The taste is the test and it passes well above all else! It is nice to see fish being farmed as naturally as possible and with concern for our ecosystem and our health in mind.
I just discovered this fish at my local BJ's Wholesale Club, and cooked some this evening. The Better Fish Barramundi is excellent, and will be my new "go-to" fish going forward!
I bought some at my local Costco, followed the recipe on the bag for lemon garlic basil sauce, and everyone thought it was delicious. Highly recommended!
Interesting! How do you scale the ikejime method? Is everything by hand? And is the whole process? (Stake brain, bleed out, destroy spinal cord?) I couldn’t tell by seeing the processed fish.
We love this fish in our home. Thank you for the alternative to salmon. Baked with spices and a little butter with rice and veggies is as clean and simple as it gets.
Wow so interesting to watch enjoyed the video love from India 🇮🇳 one question can i visit your place if in future I want to make a project like that in india
Can you help me gain comfort around the population density in your farms? The video and your website reference "low density" but the clip from 1:52 to 1:59 looks like any other fish farm warning video found on the internet. How can I judge whether this is too dense or not?
Thanks for the question! The fish are being fed at the moment and tend to crowd around the surface of the water. During other non-feeding, they prefer to stay lower in the pen, which would make for rather uninteresting footage ;) In reality, they take up no more than 2% of the pen space by volume.
I always worry about what is fed to “farmed fish.”. Butcher in local grocery here in WA state one time told me never to buy farmed fish or shrimp because of what they consume, plus the fact that many times they are fed color to enhance the appearance. Yuk! Can you reassure me about the diet your fish consume? I have tasted barramundi, and it is good! I was searching online about this and found your video here. Well done.
That's a great question, Lynnea! You really are what you eat, and our Barramundi are no different. Our fish are fed a custom-calibrated diet of plant-based proteins, vegetable oils, sustainably sourced fish meal & oil, and pre- and probiotics such as oregano and cinnamon to boost gut health. It's an ongoing balance to maintain the well-being of our animals and sourcing ingredients that are sustainable. Keep in mind that every farm has their own feed formulation and strategy, so while we know exactly what we feed our Barramundi, it's not necessarily the same across other farmed fish!
Thank you so much for that response, ABTBG! I am sure it does vary with other producers. How do I know the barramundi is from you guys? I see it on the menu from Green Chef (which is owned by Hello Fresh). I would love to know it’s yours.... Or where else can I find it (grocery store freezer)....? I really liked it (have only tried it once from Green Chef...)
@@lynneanilsonthibodaux9220 We sell our products under our brand in many retailers nationwide! As for the Barramundi in Green Chef, yes, that's from us! It should have come in a kraft paper wrapper with our logo on it.
Thanks so much for the latest reply! Great news. In the meantime I found your website and searched for stores in our area. We are rural central WA state so no Costco near us. I’ll check Safeway. Didn’t see Fred Meyer (Kroger) on the list, where we usually shop in Ellensburg. Then I saw your QVC video (I have not shopped there in years :0) and ordered the 6 oz filets! Should be here by 10/23 - hurray!! And good to know it’s yours from Green Chef! I don’t recall the paper wrapper with your name, but that was a couple weeks ago...
@@lynneanilsonthibodaux9220 Thanks so much for the support!! Our distribution is a bit light in Washington, but glad to hear that you were able to make a purchase through QVC! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any other questions or product feedback, either via RUclips or through our website.
In addition to being tasty, these herbs are phytobiotics that contain bioactive compounds known to enhance productivity and promote animal health. They are natural alternatives to antibiotics.
One of the only farmed fish that I feel very confident in eating. All operations should be held to this standard... Thanks!

It's very delicious! I'm glad to know it's bringing climate-smart ocean farming that I can support!

Pretty cool. Looks much better than some farms I've seen. Haven't tried any of the fish yet.

Delicious fish! Fantastic find at Costco...Thanks from 🇵🇷 🐟
We're so glad that you discovered Australis Barramundi at Costco! Thank you for giving us a try!
Where can i purchase this product in Australia?
We don't have a retail presence in Australia yet, but if you're at a restaurant look for (or ask for) Clean Harvest Barramundi!
I'm Interested

Oregano and Cinnamon? Why not an individual beer massage ?? I didn't know those herbs were part of the marine diet.
