    Allen Reed's Last Appearance As Fred Flintstone

      Henry Corden sang Fred's vocals; by the end of 1977, he was Fred's voice after Reed's death.

      @@fromthesidelines Henry voiced Loudrock in Dino and Juliet and did Fred's singing in Man called Flintstone and this one so H&B remembered him and asked him to replace Alan as Fred

      He wasnt even that old (69), but a lifetime of smoking did him in.

    So this is Alan Reed's final performance. Wow, what a legend, great Fred to the end. You can actually hear Fred's voice switch actors in this by the way. I guess Alan wasn't able to finish this one :(

      Henry Corden did his singing voice so unless he did some speaking lines as well, I'm pretty sure that Alan did all of his speaking lines.

    • @stevenshockley4237
      @stevenshockley4237 9 месяцев назад +2

      Pretty sure that's right. There's a "spoken" line during the first lil bit where Fred sings for 2 lines. The 2 voices are so different, but they both work for Fred. Nobody can top Alan for me though@stephenholloway6893

    I love old school education films from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Even though I was a kid in the 90s and 2000s I still think they were better then alot of the stuff i saw in school as a kid. Companies and the government used to both chip in and work with big names like The Flintstones to make educational films that were entertaining and educational since it was not only something that could be freely shown in schools but also acted as advertising for certain products or industries. When I was in school we mostly either watched old films from 20+ years ago like this or they were extremely dry, boring purely educational films that had all the entertainment and educational value of watching grass grow.

    2:49 Dino's voice in this special does not sound like Mel Blanc. I think that it was probably the special's director, Gerard H. Baldwin, who voiced him.

      it's an educational film. They were usually fairly low budget, the studios made them at a lowered rate or for nothing as a PR thing or as a tax write off, and the government funded the distribution and production costs. They were mostly meant for younger kids so the information was more generalized then detailed and they often had to cover a wide range of subjects, like those one that covers coal, hydro, solar, and wind energy. They also had to be short to fit on a small reel.
