If your baby cries at night, don't ignore him or her like the video says. Your response to the cries are what builds up a sense of trust as he or she gets older. If you ignore your child, chances are that they could become seriously anti-social and have trust issues.
you should ALWAYS respond to a crying baby.. there is always a reason y they are crying and if they are just lonely etc.. best for their mental development is to responds and love on your child
@MissClavelle I most certainly will not listen to a video telling me to jiggle my baby awake, when it fell asleep, just so I can fill it to the top with milk.. and that only so it will sleep longer, to not interrupt my sleep cycle. when you have a child it's not about you anymore, it's about the baby! the first year is hard, but you can coax babies with love instead of with ignoring it and pretty much telling it that it can't depend on you!
my son and i were getting great sleep from day 1 home from the hospital! and it's all thanks to 2 things: breastfeeding and cosleeping. ignore ALL this advice and do this instead: Bed close to your baby, and nurse on cue, many mothers find that they are able to anticipate and meet their children's hunger needs without either the parent or child fully waking. it's all instinct. babies' tummies are only about the size of a marble anyway and they need to be fed when they are hungry.
Babies, just like anyone else, know best THEMSELVES if they're hungry and want feeding. Every two hours? Every 30 minutes? Normal. A baby ALWAYS. Cries for a reason. And yes, a need for a cuddle and closeness is just as important as a need for calories. Babies need both physical and emotional nurturing both during the day and night
@MissClavelle uhm I have 3 children! You need to learn how to read: I wrote that no one was talking about a 1o second cry! They were talking about letting a baby cry it out.. if my baby cries, I listen to the cry. A mom should know what a cry means. If my baby cries because he just woke up.. I wait for a little while. You can differentiate between a cry because a baby is in some sort of "trouble" or if it just woke up but will go back to sleep in a min. ..
I agree that letting your baby cry is wrong. If your baby is crying, I feel you are obligated to see if needs a feed, diaper, or anything else. You can Not just let a baby just cry for an extended period of time.
Putting a 3 month old in their own bedroom is NOT the safest option. The risk of SIDS is reduced by 50% when baby sleeps in the same room as the parent(s). It doesn't have to be in the same bed, just the same room.
Three month old with a blanket. Not advisable. Also you're supposed to wait to put them in their own bedroom until 6 months. Mine doesn't sleep through at nearly 8 months.
@MissClavelle and noone was talking about a 10 second cry... this video is about babies who won't go to sleep, ergo they cry longer than 10 seconds. And being bored is a reason, too! If you are helpless (not being able to move around and find something to entertain you) than being bored is a reason to cry and should be answered imo but some people think it is too much work entertaining their babies. A baby means work! If you are not willing to do it, do not have children!!
@dagger100222 Why not? Most babies do. It's not like someone will go in there. I never slept alone (because I am a triplet), but most babies do as soon as they are taken home. You probably slept in your own room.
I could cry, when I See this little baby abanded in her big bed, where she has to sleep all alone after being 9 Months in the womb!!!! It is cruel, what society suggests young parents. Don't stress yourself and listen to your parental instincts. I will never ever let my baby boy cry until he falls asleep just because a stupid book or other tips suggest me to do so. I have a very happy little boy and He never cried and nobody came. Crying is for a little baby the only way to express their feelings. Why ignore it? You should have a look how other cultures to this!
So if your baby is waking up every hour or two hours and not getting sleep what do you do, since you jump every time he cries? My baby is sleep deprived because he refuses to sleep for more than an hour or two. I am just curious what people are doing if crying it out is not an option.
Some cultures believe in the cry it out method and some don't. Even the so called experts are divided on this issue. I think the answer is moderation. Crying does have some positive health advantages. When a baby gets over tired sometimes letting them cry it out is the best course of action. And baby learns to self soothe. Crying also products chemicals that help relieve pain. Most people feel good after a good cry. I think the best method is not to leave the room. Baby knows you haven't abandoned them but they are not being picked up so what is Mom trying to communicate to me? I don't think this should be a daily practice. It could backfire and baby will not be able to sleep without crying. Americans in particular seem to have a real aversion to letting a baby cry. It's odd because it's one of the only cultures in the world that don't practice co-sleeping. A lot of cultures believe in baby sleeping in the same bed with parents for years. Americans put them in their own room by themselves. Many people around the world find this odd. They might find that if they keep the child in the same room with them the cry it out method would rarely be needed.
For those all worked up because she left the baby in a wet diaper - use common sense. If the baby really were sleeping through the night on its own, would you go check every half our if she has peed and then change her? No, not a single same person would. And every young baby will pee during the night, so every baby will sit in a wet diaper. My son hates being wet and usually will not go back to sleep if he is, but if he conks out you better bet I won't be waking him to change him. And th
All they mean by not changing the baby if ts only wet is not doing anything that will wake her up fully. She's more likely to go back to sleep faster if she's still half asleep. She wont get a rash... I'm sure when any baby pees moms don't rush right away to change her. I'm not saying let her sit in it for a long time or anything. But letting then cry it out is different then doing it to be mean. Babies do need to learn to self sooth if not you end up with needy 5 year olds who can't let go.
that babies cries (not short 10 second cries) should be answered, to give the feeling of safety. People used to carry their babies 24/,7 now they are on their own most of the time? And people let babies "cry something out" when all they might need is something simple like love? People do not want to put the effort into a baby that it actually needs. That is why I think, PEOPLE not you in particular, shouldn't have children if they don't wanna deal with them and their own needs and personalities
@BennyandLore Very true. My nephew is almost a year old, and he HARDLY sleeps. They say don't make a party out of it.. But I let my nephew play until he's tired. It's not about the parents anymore.
1:12 commenting in 2022 but if someone does come across this, please don't let your baby sleep in that many blankets. It is a suffocation hazard! Use a sleeping bag with the appropriate tog for the season or a swaddle blanket.
I was sleeping through the night by one month old...but I can't say the same for thief needs to addition to the family. He is nearly 3 years old and still gets up at least 3 times a night..he is also still very dependent on soy milk bottles.. (Only for sleeping! He never runs around the house sucking on a bottle . They are strictly for napping and bed time) we were very understanding to why he was getting up a lot the first year, heck even 2 of his life. My mom had preeclampsia when he was being born which caused growth rate to stop only a bit.instead of bulking up those few extra pounds in the last month of pregnancy, he stayed little. He was 5lbs when he was born so he could only have the smallest amount of specialized formula for the first month or so of his life. He also had to eat every 2 hours to make sure he was full(He never accepted pacifiers)now he is coming up on 3 and still gets up the same amount of times as he did when we was born..any suggestion people in the comments??
Babies go through much more frequent, light cycles of sleep than adults, so they are more sensitive to stimuli. Most babies are not developmentally ready to sleep through the night by 3 months. I'd like to know where that 90% statistic came from. A great way to ensure she cries all night in pain and vomits everywhere is to feed her an entire bottle and then "jiggle" her awake and make her eat more. Make sure you teach her that she's only full when you say and that her instincts are wrong. Great.

I don't even know why I'm watching this.. But all I can say is: If I had a baby, I'd never let her/him sleep ALONE in a room. I mean seriously..That's just scary. :(
@TastyPlainPizza Triplet? Aww that's awesome! :D Anyways, I don't know, I've never slept alone before, I've always shared a room with my sister or whatever. Since I was brought up that way, I guess I have this weird *phobia* now when I sleep alone.. Which sucks.. But yea, maybe it's just me, but I'd be scared to leave a child alone in a room. Where I come from, most mothers put the crib in their own bedrooms to be on the safe side.
I said that if a baby REALLY cried, you shouldn't let the baby cry it out. And that is MY opinion. You can do whatever you like with your child/children. But I am allowed to state my opinion to this ridiculous video. Who are you to question why I am watching it in the first place? Why don't you go have a life instead of annoying people with your opinion that no one cares about??
REMEMBER. THIS IS ONLY A JOKE How to get a baby to sleep through the night (Older than 3 months) Step 1. Watch the baby to make sure when the best time for the baby to go to bed Step 2. Put your baby in the crib Step 3. If the baby cries, tell it to shut up Step 4. If your baby continues to cry, pack your bags and run. It will learn to sleep on its own XD XD XD XD
How to Get a Baby to Sleep Through the Night You will need : - a baby - some force Optional : a hammer. Step 1 : Slam the baby to the wall until the baby is "sleeping". Optional: Use a hammer on the babys head to be sure that the baby is truly sleeping.
Of course and u didn't listen to her she said MAKE sure the 3 issues were checked diapers hanged food ? Maybe still hungry or needs maybe to burp, sometimes a little burp it's what's keeping them awake also food sometimes a few seconds more of bottle will be what they nn to sleep Read and listen well before saying ignorant things also you think a smart lady like her doesn't know that babies are all different??? Camon even animals can tell the difference of their own And of course she knows as well, she said it too All babies are different so check to see what it is they need But make sure they are sleeping in they re room.
If your baby cries at night, don't ignore him or her like the video says. Your response to the cries are what builds up a sense of trust as he or she gets older. If you ignore your child, chances are that they could become seriously anti-social and have trust issues.
sleep with your baby, nurse her if it is possible, give her a comfort, keep her close to your baody - that's all your baby needs
Ignoring a baby's cry for attention is never, ever a good thing! As a parent, you have to show your helpless baby you're there for him (or her)!

It's called a "Swaddle" and though it looks uncomfortable to you, babies love them. It reminds the baby of being in the womb.
cutest baby ever omfg

What do giraffes have to do with this? ._.
@BennyandLore Very true. My nephew is almost a year old, and he HARDLY sleeps. They say don't make a party out of it.. But I let my nephew play until he's tired. It's not about the parents anymore.
oh and babies are suposed to feed reguler upo un tell like 3 months every 2 or 3 hours ruffly

@ArsonBeanTanks Completely true. Research supports this. The cry-it-out method only results in loss of trust and hope.
Nice tips... May I know who already applied this tips? And how about the result? Thanks...
put a little rum in thgeir drink lol

Guys... That giraffe fact wasnt that random... The video was about sleeping...they were telling you about giraffes sleeping... :P

Don't change it? Absolutely not an option!
Never put a baby to sleep in a wet nappy you will cause an awful rash
oh and from what i understand babies are desined to nap through out the dayt he attention spans are way shorter then ours and so are there energy
wth giraffes gotta do with anything? lol
Guys I'm a 13year old girl and she didn't shake her she jiggled her like when ur rocking a baby in your arms also baby's actully like the feeling of being restrained and were not being chocked
my son is 7 months and has been waking up once a night since like 4 or 5 months for a feeding

they have been with their mom 10months so close!use brain!
I won't ignore my baby cries, did your mom ignore you when you was a baby
Wow it's a late reply but yeah she did
She used to say " the more you cry, the less you pee at night" constantly
Oh uh I love her so
No detachment or abandoned issues here
We love each other more would be impossible
I don't think I knew anything at 2 months of age ;)
You people
My 2 boys raised the same way
You should see them now
None of that
Doctors continue doing this concept you are the ones with the problem, the ones with the detachment problem, NOT your baby
And you are creating a very unhealthy environment where the baby won't sleep without you he or she HAS to learn to sooth itself to sleep
Plus you will be so deprived of sleep, that accidents tend to happen, because all day you will be exhausted
No, for both parent and baby/ toddler the early the better
You need to try to stop being so needy
It's you not your babies with these problems
Babies are amazing they learn so fast
Mine did!
Go ahead, Zsanett... I'm totally speechless...
That's why giraffes are so cranky.
My baby girl is already thirteen months old. I live at home with my mom and my sister(also a teen mom). She doesn't sleep through the night. I dropped out of high school, but get up early each day to go to work at six thirty in the morning. She screams all night long, and I can't get her to stop. I feed her a bottle right before bed to get her full, and she'll be happy until I set her down in that crib. She screams all night and my mum and sis are frustrated! Please help me with my problem!(:
May i know what is the brand of the bottle she's using

@zsanettrp: Are you kidding? Breast feeding sometimes doesn't work out...think before u say something!
Soo you let your children sleep with a wet diaper ?? When they cry you don't help?? Jiggle the baby awake?? Great video ._.
5th? lol
That's one pissed off looking mom

Soo...are they saying a baby resembles a giraffe now???
thanx for vedio
Thank you
smothering works better.
I don't even know why I'm watching this.. But all I can say is: If I had a baby, I'd never let her/him sleep ALONE in a room. I mean seriously..That's just scary. :(
According to my mom I slept though the night but I never took naps. When I turn two all hell break lose. I got into everything
1:40 omg so cute, :D
The giraffe fact was really random...
keep them entertained during the day and they will sleep
Babys are babies omgoodness every bby is different and bbys get hungry in the night
how do u know they are full
shake you baby?LMAO
i just couldn't agree to your tips and advise....

Where I come from, most mothers put the crib in their own bedrooms to be on the safe side.
I'll just like for the giraffe
I'm so glad I'm not a giraffe mommy. (Although, I feel like one right now, with my 5-month old waking every two to three hours at night.)
lmao.
lol maybe they through the giraffe thing in their to make us moms feel better about the little sleep we get. that was pretty random
400 BABIES!!!!
the crib wasnt even padded...wtf
or look like
WTF did giraffes have to do with the cute lil baby
it works
I said that if a baby REALLY cried, you shouldn't let the baby cry it out. And that is MY opinion. You can do whatever you like with your child/children. But I am allowed to state my opinion to this ridiculous video. Who are you to question why I am watching it in the first place? Why don't you go have a life instead of annoying people with your opinion that no one cares about??
i cant agree eather dosnt exsactly work that way
@Hatty1997 or just don't wake her at all!
HOW ARE GIRRAFFES RELATED TO THIS VIDEO!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Sherry Stagg sleeping

What do hell does a giraffe have to do with a baby sleeping through the night!?
@xBloodXGusherx... Go easy on the babies... They are okay... :D
thumbs up if your the kid in the video
How big do you want your crib?!
REMEMBER. THIS IS ONLY A JOKE
How to get a baby to sleep through the night (Older than 3 months)
Step 1. Watch the baby to make sure when the best time for the baby to go to bed
Step 2. Put your baby in the crib
Step 3. If the baby cries, tell it to shut up
Step 4. If your baby continues to cry, pack your bags and run. It will learn to sleep on its own
XD XD XD XD
To help them sleep put them on their tummies think about it they dont have the strenth to turn aside if the spit up they can sufacate them selves
Cheyenne would scream bloody murder through the night. o_o
No, my friends niece. Heck, I'm almost 13 years old, not old enough to have a child! Well... It's possible but NOT going to happen! :P
All steps are about food
How to Get a Baby to Sleep Through the Night
You will need :
- a baby
- some force
Optional : a hammer.
Step 1 : Slam the baby to the wall until the baby is "sleeping".
Optional: Use a hammer on the babys head to be sure that the baby is truly sleeping.
Sorry but my son WILL NOT go back to sleep unless his diapers changed before eating. Not every baby is the same.
Of course and u didn't listen to her she said MAKE sure the 3 issues were checked diapers hanged food ? Maybe still hungry or needs maybe to burp, sometimes a little burp it's what's keeping them awake also food sometimes a few seconds more of bottle will be what they nn to sleep
Read and listen well before saying ignorant things also you think a smart lady like her doesn't know that babies are all different??? Camon even animals can tell the difference of their own
And of course she knows as well, she said it too
All babies are different so check to see what it is they need
But make sure they are sleeping in they re room.
Cristina .Filipe you idiot! She said “Don’t change her diaper if it’s only wet.” You are the one who did not watch the video.
Cristina .Filipe why don’t you think before you say ignorant things? (And your grammar is horrendous)
lol thats whati said out loud b4 i read your comment
