Seeing all of your guides makes me want to switch to Java version. I wasn't aware of all of the differences, as when I started playing bedrock I hadn't played minecraft since the year following it leaving beta. To be fair, I do have the option to do so, I just like to play minecraft in the same room as my partner, and it's easier for one of us to be on TV/console instead of dragging my computer out. Also I have very small hands, keyboard controls hurt and fatigue my hands in a way controllers don't. I'll work something out eventually, but in the meantime? Over here having Java envy. Your guides are still great!
Im really glad to have those extensive guides and lots of contributions in the comments whenever i want to learn somethig new about minecraft i don't like relying on the wiki ever since got taken over by Fandom
you should explain the firework crossbows in more detail. there are different crafting recipes for different types of pvp firework rockets. the rocket that does the most damage is crafted with 7 firework stars, 1 sugarcane and 1 gunpowder. conversely a rocket crafted with only 1 star instead of 7 does the least damage. additionally, i craft firework stars with 7 different coloured dyes, 1 fire charge and 1 gunpowder in order to create the most effective smokescreen to blind players who have their particles turned on. the fire charge creates a "large ball" firework star which increases the AoE damage and the animation radius edit: you already have a video on this here at ruclips.net/video/6ziSqmJxU6s/видео.html but you did not mention it in the video or link it in the description as of 3 hours after this video released
great video! it would be helpful to see a visual comparison of the numeric damage values for each weapon, perhaps as a table at the end of the video. keep up the good work!
Really nice guide! I appreciate how you to over the enchantments and stuff! However! The combination of the flat tone and electric/retro sounding music has a special way of making me on edge and unsettled! Keep up the goodwork!
Also one benefit I've noticed with piercing is if you don't hit the maximum number of mobs the arrow will hit the ground allowing you to pick it up. It's nice if you're low on arrows.
I usually put smite on the sword and sharpness on the axe, its just a lot better for things like xp farms and the axe sharpness helps with pvp and that sort of stuff
@@Eyecraftmc dude i promise you're very good at making these like don't stop and play the algorithm i would love to support you and watch you grow you seem like a genuine good person keep it up brother
My fav is easily the Axe followed by the Bow. The thought of bashing someone's head with an axe is extremely appealing, but the fact that it's also an axe and you can cut wood with it is such a huge utility that I appreciate in my long distance adventures where inventory space is a luxury. Add this with early-mid game where 2 hits is enough to kill the average mob, and it's just perfect
in my opinion sword is better because it does more dps and if you miss a hit you can charge the hit up quickly again, you can also get combos with a sword.
@@TheSilverShadow17 I believe that the most used weapon back then was the spear. I would love to use one in minecraft, for some reason I like them, probably because of their defensive nature.
This dude is single handedly carrying me since I started playing minecraft for the first time a week ago, had to Sub instantly. Keep up the amazing guides man 👍
I personally prefer the trident because it does a pretty decent amount of damage in melee combat, it is also good for ranged combat + you don’t need to worry about getting it back if it has loyalty, it is a great way of transportation, specially with an elytra, it is very good against water related mobs and, if it’s a thunderstorm and you’re in the overworld, you can basically become Thor + get some mob heads to show off to you’re friends (it’s also very versatile). But I do know that it has disadvantages and, to make it fair with the other weapons (not like they need it) I’m going to list them! For starters, the trident isn’t useful outside of combat (except for transportation), also it doesn’t do the most damage comparing to an axe (in melee fights) it doesn’t do the most damage in ranged fights, it is not the weapon you would like to choose for a battle against multiple mobs (unless it’s conveniently a thunderstorm in the overworld and you somehow already have the channeling enchantment ready + you’re not in another dimension) and it doesn’t have the most enchantments for increasing damage. I overall think tridents are underrated and that they are a great weapon and (my opinion) the most versatile one with the lightning, the recalling the weapon and more. Like if you think tridents are great weapons and have a nice day😉 👇👇👇
I dont see the appeal of loyalty tridents. Like sure it will be competitive with the other weapons by trading dps for versatility if you for some reason can only have one weapon. But what’s stopping you from using any combination of the other weapons with one range and one melee and immediately surpassing the loyalty trident. This is not even going to its flaws of having a heavy penalty for missing as usually when you miss the trident flies far away rendering you weaponless for quite a while until it finally returns. Additionally what if a random dropped item fill the your trident slot in your hotbar after you threw it? You will have to escape and sort your inventory which is a massive flaw for destructive mobs like the wither.
The crossbow is my favorite weapon in the game, and was the main factor in me switching from the X-BOX 360 to the PS4. Mojang decided to stop upgrading the 360 version after 1.13.
The thing i love the most about the crossbow is that it's very efficient. If you have piercing IV and you only shoot through 1-4 mobs, the arrow actually does not disappear and you can pick it back up, essentially having unlimited arrows unless you line up like 5+ mobs for the shot.
I like the trident, I like how it’s close and far range and how you can charge creepers, making it easy to get mob heads and in bedrock, wither skeleton skulls when strays die from an charged creeper. And oh yeah the channeling and riptide is op.
Its so frustrating that tridents cant have normal melee enchantments like the sword can. I think its ridiculous that a tool can have sharpness but weapon cant
one thing you also forgot to mention was that, if its thundering with a riptide trident you can fly with the elytra and use riptide to boost your speed to absurd amounts and move faster then creative flying and a elytra with firework rockets.
It’s also worth mentioning that if you’re using a riptide trident in the rain, you can use is as a substitute for rockets when using an elytra. This makes it possible to do air-striking attacks.
I not sure if it's the same, since I havemt fished for a while, but you used to be able to fish a bow up with both Mending and Infinity. I swear I remember before I started building fishing farms I fished one out with a God Rod, but I also remember it having every single enchantment including Curse of Vanishing, which promptly vanished when I died.
My favorite weapon is def arrows! I like doing long-range attacks. Also I think I recall you can pick up arrows on Bedrock even if you had the infinity enchantment.
Swords/Axes are my favorite, since I am not the great at doing long range shots with the Bow. Though I usually carry both a Sword or Axe and Bow or Crossbow in my inventory of at all times. Also if mojang was to add a new weapon to minecraft vanilla, what would it be? For me it would probably be a mace/chain mace.
The video delivered what the title promised, maybe a detail was missing here and there but it really was a great tutorial for those who are starting and for me that I've been playing for a long time too.
And your videos are amazing, the content is interesting and the organization and editing of the video is also good. Thank you for your work brother .✌🏼💪🏼
Imo the crossbow is by far the strongest simply due to its aoe potential. Every other weapon aside from the sword are ST locked and even for the sword, in order to utilise its aoe you have to lower your dmg by not critting, put yourself in a vulnerable state by walking or standing still, have to be at melee range as a melee weapon, and finally after all that you wont even get the full dmg on the other targets. Sure the other weapons are very slightly better than the crossbow (save for trident) in situational ST scenario, the moment there is more than 1 target the crossbow far surpasses all the other weapons. Additionally the ability to preload the crossbow allows it to be an on demand weapon great for capturing opportunities. It even allows powerful burst dmg through multiple crossbows (I usually carry 2 firework crossbows since all neutral/hostile mobs that are not bosses or mini-bosses die in 1-2 shots).
Axes are now the most op weapon in bedrock pvp because it can be spammed on shields and have no cooldown. It still does 1 less damage then the sword though
Yes, also axes has 4 block reach instead of 2.5 block reach of the sword. Which especially comes in handy when facing the withers that like to float 3 blocks above player when fighting in the ocean. Swords just don’t cut it lol
@@Totallysteveharvey Is it really!? Not sure if that matters though since both weapons will still have to contend with the .5 second immunity frame after each successful hit. So neither really gains any dps from attacking any faster than what they currently are at. Sad they nerfed the 4 hit range on axe down to 2.5. Buff’ing sword up to 3 to compensate, still feels kinda meh without sword sweep AoE since 3 is not enough for certain things. There isn’t a melee weapon capable of reaching dragon from regular fountain standing height, or wither floating above water from swim height anymore like axe was once capable of doing. Have to jump/bob up now for each hit greatly limiting the melee kill speed on either. Axe was especially handy before one wither, because even if you could melee it’s floating height above ground just fine, wither’s love to take out the ground underneath you with each explosion, so water killing with axe, was my consistent go-to for them.
@@MarsStarcruiser oh I meant in bedrock, it’s very fast in bedrock. Literally it’s only saving grace. Because even though it does 1 less dmg, you can attack twice while the sword attacks once. ONLY WITH EFFICIENCY ENCHANTS. It works trust me I use it in my server everyday as a switch to weapon mainly for bosses with a lot of hearts.
And again you can put both efficiency and sharpness on an axe at the same time. I just think it’s good for like withers and stuff. And since I’m on a single player server I’ll one v 1 the warden sometimes by spawning him in. Giving me twenty extra hearts, strength three, speed 1, regen 1, saturation 10. For about 5 hours at a time. (Using commands) Then I’ll just duke it out with some weapons and armor. It’s really fun since I love PVP, once I managed to kill a warden without potion effects but then I allowed myself golden apples, blocks, snowballs, etc.
At 7:25 you save, that Impaling on Java does more damage to drowneds. That is actually not the case, because drowneds are considered as an undead mob, not aquatic. But still very good video.
the sword vs axe thing is pretty funny. axe got more instant damages, sword got way more dps. yet, in practice, you don't get the full benefit of attack speed in messy fights so axes tends to be slightly better. sweeping edge sword is still a godsend for what it does, having some aoe bring your total damage output way up, it's also a nice utility for basic exp farms were you have to kill or finish the monsters yourself.
@@Psodjakkdmdm392 That's not really true though lol. The sword has one point of higher DPS against some general enemies/mobs. But the Axe melts shields and has more range. Meaning that it is actually better for PVP on Bedrock.
The damage arrows will not work on mobs that are considered undead because they take the opposite effect when hit by a potion so poison gives them regen and insta damage gives them health the insta damage pots are op for pvp but pretty much useless for undead mobs however the opposite potion effect goes both ways and insta health pots and arrows will do extra damage to mobs
It seems like the bedrock firework crossbow does not work the same. It doesnt seem to work like an impact detonation. Instead it seems to want to go the full flight duration
Bows have always been the most useful, safe, versatile weapon. Kill from safety, support allies, weaken enemies with tipped arrows. Getting an enchanted bow with Mending and Infinity is the first thing I focus on in my world, even before diamonds.
A few small details you missed. Firstly, Firework Rocket Damage with a Crossbow is dependent on how many Firework Stars are in said Firework Rocket, the area of damage is based on the size of the explosion from said Firework Rocket, with larger Fireworks like a Large Ball giving of a wider range of damage effect, and the distance in which the Firework Rockets travel when fired from a Crossbow is greater than just launching them off the ground. Thus, to me at least, the best ranged weapon is a Firework Crossbow, Enchanted with Multishot, loaded with Firework Rockets assembled with at least 6 Large Ball Firework Stars and 2 Gunpowder, that way you get the best combination of good range and high yield damage. Second, I don’t think that’s right about the Stone Axe, but I could be wrong. Also, I don’t think that thing about weapons in you main hand dealing additional damage with a Riptide Trident actually works, in fact, I’m pretty sure I saw a RUclips video debunking that claim, but he could’ve been wrong too, I guess. Either way, Rockatoa, Brickticks out!
In bedrock early game you fish get a nautilus shell then give it to drowned with trident Soo it took me 8 days to get a weapon powerful as netherite sword

One effect tactic i do when using the crossbow is placing down cob webs in front of me as i move back when mobs are chasing or following to attack. Then fire a couple fireworks at em as there slowed down by the webs( i do this tactic mainly as they don't Explode on contact for me. If the mob doesn't notice me i fire a couple fireworks at them at a distance) I always keep keep sheers with mending to pick em up after and a sword for close encounters or to get Experience to repair any tools, weapons, armor with mending on. Helps alot luckily for me i can get a lot of dyes and other materials to make as many fireworks for ammo and. some other farms for other resources to make em. Funny thing is ever since i made a firework resource farms in a village i found with walls surrounding. The village i been getting more pillager patrols around that area. Its a bit worrying honestly😅

Just make sure you don't have Flame on your bow, because if the mob gets killed by the fire it won't drop more loot. The arrow needs to kill the mob for more loot.
Very good for farming all sorts of things, especially in the Nether for Whither skulls and Ghast tears you can farm them from distance.
Really
I thought looting has nothing to do with damage type, but what you have equipped at moment of death🤔
@@MarsStarcruiserthat is indeed how it works, only what you have in your main hand at the time the mob dies matters
15:00 I didn't know the witches nose moves when they drink a potion! That's pretty cool!
Excellant clarification of each weapons possible damage & best use. Solves a lot of my indecisiveness. I always start a world with a stone sword, but like the bow best early game. I can get a power 5, unbreaking, mending or infinity, & usually flame pretty quick thru fishing. I also like defeating witches, creepers, & trident wielding drowned from a distance.
Thank you for noting the differences between java & bedrock, it helps a lot.
Your guides are still great!
there's mods that allow you to play java with a controller
Controllable mod on forge allows you to use all controllers
The channel called “the breakdown” had a good guide on how to install forge and the mod itself
If you have bedrock on pc, you get java for free now

you should explain the firework crossbows in more detail. there are different crafting recipes for different types of pvp firework rockets.
the rocket that does the most damage is crafted with 7 firework stars, 1 sugarcane and 1 gunpowder. conversely a rocket crafted with only 1 star instead of 7 does the least damage.
additionally, i craft firework stars with 7 different coloured dyes, 1 fire charge and 1 gunpowder in order to create the most effective smokescreen to blind players who have their particles turned on. the fire charge creates a "large ball" firework star which increases the AoE damage and the animation radius

Hey eyecraft,
on bedrock you can pick up arrows fired from a infinity bow.
They won't be actually added to your inventory though.
I like how you have started to show more information about bedrock edition too
I'll try and continue giving more and more info for that version in the future
Bow is juicy but the trident is the best. It's so unique and badass
Are we going to ignore the multishot giga firework combo? That is the best combat weapon in the game imo.
So you shotgun something in the face with fireworks? I’ll have to try that
i really needed this thanks

@@Eyecraftmc dude i promise you're very good at making these like don't stop and play the algorithm i would love to support you and watch you grow you seem like a genuine good person

Axes historically were used in combat alongside swords so to say that history was one sided in weapon preference is inaccurate.
@@TheSilverShadow17 I believe that the most used weapon back then was the spear. I would love to use one in minecraft, for some reason I like them, probably because of their defensive nature.

@@Eyecraftmc ya your goated.. i was top confused and annoyed by all the new features added but you definitely dumbed them down for me, thank u bro bro
Like if you think tridents are great weapons and have a nice day😉
👇👇👇
I mean yeah I think everything in that gen isn't updated anymore... It's starting to be like that for PS4 too. Like lol really? You act surprised
BEST MINECRAFT CONTENT ON YT
LITERALLY BESTTT
You are my favorite youtuber keep up the amazing work
Thanks! Will do!
The thing i love the most about the crossbow is that it's very efficient. If you have piercing IV and you only shoot through 1-4 mobs, the arrow actually does not disappear and you can pick it back up, essentially having unlimited arrows unless you line up like 5+ mobs for the shot.
I didn't know efficiency on axes can increase the chances of disabling a shield!! 🙏
I think its ridiculous that a tool can have sharpness but weapon cant
and the fact that IMPALING only works on aquatic mobs. name it something else or atleast change its effect
You can't put sharpness on tools??? Unless you are talking about an axe but that a 2-in-1 (weapon and tool)
Nice 👌 great content as always
Glad you enjoyed it
one thing you also forgot to mention was that, if its thundering with a riptide trident you can fly with the elytra and use riptide to boost your speed to absurd amounts and move faster then creative flying and a elytra with firework rockets.
Bro is literally 70% of what I look for in a minecraft channel. I’m glad I finally found you after all this time.
You get bows from skeletons and strays as drops too. Also impaling on java edition doesn't work on dronwed as they are undead mobs not aquatic.
Bows and fishing rods are in treasure drop table
My favorite weapon is def arrows! I like doing long-range attacks. Also I think I recall you can pick up arrows on Bedrock even if you had the infinity enchantment.
Swords/Axes are my favorite, since I am not the great at doing long range shots with the Bow. Though I usually carry both a Sword or Axe and Bow or Crossbow in my inventory of at all times. Also if mojang was to add a new weapon to minecraft vanilla, what would it be? For me it would probably be a mace/chain mace.
spears i think

@@Eyecraftmc Great videos 👍 help alot
This tutorial is amazing , I'm definitively subing you are amazing !
This information is super useful. Knowing that I’m using the best weapon is just a confidence booster in my hardcore world
Imo the crossbow is by far the strongest simply due to its aoe potential.
@@MarsStarcruiserand if you put efficiency and sharpness on your axe, it’s triple the speed of a sword. Broken.
(Using commands)
Then I’ll just duke it out with some weapons and armor.
Love watching your videos. Keep it up!
Thank you! Will do!
your guides are the reasons i know most of the stuff i know, these videos are very very very helpful pls don’t stop making them
the sword vs axe thing is pretty funny. axe got more instant damages, sword got way more dps. yet, in practice, you don't get the full benefit of attack speed in messy fights so axes tends to be slightly better. sweeping edge sword is still a godsend for what it does, having some aoe bring your total damage output way up, it's also a nice utility for basic exp farms were you have to kill or finish the monsters yourself.
Early game axe is much better but late game sword is better from the higher dps
@@Psodjakkdmdm392 That's not really true though lol. The sword has one point of higher DPS against some general enemies/mobs. But the Axe melts shields and has more range. Meaning that it is actually better for PVP on Bedrock.
The damage arrows will not work on mobs that are considered undead because they take the opposite effect when hit by a potion so poison gives them regen and insta damage gives them health the insta damage pots are op for pvp but pretty much useless for undead mobs however the opposite potion effect goes both ways and insta health pots and arrows will do extra damage to mobs
This is video is very very useful because it looks like tutorial and actually an enchantment guide very useful and nice video 👍
Glad you like it!
The fishing rod, TNT, and flint and steel = very good
It seems like the bedrock firework crossbow does not work the same. It doesnt seem to work like an impact detonation. Instead it seems to want to go the full flight duration

Actually, about impaling on the trident: it doesn’t work on drowned, as they are classified as undead

One effect tactic i do when using the crossbow is placing down cob webs in front of me as i move back when mobs are chasing or following to attack. Then fire a couple fireworks at em as there slowed down by the webs( i do this tactic mainly as they don't Explode on contact for me. If the mob doesn't notice me i fire a couple fireworks at them at a distance)
I always keep keep sheers with mending to pick em up after and a sword for close encounters or to get Experience to repair any tools, weapons, armor with mending on.
