A lot of people use long grass to get tarantulas out of the burrow for feeding. One good thing to this is that it allows you to make sure that the tarantula grabs and eats the prey item. You should NEVER leave a live prey item unattended in a tarantula's enclosure, as it could start munching on the spider.
People do this too when observing tarantulas in the wild - Use a blade of grass to "tease" them out of the burrow.
The only difference here is that no food was dropped in. I did, however, feed everyone today.
Not too sure how this was "stressing" them when all it was is a soft blade of grass causing tiny vibrations on their webs, them thinking it's food, and showing their feeding response.
This video was to show how different species of tarantulas react to vibrations on the ground, which I find interesting.
As for Death Nugget's enclosure,
The reason why there is saran wrap over the cover is because she does enjoy her substrate a little damp. Water evaporates too quickly when the lid is filled with holes, so the saran wrap was placed in hopes that it will help slow down evaporation :D

Kaleen Brady you need to calm down. He is right it is not hurting the spiders in any way. My brother and I grew up playing with/handling safely all sorts of spiders, snakes and plenty other critters and the way he is doing it is totally harmless. Exotic Lair keep up the great work on taking care of those t's and making those nice enclosers for them.

I did get to enjoy what each Tarantula looked like again, and even some that I never heard of still. Swear you and ants antscanada are gonna be the reason I get my own Brazilian black tarantula

My friend does this with all spiders. She keeps some tarantulas and teases them from time to time. They get pretty pissed off at first but seem to forget about it a little while later. She did this with an orb weaver though, and it was actually able to pull the blade of grass out of her hand and toss it in another direction. Made us both laugh and realize how goofy spiders really are. They are our little 8 legged moody kitten friends.
