Today’s video will be an unboxing and setting up a bunch of Blaptica dubia cockroaches. It’s been quite a while since I’ve kept them - I had thousands of them before, but they slowly passed due to excessive inbreeding. It’s always a good idea to introduce new bloodlines into existing colonies to keep the line strong, however I didn’t do it very often with my previous colony.
We will also be feeding 2 tarantulas (Green Bottle Blue, and Psalmopoeus cambridgei) and Elvarg, my Bearded Dragon in this video. You will see how happy they are to see these Dubia Roaches appearing on the dinner plate once again. Overall, these roaches make a nutritious meal for insectivores, and I would definitely recommend any keeper to have a colony of their own, despite the roaches frequently being annoying by “playing dead” and burrowing.
