Get my midnight black 290 on Tuesday and I can’t wait, my 2017 3dr cooper s pops and bangs incredibly loudly for a stock car and on demand but as long as my cupras exhaust with some miles and many heat cycles sounds half as good as the mini il be happy given that I’ve got another 100 bhp to play with 💪🏻👍🏻, awesome video and edit thanks. 🏎💨
I got mine for few months now , 7000km , this car is insanely fast and they way it picks speed in cupra is mind-blowing , question - does shifting a lot during driving ( from comfort to cupra and back ) affect gearbox or engine in longer term ? or they just made for such a hammering ?
Yeah this car is insane! I’m not an espert and i don’t want to tell you anything stupid... i think if you play a lot with drive mods and switching from automatic to manual too many times it’s not good for the engine! But like i said... i’m not an espert🤣 ty for the comment!
Switching driving modes is via an ecu so it is electronic and will put very minimal if any stress on the engine. In term so shifting, unless you down shift aggressively a lot then no damage will occur. Shift away.
I have a midnight black 290 due in September on the new 70 registration, cant wait 😃. Does yours have the gpf filter fitted? I assume so! Beutifull spec. Btw👍🏻
They sound great, just picked up a white 290 and when I rev it out it turns many heads. The only two issues you will have is, a lot of a35's tryna race you (cupra smokes them) & fuel consumption. Ive gone through £120 worth of fuel just this week.
Is the sound now after 4.5k km different to the beginning? Because I have also an Cupra with now 1.5k km and the sound is not as aggressive as yours. So I hope my exhaust will sounds like yours in a few km. Edit: Nice video! Go on!
Yes...not that much, but it was. At that time i removed the middle silencer but that didn't make to much difference from the original. Now if you check out my IG there is a video with new exhaust... straight mid and final check it out ;) Thank you so much my friend!
Got a 2019 Cupra (stock with OPF) too. It’s now got 15000 km, driven pretty hard (always with warm engine) in average. For me the sound improved up to 10-12000 km and is now stable. The exhaust is louder than when the car was new. Pops and DSG farts are especially way louder than before, although they will never reach the level of a non-OPF car. Pretty satisfied by the evolution 😁
I’ve got a 2020 Cupra. Drove it pretty hard from new, and at about 1600miles it suddenly dropped and started to sound just like the one in this video. Seems to be improving as I drive it.
@@SamueleTufano I got mine a week ago. Now I know how the car is like to drive and it's an amazing car!! I have 1 problem with the car to be honest. There is no drama or sense of danger. It's something like that: Me: "Car, turn right" Car: "OK" Me: "shit I'm too fast" Car: "I will take care of that for you" There is no danger or drama in this car. It's pure German car. But I love the car! The design and everything just amazing! I can't wait to finish the break in period and push the car to her limits!
@@hovavrom Yeah It's an amazing car! when i was done with break in and finally can push it to her limit, i was SHOCKED hahaha after 5.5k rpm it kicked you in the ass with her power! you will see ;) VW engine can do amazing things!

@@John_cupra290 nice mate! If you have insta lmk and I'll add you up🤟
So you are saying all this in the video is stock? Never heard a Stock Cupra sound so good or did you do anything with it?
Also got an OPF stock Cupra and yes, sounds quite similar after some kms. So yes, I believe this is stock
