    This has got to be one of my favorite Kristen Stewart interviews of all time--Tracy Smith asked all the right questions while Kristen responded like an open book, pouring out her heart and soul with her love of acting shinning through so brilliantly--with film clips from several of her best and most popular performances interspersed.

      @@againstthepods4316 Without knowing her? She did a lot of research. Pablo Larrain, the director mentioned in an interview with Stewart that they would share research material constantly between each other. Stewart noticed and noted down a lot of Diana's mannerisms. Stewart did her research. During her first filming session on set, she tried to base her performance from the research but remarked that she over did it so did Pablo. Kristen Stewart's performance in Spencer is melodramatic for the script and intensely psychological with some creative liberties put in there. I literally cried and felt sad. I noticed her temper triggered by the bulimia. Frankly, the performance is being criticized harshly. Watch this video titled "Spencer - A look at Kristen Stewart's voice and depiction in the movie TRIGGER WARNING SEE DETAILS", the video essayist gives a fair shake of the common thread criticism.

      And GAGA got a SAG nomination, and she will get an Oscar nomination because she's a better actress. It's not a popularity contest, but if it was, Gaga would win that one, too. She's much more liked than Kristen is, everywhere.

But the actors who are in SAG are also the ones who do the nominating for best actress at the Oscars. So if 4,000 members voted for the SAG nominations, out of that, a thousand actors are the same ones who are members of the Academy.
      The entire Academy does not do the nominating for the actors. Only the actor's branch. After the nominating, then the entire Academy gets to vote for the winner. But if the actors didn't nominate her when they had the chance at SAG, they aren't suddenly going to nominate her for an Oscar. They've never liked her and she wasn't impressive in Spencer. Only from the critics, not the audiences and she didn't win a single competitive award at any festival, and the film went to about 2 dozen festivals. It never won a single audience award, in fact, at Telluride, the audience ranked it 11th out of all the films they saw.
      It was not an audience favorite outside of the festivals either. Neon had to yank it out of theaters and put it on VOS after only 3 weeks because no one was going to see it.

I'd rather see her being nominated than actually winning because it's still the same recognition. Critics awards are more valuable than audience awards dude. If you ever wandered what "mis-cast" (as in "casting") refers to? Just watch this movie - if you don't have the time, the trailer will do - and you'll get a good idea about the meaning of the term. It will also explain what "hype" is all about (as in "hyper-ventilating"...)

    From this clip I see heavy overacting rather than Diana. Actors sometimes try too hard, but then they're stuck with the material too, so... Not particularly impressed with the interview either; I admire the humility but not particular the Hollywood 'oh yeah, sure' vocabulary. She's quite pretty here though.

  • @linjubar
    @linjubar 2 года назад +2

    She doesn’t have the charisma, the speech pattern, or the mannerisms of Diana. Keira Knightly is more like Diana without trying to be.

    Diana suffered from bulima.That is pretty grafically shown in the movie.

    She acted like Diana well. But thats what it is..it looks like acting. You feel the acting, the put on and not the 'being' of Diana.
    She is a very good actress. I have seen her in many movies that have really impressed me. But not here. She says herself, it was their version of Diana.
    Having said that, I will always be a major fan looking forward to her work.
    Also, god what a beauty!!

    Gag, she still can't look anyone in the eye., still overly self conscious, so aware of the camera. Horrible choice, mediocre performance, terrible casting...

    Thank goodness she's humble about "trying" to play the iconic Diana. Nobody can truly portray her except herself. Also humility and self-deprecation are a major part of being British, hard to find those qualities in Americans. So she's a good pick all things considering. Wish she was taller like Princess Di. PS. I haven't watched the movie but I'm guessing they trashed the royals in it. Diana was a victim of a cheating husband, not the royals.
