I've used a PSR-E413 for about 9 years and this I've purchased this one... Hope it will be a good upgrade. It will arrive on Dec 9th. Very excited!!❤🔥
Hi there. My name is Andrew Tompkins. I have been playing the keyboard for almost 30 years, and only recently started working with Yamaha's pro-level arranger series. I never owned the Yamaha PSR-S 670, but I can tell you all that I do not want the touch screen. I am completely blind, and the fact that the PSR-SX 600 still has buttons, is why I chose it over the SX 700 or SX 900. Further more, I love the unison and accent function, as well as the built-in USB audio interface on the SX 600. Also, in my personal opinion, I think that for my situation, the internal speakers on the Yamaha PSR-SX 600 are more than sufficient for me. I live in the Washington, DC area, and recently went out to play at one of the local metro stations. I had to keep the volume down, around the halfway point. I personally do not want too powerful of a keyboard, or else I'd start receiving complaints from fellow riders and transit police and station managers would ask me to leave. The SX 600's speakers provide a nice balance of clarity, but not overly punchy sound. Everyone has their own preferences, and everyone's musical situation is different, and depending on the venues you play at, you may want the more powerful speakers found on the Sx 700 and 900. But again, for my needs, the SX 600 is fantastic!
I've been using a PSR E-463 for about 3 years now and decided to 'upgrade' to the SX600. I really like all the additional styles, voices and features even though this keyboard is meant to be an 'entry level' SX keyboard. I've never felt that I have wasted my money with either of these instruments and I'm sure that the PSR SX-600 will give me lots of enjoyment. Thanks for the review Jeremy and well done Yamaha.😊

You raise a pertinent question when asking is this a good time to release (into an already crowded market) when different parts of the world are experiencing the constraints because of Covod-19. For some, it could be just the right time. It's inclusion of features not present in the PSR-SX700/900 while retaining Yamaha voice/style quality but lacking some other features so that it can be offered at a lower price will make it an attractive choice for some. People in regions where lock-downs are occurring to varying degrees will be looking for something new to explore while being restrained to remain at home (particularly where I am in Australia as an example) and this is an interesting competitor to the flagship models at its lower price.
This has the features and sounds to make it a worthy competitor, more so when it will most likely be priced even lower, at around $700+ USD in emerging markets.
Another good review, what I do not understand is why Yamaha do not publish a list of compatable keyboards for the app you mention,.I have searched for it but can not find the information. What is the use of saying works with compatable instruments without providing some sort of list.
