Ian has been a part of me since the freaking 80’s. He’s my man crush
One time in North Carolina. We were playing with my sisters band which is the makeup. We were playing a place called The Cat's Cradle. The makeup were in the middle of their set when one of Steve's symbols fell over. So I was the closest one standing off on the side of the stage and went to pick it up. When I picked up the symbol and put it in place my eyes caught on to this guy and this girl in the audience. This guy was standing behind this chick screwing her from behind while the guy was staring at Ian and the girl staring at my sister Michelle. So immediately ran off stage grab my drummer steve dore an brought him out to show him. By this point everybody started to take notice including an and Michelle. But this couple didn't miss a Beat. Ian was telling me how weird it was making him feel once he realized that this guy was locking his eyes on to him. Once and realize that his stage performance totally was stifled. Not really because some guy was staring at him while he was boning some chick. It was just the fact that it was f****** funny and how much the couple was into it. They didn't f****** care at all. This space had even cleared out around them and side of a full crowd LOL so it was quite the spectacle

What do you mean the makeup made up. Nobody in the makeup was mad at each other. The makeup never broke up. Also when makeup or involved in other things. Michelle and Ian still pretty much remained in different bands together.. like weird war and seen creamers. Take it from me I'm Michelle's brother. But they are incredible. The songs totally put a tear to my eye beings that my sister was always nice enough to let my band play with makeup. I wish Steve Gamboa was there. But Mark Cicero is cool. And three of the original 4 is cool

@@robotinvasion oh so you trust a Wikipedia page. I was still playing shows with the makeup in the year 2000. But in 2001 certain things happened in Steve gamboa's life where they lost their drummer. James wanted to take a break also to do certain things. Michelle and Ian started bands like weird war then the scene creamers. Ian also started chain and the Gang. The makeup would play once in awhile having someone fill in on drums. They would usually play out of the country and only for big events where they could make a lot of money. Not that it was about money to them. That when they would get these offers they couldn't possibly say no. So they would play shows here and there but just selected shows and like I said most of them were out of country. Finally after years the demand for the makeup to play and the awesome offers that they were getting to play. They just to do the makeup full-time again. You know that Michelle also is the bass player for ex hex now. So when is pandemic ends. The makeup have a tour in Europe and Australia that they have to make up. But at the same time ex hex has a album that they need to tour and Michelle is the new bassist. So I imagine Michelle is going to have a hard time doing both. That's because both are becoming very popular. So I don't know how Michelle's going to pull off both bands. I think Michelle is going to have to pull out of one of them. And I'm sure it's not going to be the makeup. The makeup is it the makeup without Michelle Mae Orr. But ex hex started out without a bass player. Plus Dave had other bass players. Michelle and Ian have to be present for there to be a makeup. Also I would have to say James also. I don't think they would ever be able to replace James doing what he does with the guitar and the keyboard and both at the same time. James would have to train somebody literally for years. They couldn't even bring Alex back to do the guitar parts if James weren't there. A few years ago I would have said it what take all four original members. has the drumming that Steve did was perfect for the makeup. It took them a long time to find a drummer that they were happy with. There's been all right drummers. But they never fit like Steve Gamboa. But Mark Cicero is doing a very awesome job right now. I feel he was a very good choice to drum for the makeup..
@@thomas-rs1vb I checked Wikipedia, it doesn't say anything about Michelle Mae playing in Ex Hex. I think you might have the wrong information.
Michelle Mae is a highly underrated bassist.
Went to a reading of his book in greenpoint bklyn. I'd just discovered him and I was mad about the band (Bring the Birds Down is my jam!) He's a much more reasonable, thoughtful and I'd even say shy fellow than he is on the show.

I don't think gamboa plays music anymore.
Michael Therion feels different. Steve Gamboa had a sloppy funk. This drummer feels more formal.
