while SX700 costs around 1.100 euros.
While the SX600 just released, the price is still high.
In my country the SX700 now costs the same price that I have bought the S750 seven years ago.(After one year of release the prices go down).

Sir Jeremy I am from India meghalaya. Can I get old used one s670 or sx600?
What a helpful video love you're voice in the begins. Thanks you again Jeremy👏👍👍👏👏💖💖😘😘😍😍😊😊😊
Does the DGX-670 have better Piaon sound than the SX600 or isn't it all the CFX architecture?
Looks really great, but too much for a beginner like me 😆😆😆... maybe one day...
Nice video, as usual!
I first smash the LIKE, then I watch, that is how I roll on this channel.
I was looking at the new cheaper EW310 but this SX series has my full attention, Im happy to pay the extra premium $ for this model.
If you could afford it as I'm new to this yamaha keyboard world - which is better - yamaha psr e463 or sx900
Price of 1 set of SX900 can buy 7 sets of E463. Which do you think is better? 😉
Any reason to buy the psr sx700 over this? Which is better u think?
Great video. Nice that you added a vocal. Please can you sing more songs and sing them for a little longer?
Please how I should play audio sound using my phone to PSR sx 600
im thinking using psr sx900 for busking without PA inside shopping mall, but not sure is it possible or not
yamaha should look into the malay archipelago styles more. I can see dangdut and keroncong, but no joget, ghazal etc
Indeed it’s an excellent instrument, however the only gripe is the size of the screen as it could’ve been an inch or two larger. I’m purchasing a PSR SX 600 for portability as I already own a stunning Genos and it’s too big to take out so the 600 will come in very handy.
Have you got it yet?
I only dislike about Sx700 and sx 900 they have rubber buttens. But 600 has plastic buttons. Why can't yamaha put plastic buttons for good keyboards? Sx900 doesn't have a professional premiere look with out plastic buttons.
Hello jeremy i had buy the sx600 15 days ago and it's a fantastic keyboard. I have 2 keyboard :psr sx600 and korg pa700. Goodbye jeremy 😀
Lucky you!!!
Can you explain what is Unison and Accent in detail?
Please reply
Will I get Indian sounds and style in this keyboard.
Thanks.
If money is immaterial go ahead and buy the 700 or even the 900
Thanks for that Jeremy. Money won't stretch to the 900 so the 700 it is. Too impatient to wait stock and your hands on take of the Medeli A100.
Pls tell me if u have oriental problems for sale
Yamaha psr sx600 and korg ek50
Apart from review his singing is fabulous!
Thank you for your kind words.
Jeremy, witch one Is better Yamaha psr sx 600 or Yamaha psr sx 700 because i dont know witch sound better can hoy tell me pls🙏
I ment you*
I have sx600. do keys have unequal/uneven height? some keys higher or lower maybe about 0.5mm. has anyone experienced something similar?
Basically PSR-S775 wrapped in PSR-S670's compact body and new button layouts. Still, it's a good improvement of Yamaha entry level arranger model. If only SA piano sounds and the new electric pianos were also carried over, it would be even better
775 for the price of S670, colour screen, accent & unison etc.. great value!
Thanks for sharing!
When is this keyboard Coming to India?
Awaiting since it was released, yet not come in india.
Any idea when it's launching in India
It was released in Tamil Nadu india
Good review as usual... Waitng for sx600 vs pa 300.......
The screen is great. No batteries though.
Hello can u tell me how much price this keyboard?
Cheers Jeremy, nearly missed the video because I thought you were reviewing a piano, not an arranger keyboard!
Maybe this will be Yamaha's flagship workstation 🤔
Like the extended features. Thanks for your info-presentation.
Jumps straight to SX600 instead through S675
- No touchscreen
- Med end. You need XT3 Musicsoft MIDI file. Idk
- The actual Yamaha
- no CFX. Concert Grand
- aaaa
Yamaha should really work on the piano sound in the arranger series. I own both a MODX 8 and a PSR SX900. I feel that the grand piano sound in SX900 is years behind that of MODX 8, even though the PSR SX900 is more expensive.
