    I've had both and like both, BUT:
    (1) cockatiels produce A LOT of dander and some people are allergic to it. Budgies don't have dander.
    (2) cockatiels require A LOT of time. They are not as independent as budgies and need the owner to spend a lot of time with them. Whenever you go outside the room, your cockatiel would scream to have you come back.
    (3) cockatiels are 3 times larger than budgies, which means 3 times more poop, 3 times more mess, 3 times more food. I would clean my budgie's cage 1-2 times a week, but I have to clean my cockatiel's cage EVERY SINGLE DAY. Also, because of cockatiel's dander, I have to vacuum clean around the cage 2 times a day.
    I would recommend budgie to anyone, but cockatiel only to those who understand cockatiel challenges well.

If you get two budgies it will be harder to tame and they won’t bond with you they will bond with each other since it’s their own kind. "if you want a quiet bird get a cockatiel"
    bro that is the most wrong thing ive ever heard lmao. i had two cockatiels and we had to rehome them within a month because of how noisy they were they'd cry whenever we'd leave. Budgies don't but they do make a lot of noise however we've had em for a couple months
    Cockatiels are louder than Budgies.
    Still a good vid thats my opinion

      Cockatiels are amazing! I used to be a budgie fanatic, until I got a cockatiel and it's amazing how cockatiels are friendly and attached to humans. Budgies always keep their distance from people.

      @@raymondjohnregalado3361 I always get birds when they are about 1 month old, right after they've been fed / raised for this 1 month by their parents. 1 month is the best timing, as they are ready to build a bond with you, while getting all the warm baby food from you, which makes the bond much stronger and more natural.

    Dont get confused cockatiels can be real loud and nonstop for like 15-30 minutes on one tune.

    This is great information but cockatiels are not always quiet. I have one and love him but I don't want people buying cockatiels thinking they're quiet easy going birds. They can be but demand a lot of maintenance. All birds do really. But I love my bird, very fun to play with. 20 years and still going!

    We have like 40+ budgies. We aunt bought a cocktail, he was a baby cocktail. One day she called us saying that the cocktail is not eating anything, it is also not speaking. My heart fell when I heard this. I told my parents that I want to go to aunt's house right now. When I got there poor Dommie was scared of everything. I spent 4 hours gaining his trust. He was also sick and lonely. I gave my aunt a 3 hour Talk about why you shouldn't keep birds alone. My mom took the cocktail to our house because our auntie didn't know how to treat him right. He was so pretty but died of starvation on the way. R.I.P Dommie, I know you weren't my pet, but I loved you as you were my child. Those 2 days with you were my best days. I really want another cocktail but my parents refuses to keep one because we already have 40+ budgies. I love birds

    I've always found the female Budgies I have owned have been more aggressive than the males. I have Parotlets at the minute but some day will get another Budgie. I will definitely get a male.

    • @Namoraslife
      @Namoraslife 2 года назад +2

      I second. Female budgies can be quite bitey. That also goes with parrotlets. But I find, that females are also more social and cuddly, the males want more independence and alone time.
