So going from the scrutiny of being a prince, to the scrutiny of being with someone in office is a lateral move, and he'd rather go with the relative safety of what he knows than what he doesn't and still feeling trapped.

Alex and Henry's love story is truly one for the ages. This scene are overflowing with emotions, ngl considering that both actors are brilliant, the emotion was there, the message was conveyed very well that it could make you feel how the book made you feel. Forever grateful for the whole cast and crew for putting Taylor and Nicholas together into the making of these beloved characters.

Taylor started crying during the scene, you hear the tears in his voice, apparently, this was not scripted, and Nicholas got emotional as well. I love how it's not just about Alex declaring his love for Henry but that he is trying to throw a lifeline to save Henry from a half life of loneliness bound by proporiety because Henry will be forced into two options: a loveless marriage to a woman or a lifetime of bachelorhood and loneliness. Alex is the knight rescuing his beloved from the tower of his future closed off cold heart. He's saving Henry from himself. ("Nothing will EVER happen to you.")
Yes! There is actually a deleted scene that talks about this. Alex talks to Henry about never letting anyone fall in love with him, and Henry replies with a story about himself as a young prince in a castle losing his armor, but the heart was kept locked away in the armor, and the king gave him the armor saying "If you always wear this Armor, nothing will ever happen to you" Which makes this scene TRULY hurt more... It's the same with The Cornetto deleted scene too where Alex tries to annoy Henry by saying "you are dealing with a professional" then when they are in Paris Henry says to Alex "You are dealing with a professional as their relationship gets deeper"

Just incredible acting from Taylor and Nichols. Side note, Lope the director stated they had to break for lunch during this scene. He was worried/concerned they wouldn't be able to get back right into it. But as you can they delivered it and he was very pleased they could carry on without missing a beat.

This scene was extremely intense and so beautiful in so many ways made me cry every time. What a beautiful story .I loved the movie and I’ve seen it several times. The actors were superb, and the movie in my opinion was perfectly casted Nicolas Galitzine, and Taylor Zakhar Perez were perfect for the role of Henry and Alex. I watched this movie just before the last call with my ex-boyfriend. I felt too much and I struggled so hard to get over him. I felt like kicking myself for feeling so much. I felt totally uncool to be the emotional one. Then there was Alex. The way he chased Henry,the way he was vulnerable with Henry, changed something in me. He wasn’t afraid to express his vulnerability even though he felt Henry would not return his love. This gave me the courage to feel my pain to the fullest, to embrace my emotions, and to remove the uncoolness from the emotions I was feeling. In a way, Alex validated my emotions. I know he is a fragment of imagination. Alex made feel less alone. I told myself it's okay to love more even if it's not returned equally. I opened up all my emotions with my bf without associating shame or rejection, knowing that he doesn’t feel the same. I was okay that he doesn’t feel the same pain as I feel, about our break-up. I wasn’t afraid of feeling the pain fully. May be my Henry is yet to come.. ☺️

What I love is that they're both talking loudly here, but none of it is aggressive. They're being emotional, but not awful to each other.

I love this movie!!! I have watched it 4 times in 1 day and I cannot stop. The book and the movie are great. The chemistry between Nick and Taylor is off the charts!!! I laughed, I cried. Everytime I watch it I see more details and nuances that I missed. The love making scene was perfection!!! Never seen anything like that before. ❤️

This scene was extremely intense and so beautiful in so many ways made me cry every time. What a beautiful story .I loved the movie and I’ve seen it several times. The actors were superb, and the movie in my opinion was perfectly casted Nicolas Galitzine, and Taylor Zakhar Perez were perfect for the role of Henry and Alex. And I hope this movie influenced its viewers to be yourself never be ashamed of who you were born to be. and there is love out there for everyone you have to truly believe that with all your heart.
I usually don’t like very emotional things like this scene but the actors and the script is portrayed so well that I cannot stop watching this over and over and over. I am being serious, it is one of the best acting and the best lines I’ve heard in cinematic history

I watched this movie just before the last call with my ex-boyfriend. I felt too much and I struggled so hard to get over him. I felt like kicking myself for feeling so much. I felt totally uncool to be the emotional one. Then there was Alex. The way he chased Henry,the way he was vulnerable with Henry, changed something in me. He wasn’t afraid to express his vulnerability even though he felt Henry would not return his love. This gave me the courage to feel my pain to the fullest, to embrace my emotions, and to remove the uncoolness from the emotions I was feeling. In a way, Alex validated my emotions. I know he is a fragment of imagination. Alex made feel less alone. I told myself it's okay to love more even if it's not returned equally. I opened up all my emotions with my bf without associating shame or rejection, knowing that he doesn’t feel the same. I was okay that he doesn’t feel the same pain as I feel, about our break-up. I wasn’t afraid of feeling the pain fully. May be my Henry is yet to come.. ☺️

This scene was heart breaking. I've been on Henry's side and I let that man walk right out. He moved on and met someone really nice and I finally came out of my shell and did the same. I always wondered what would've happened.
