Interesting. Instead of making the face the popular way (starting with a cube, cutting and extruding) the artist makes it part by part. I've never seen that before. That must make really nice edge flow. I'm going to try that technique. Does it rig well? Really great tutorial. It's not too fast and easy to follow.
Thank you, this is really going to help. I was wondering how to keep a consistant orbital face loop around the eyes: you just start with an outline of the eyes then extrude from there!
excellent video thx; It is not for beginners and whiners; to the whiners: would be better that before you read a good book that explains the basics...(it's amazing how there is people asking the same things and are still at the letter A)
Hey if you or someone else could please message me telling me how you are using a reference picture while modeling, and also how you started making the mesh? (If that second question made any sense. .) You just kinda added your own faces and vertices out of no where and that sure seems alot easier than morphing the cube or whatever....thanks it would really be of wonderful help if someone got back to me!!
I have a question; I did like to ask someone expert like you about this: Question: 1) Is Blender better as compare to the others? Such comparison I did like to look over to Live 2D; "Cubism 3", I don't know much about "Euclid"; such are what are the difference between "Cubism 3" & "Euclid". 2) In terms of functionality, Blender is better or Live 2D; "Cubism 3" (or "Euclid"? o.O) is better? 3) Which will you recommend? If it were you; which will you prefer? For me, I am interested in keeping the feelings in the art during form changes (e.g. 2D layers to 3D, etc)
1. Blender is not better or worse than other programs. I do not know what Euclid in comparison with Cubism. 2. I prefer Blender to the unfamiliar program. Why study something that does not require any employer or Studio?
Hey dude, could you please tell me how you managed to make the template image appear? Mine will not. Also, what tool do you use to generate clay with in certain vertices?
people ffs. Anime 3D head models are alien looking because they are missing the hair and coloring on their eyes to make them look anime. So do not judge the model just by its raw look.
huttut holland Thank you! Maybe someday I'll record full lessons (video + audio), but not now. I do not know much theory and not particularly versed in some 3D terms.
I don get it guys, if your gonna make anime characters why not build a base mesh to that proportion? instead of making evrysingle poly from scratch or just sculpt it in zbrush then retopo the thing, this seems like a pain
I can draw and sculpt in real life even sculpt a head with blender but this beginning modeling part I don't real understand how it is done. I try to look at tutorials but they always end up doing something completely different then what my blender does x.x
If someones blender does or doesn't do something, check your version number, and check how recent the video is. They may have a newer/ older version than you, and it's common for settings to get mixed around/ labeled differently. They may also have different plug-ins turned on. Of course all the same plugins come with blender, it's just up to you to use them.
I don't know what you can come up with a solution. I suggest you to read a book on the basics of the program "Blender basic". I just won't be able to help you, not seeing and not knowing what you are doing. Sincerely, Alexandr!
interesting video, don't know a lot about making characters but i get the over all idea. some talking in the video would help some of us to stay focused on the video. even if you weren't talking about what you're doing, like i said, just for focus reasons. video without sound is boring. not that i care. just for you to draw more interest to this video because it is very insightful. thanks for uploading!!!
Yeah I understand that but I don't even know how to get THIS point. When I open Blender they just show me a box and I guess I have to figure it out from there...I'm only 16 so I didn't go to school to know ALL of the mechanisms.
This "lesson" was calculated as the time lapse, and no more. Try to slow down the video settings in the RUclips player. And maybe then you will see do not understand the point.
Guys he you read the description all it says is "Modeling anime character" Not I'm gonna show you how to model an anime character. It's a video of inspiration not your grandmother eatin cookies!
Anime in 3D would probably be easier you do realize? In 3D you move the model in place instead of complex ways of over and over redesigning the same character. But you first have to go through with making the model first, then you shall make a good start :D
FireCrewGAMING the thing is that I'm into 3d for more than 10 years, so don't worry about my knowledge, and they haven't really achieved good looking anime style 3d before 2010, thanks to funny cell shading techniques and ever-changing linear structures depending on the angle you look from (mostly eyes)
I'm not forcing anyone to watch this video. And it's not a tutorial where I explain every button. I often watch the time lapses, because I know the interface and tools programs. And can slow down when there's a weird moment
I recorded the video is not for beginners repeated every action, and for those who have already mastered the program. And he knows which button you can call the command exstrud or the like.
Это офигенно, но меня больше поразило то, как Вы сделали шею - обычно все забывают про мышцы :D

Really great tutorial. It's not too fast and easy to follow.
Lmao that isnt the popular way, especially in blender. Most people model by aligning vertices to an image.
Keenen Wade I've seen some pricks in my life. You sir, are a cactus.
Edit: Also I felt the need to point this out: He's aligning vertices to an image.
Demoman 92 Keenen is referring to making a cube as "popular way" and disagrees with it
This is the easiest and most efficient way to model a mouth, thank you
Not for that. Glad the video is useful.
I like how you started out with the eyes. Very simple and easy to do.
Thank you, this is really going to help. I was wondering how to keep a consistant orbital face loop around the eyes: you just start with an outline of the eyes then extrude from there!
Sekirei!!! love that show man.. I couldn't possibly do what you do I'm just starting out...
I love to watch your modelling videos, but to keep the viewer more interested I would put music in.
Nice tutorial man, thanks. I plan on making Sakura from Cardcaptor: Sakura, so figuring out how to get started is great.
Glad that you liked. Thank you!
каждый раз поражаюсь этой проге. увидел ролик, скачал, сломал мозг..но изучаю, спасибо!
И вам спасибо за отзыв.
wow....when you model it it looks so easy...the maxthat i can do is a box.
Eu amo o aplicativo de 3D que se chama o Blender. Eu gosto de modelagem, texturização, renderização e animação em 3D.
This is really really helpful. Thank you very much for this.
And I really respect your style and skill level. I just wish I knew most of what was going on, it just happens so fast lol great work, though :D
Holly shit! "whata" moster! Awesome! unfuckbelievable!
How did you show the character's face to be so smooth-looking with the planes? mine looks so blocky...
+Magan Ha In the left menu, click the Smooth
how is he creating and cutting faces like that? and how did he extend the faces at 0:10 ? what tools/ hot keys are these?
This is helping me so much, thank you.
Hello, how did you do the vertices? Look as draw o.o
Good video friend.

Image added through Background images. I start modeling the Circle with either Plane, extruded vertex...

No, Blender is not the best program. I don't want to compare it to other, as each program in its own good.
1. Blender is not better or worse than other programs. I do not know what Euclid in comparison with Cubism. 2. I prefer Blender to the unfamiliar program. Why study something that does not require any employer or Studio?
how were you able to view your work from two different angles at the same time? That's what kills me :P
Great video!

+Rozi PCR Video is not accelerated I removed, but sound was not there. I did not write video lesson.
How do you people make it look so easy
Practice and more practice.
wie bekommst du das bild bei blender drauf ich bekomme das nicht hin kann mir einer sagen wie das geht es gibt ja kein tutorial
how do you use the picture while modeling it? ive tried everything but cant find anything about it.
***** The Picture isnt showing up .. Please help me
Crazy Crafter MAKE SURE you are in orthographic mode. Push 5 on the numpad to switch between perspective and orthographic mode!
***** Omg ! Thx it works ! the picture showed up ! thx for the tip :D
No problem! Its easier to model in ortho view also!
***** Do u make a blender tutorials ? because i need help from advance blender user
Might I ask how you uploaded the picture to base the model off of? I cant seem to be able to do anything like that
There's a tutorial that shows how to load a reference to the program ruclips.net/video/KteYFGu_K3A/видео.html
huttut holland Thank you! Maybe someday I'll record full lessons (video + audio), but not now. I do not know much theory and not particularly versed in some 3D terms.
sir, how to make smooth edge without subsurf modifier ?
Hi! Im new to blender. Could you tell me how to use the mirror edit and how to model something like that?
The Mirror modifier is there prntscr.com/ccrmg8 but to explain how to use "Blender basic"
i have a question , what did you do on 1:27 so the dark surface gone
Dark spots, it is inverted normals. Allocate all the polygons of the object (A), and press the key combination Ctr + N
Alexandr Khodanov wow thank you it works, and your tutorial is helpfull!
how did you split the window so you could look at her from 2 angles?
+Darin Anderson prntscr.com/a7hj8a
+Alexandr Khodanov thank you
thank you Alexandr for your reference image.
Musubi :)
i like tsukiumi too
omg you're fantastic
2018?
can you please post the link for this character reference image. thank you. or if you have non time lapping video tutorial for this.
Here references of Misubi rghost.ru/66N9hcXHZ
Do you mind sharing the .blend file? If you still have it, of course.
+Unknow0059 # Unfortunately, or fortunately, I do not give out their models.

one question:
in 0:33 the circle become white when i extrude it , any solutions??
I don't know what you can come up with a solution. I suggest you to read a book on the basics of the program "Blender basic". I just won't be able to help you, not seeing and not knowing what you are doing. Sincerely, Alexandr!
ok no prob thx you

how did you add more vertices at 0:13??
It's extrud, button "E" on the keyboard. I advise you to watch tutorials for beginners.
love the video can u add some audio im still really confused
U need to watch a beginner course for using blender.
Most famous one is donut tutorial in blenderguru channel.
Jenova Izq Thanx!
Final Fantasy Woo!
Oof professional stuff xd
i can't find anything on the internet about how to use all these controls
On the Internet you can find the book "Blender Basics 4th edition".
thanks this looks really usefull
how did you do 0:12? is it extrude? i fail many times
Yes, it Extrude and scaling
oh scaling! it works, thanks!
What the heck is going on? I have Blender 2.6 and everything is so difficult to understand and use.
What's going on here? :) Modeling character.
Yeah I understand that but I don't even know how to get THIS point. When I open Blender they just show me a box and I guess I have to figure it out from there...I'm only 16 so I didn't go to school to know ALL of the mechanisms.
Elezha Hudson See more detailed lessons with a description of tools, more practice, and you will succeed.
Thanks :)
3d is hard.
como fas isso ??
is there any websites that i can hire artists for free(in blender)??
To hire for free? I don't think. But to invite to participate in an interesting project, free of charge, perhaps.
Alexandr Khodanov
ok thanks
quin stones Yes, it's Sekirei
Please how i can get this reference image
Here are the references of Misubi rghost.ru/66N9hcXHZ
Could you do these vids without timelapse?
Why do you need it?
When forming the basic shape of the eye, I am not sure which vertex to pull out
This "lesson" was calculated as the time lapse, and no more. Try to slow down the video settings in the RUclips player. And maybe then you will see do not understand the point.
Difficult time with the mirror modifier as the outline on the left eye is wrong when I mirror it.
I was switching back to the wireframe during the modeling, no additional settings I did.
Does Daniel Kreuter remind you of something? :-)
Over time, and you will have to turn out.
Guys he you read the description all it says is "Modeling anime character" Not I'm gonna show you how to model an anime character. It's a video of inspiration not your grandmother eatin cookies!
VergilthePoet Thanks!
0:25 "it said "operation can not be preformed in edit mode
please help me alex
I don't know what you can do about it
so i should give it up??
What to reject?
but you know,
What do I know? How can I answer a question you do not understand?
Есть ли ещё чего по Sekirei&
Нет, больше по Секирей ничего нет
And that's people why anime isn't 3D :)

Have you seen RWBY?
Coverguy88 Really? I didn't know that. Well, I've only seen Catherine. Catherine is a puzzel anime type game if you were wondering :3
Theres also the Tales series games
in 0:35 is it extrude??
Yes
Extrude is a button "E"

i don't see the point of these. why not just do a proper tutorial?
I'm not forcing anyone to watch this video. And it's not a tutorial where I explain every button. I often watch the time lapses, because I know the interface and tools programs. And can slow down when there's a weird moment
next time do one hundred thousand times faster so i cant see anything what you`re doing -.-
I recorded the video is not for beginners repeated every action, and for those who have already mastered the program. And he knows which button you can call the command exstrud or the like.
WTF is going on?
Can you guys stop uploading videos that don't explain anything. It makes it hard to go through and find the actual tutorials.
