As you were walking through, all I could think of is Wow this place has a lot of potential to come back to full life again. If only I had the money. It could be more than just a home for someone. I envisioned it as a Bread & Breakfast - make it a registered historical home - use those kitchens to the fullest making homemade Bread, jams and jellies for sale to guests and tourists coming to see the place. Nice herb garden outside one of the kitchens, An English Cottage flower garden, with outdoor seating areas, Vegetable garden and fully landscaped to the T. Would be beautiful, with life back in it. Yes I can dream. The woodwork is outstanding and speaks for its time when quality and fineness was admired more so than today except by us few unfortunately. Beautiful location. It has a lot going for it if someone would put the money, time and highest of efforts into bringing it back. Thank you for sharing this exploration.
If you didn't want to have people invading your private life, could see locking a couple doors and rent out the servants' quarters having the renter use the back door. Either split the kitchen or add a kitchenette upstairs. So much potential, so much opportunity, yet doubt ever happen as too many like this.
Honestly the broken windows at the top were more than likely damaged because of a storm. It didn’t really look like anyone had vandalized it or anything, but then again, you never know
Julia Woodling I’m no DIY person, but the thought of tidying the place up, ripping the doors and kitchen up, replacing them with brand new ones. That would make me feel great 👌🏻 there’s a lot that would need doing. I’d happily help put it back in shape!
William Thomas isn't blaming the person whom is making this video of destroying this property, he is just saying why would anyone do so, meaning someone else.
I own and live in a beautiful, 3,500 sq. ft.(not including the bonus room and the garage) Secluded log home (that we named Lucky Star Lodge) that was custom built and custom finished, with, among other things I love, 3 fireplaces, 3 porches, cathedral ceilings, 3 and 1/2 baths, 4 massive bedrooms, slate and hardwood flooring, exposed beams, and a chefs kitchen. I love our home and my family in our home. There is no place I’d rather be than home. It’s my favorite place above all others. But Omg this place is amazing. AMAZING. This is a home and grounds to be appreciated. A true, authentic and ENORMOUS hand cut stone house with amazing grounds, hardwood floors, a built in pipe organ (holy crap), huge kitchens with custom cabinetry and butcher block counters, all that beautiful wood and all those custom touches, arched porticos, window seats, stone and brick wood burning fireplaces (I lost count of how many there are but it’s a lot, and there’s even one in the basement), giant great room with cathedral ceilings, beautiful chandelier, hand cut wood flooring, winding staircase with gorgeous hand made spindle railing, an inside gallery with beautiful stonework, built in benches, cast iron tubs, laundry chutes, exposed beams, built in bookcases and a winding, climbing cement stair path. It’s grounds look expansive and could be beautiful if manicured with flowers planted, and it’s also situated on a lovely coast line. And omg is that an ELEVATOR??? Someone took a lot of care and money to build this home, and it’s really something special; one of a kind. Someone loved this home. Really loved it and made it with love. Like my home, It also has a real country manor estate and hunting lodge feel to it. Right down to the collapsed cooking stove with the steed on it. This home has unlimited potential. It could be amazing if restored properly and authentically to the home’s style and period, and all that beautiful wood restored to a luster. So incredible. Vandalism, especially to a home this beautiful and lovingly made, really sucks. I hope this home gets the owner it deserves someday who can properly restore it to its former glory and a family to live in it and love it for generations.
Pushing aside all of the material distractions listed in your comment this is one of the most disturbing explorations I have viewed here. The appliances and bathroom fixtures are frozen in the early 1950s and therefore this structure is frozen too. There is little trace of life left behind by the previous owner and what little is there is flat. There is no sense of a family bursting with children and energy, no love . . . .just a big dull and empty space, dated by appliances and porcelain fixtures. A fitting testimonial to the old adage: You can't take it with you'.
I wish I had a friend close to where I live, where we could explore abandoned houses, and buildings! No one likes this stuff, but me. All of my friends love progress, and I myself could sit in that house for hours just listening to time slowing down. I guess I'm odd, and always have been. Wouldn't change me for the world! I wish I could do what you do! So lucky
I’m in the same position.. I’ve decided to go by myself, it would have been nice to have someone to go with me but it’s hard to find someone who shares my passion for exploration and ghost hunting.
It's refreshing to see a blessedly silent video for a change. I get weary of watching those juvenile urban explorers who say stupid things and drop the F Bomb every two minutes.
Seeing such gorgeous structures like these in this type of horrendous state makes me want to cry. They keep building cookie cutter homes left and right when spectacular and historical homes like these are left to decay. These homes deserve a second chance at life. Stop building new home after new home and renovate these majestic beauties! Truly sad.
I don't understand why SOMEONE doesn't take this over... and do something with it.. Wish I had the cash- I'd LOVE to-- get away from cities- but still be close--and PEACEFUL.. in that gorgeous place. It'd be a job to keep clean though.. ha.
I would bet you would go broke doing that. It to me looks like someone else did that and ran out of funds. There are several indicators that a rehab had begun (to me) and money dried up. I saw a CAT5 cable (internet) at the built in desk...
Why not get a place like this, do a bare minimum to a bathroom and bedroom, rent them, making funds for the next rooms and so on or gather a few people for a joined project (a big family) to turn it into a holiday retreat?
This is probably one of the best urbex vids I have watched in a long time! You're just strolling through, catching everything on camera, not talking up a storm or slamming things around. It's like I'm right there with you. Been a subscriber for quite a while and love your stuff but this one was great!
You can almost imagine the family that lived there. Society people who had a warm loving home. Servants who enjoyed taking care of the family and their children. When times were simpler and family was everything :)
Cecilia Houston yeah or a soulless greedy businessman with a mistress, an alcoholic wife, spoiled snobs for kids and servants who hated them all...wonder how many exploited immigrants working long hours for pennies worked to build this "warm loving home"?
+Cecilia Houston I definitely feel like old money was involved here Society types it's an excellent description of what I feel. They would have had to have been something like that for the air of this was built. Can't say whether they were nice people or not I would hope. Certainly they would have had a staff
Her Majesty Downton Abbey is a silly unrealistic soap opera, plus the servants in that show are treated pretty darn well. This house looks to date from the 1930s or 40s, possibly even later. That was hardly a time of extreme classism. In fact, extreme classism never really existed in the US anyway.
Why do you assume immigrants built the house? And even if they did, why do you again assume that they worked only for pennies? I doubt you know very much about history, or when waves of immigrants came to the U.S.A. That house was built by very skilled craftsmen, and I bet they got paid very well, immigrants or not!
Wow!! The incredible condition of this place is a testament to the extraordinary craftsmanship that went in to building this place. It’s usually water damage that destroys a place, but I didn’t see any water damage ANYWHERE!!! Quite simply a beautiful place with such potential!!! Thanks for the tour!!!
Just the amount of quality tongue and groove wood alone in that mansion was enough to pay for a home. The masonry looks impeccable. A real master did the stonework. The way it's built, it could easily last another 200 years. It looks like it's been modernized somewhat, but it seems like it's been done well. Rewiring it would pay for another house, too. You would have to bribe the electrical inspector. Lol.
There was also a lot of cheap 60's-70's paneling all over (stuff that was spray painted). It also looks like someone began to renovate the place. I saw a CAT5 cable running inside of the wall at the built in desk and the toilet that had "CAUTION" tape on it. I have seen that for years on projects that I have worked. I think that it was abandoned a second time because funds ran out. I saw newer tools in the basement workshop...
so sad this place is abandoned and it's horrible that places like this cannot keep its original appearance.... can't get old with a peaceful aging. There's always a jerk or jerks that have to destroy beautiful places with no thoughts, conscience, or guilt. all they know is destroy something that should aged beautifully and would be more beautiful if not for those careless people trespassing, bresking windows, destroying besuty... the video was excellent thank you very much for sharing. you're right there were so many beautiful featured areas I can't 👉 one favorite. this place had alot of potential and life to it. if I ever hit the jackpot big enough to restore this place and live that would be a wonderful dream come true to restore it bring it back to its beauty I mean the wood, fireplaces they are gorgeous. the roof, windows, Doors yard, 🛀, & walls... there wasn't really a whole lot of sever damage to the place and I lost count of how many bathrooms there were, not to mention you didn't go into every room so no telling how many more we're still there. beautiful just beautiful
The issue is people can't afford the up keep on something that big. The only way you could do it is if you made it a family home with other grown up siblings and their families as well and you shared the bills and up keep cost. It's large enough they could even have their own living areas.
@@DaaDeeOhAdventures Was it really abandoned though? I noticed a few pieces of construction equipment (looked like a wet saw for cutting tile); Did it seem like someone was making an effort to refurbish it?
The drone sequence at the concluding part of this video is magnificient. Wondering why the owner would abandon this (sleeping) beauty? Simply Magnificient!!!. As Keats said, "A thing of beauty is a joy forever" --- Anbu
@@DaaDeeOhAdventures This is one of the more disturbing explorations I've ever watched anywhere. No trace of life left behind, just a big, dull empty building. The material aspects of the thing are overwhelming, but where is the sense of a family? Children, dogs, chaos and love? Not there. The original owner aged out and died, leaving little, taking nothing.
It's a beauty with special attention made to every last stone put in place when built. Too bad it couldn't be restored into a private resort for weddings and other special events before vandals completely destroy it. Love the velvet curtains, antique fridge, claw foot tub, and sink bays in basement. Nothing like the good ole days. High five
Wow! That's the most gorgeous abandoned rustic mansion in the most perfect setting. Complete privacy. You don't have to worry about "Uncle Earl" spotting you snooping around "Grandmama's" old place ; P. I love the rock steps that lead up to through the forest and the stonework all over the mansion. That would be my dream exploration. I wish we had places like that where I live, but the only mansions within a 100 mile radius of me are occupied. I bet that place was fantastic back in the 1920s-40s. I can picture Clark Gable or Errol Flynn standing out on the side porch smoking a pipe of Sir Walter Raleigh tobacco. I would love to be able to turn back time while standing in front of that mansion just to see how it looked back then.
Wouldn’t it be amazing to win the lottery and be able to invest money. While completely securing the roof which obviously hasn’t done much leaking. Then work on one room at a time until complete. Such a wonderful piece of history waiting for someone to embrace it once again. It looks like it belongs in the UK think of the Beautiful flower gardens to surround and frame it in.
This is the best video of its kind that I've seen. No talking over the footage makes it feel like you're actually in the house exploring yourself. Brilliant! x
I need this house in my life. my kids and I could love all the warmth back into its lovely bones. Beautiful home♡ i couldnt image walking away from it.
Would make for a beautiful orphanage, even! In India the amount of children living on the streets is heart breaking. Even the potential for humanity to rally up concern and use the place instead of letting it wither away😢
Why do people have to have such a colossal house only for it to be left to rot! What a waste! At least 3 modest homes could be built from that one house, meanwhile, there are many homeless people all over the country!
@@hearingeyes9129 The people that owned it last may have inherited it from a wealthy relative and simply couldn't keep it due to all the money that would go into such a property.
@@hearingeyes9129 Vandalism amounts to poor parenting. If I did shit like that when I was a teenager, my old man woulda kicked my ass. He always told me something I never forgot: "Don't be worry if you get in trouble, and the Police show up, start worrying when they leave, and you're home with me!!
@@hearingeyes9129 homeless people aren't homeless for lack of homes, most have mental health and addiction problems which aren't helped simply by giving them a home. This property was bought recently and is being restored
This is a very strange building; I won't say 'house' or 'mansion' because I don't think this was ever meant to be a residence. I don't think it is as old as some folks here have said, but the exterior stonewok is extraordinary. The interior is just bewildering. The custom built-ins have an almost fussy feel, as in: the big coffee pot will go here and will always BE here, and this little room will be for such-and-such and always WILL be. But, as others have noted, the 'upgrades' over time seem to have been made on a stringent budget, by people who did not share or care about the original builders' sensibilities. If I had to guess, I'd say it was a hunting lodge or clubhouse of some kind.
I keep coming back to this one because it's the one I like most. All of it, from the basement to the roof, to the front courtyard, the entire property to the lake, I'd work myself to death to turn that place into something even better than it was, with minimal modernization. And, the laws against vandalism really have to be notched up a lot more.
Meee too! I'd work my fingers to the bone cleaning it...I'm an artsy person and I'm looking at this place like a canvas... lots of fun with Murphy's oil soap😊
I loved all of it, but particularly the basement. I know it creeped you out DaaDeeOh, but I kept imagining it finished and how much fun my teenagers would have down there with friends.
OMG!This house is amazing, the locate is beautiful rich in all the details.Your videos are getting better everyday. Thanks so much for share!!!Lets go share!!!Love your channel !!!
Wow, the stone work is amazing. Also the brick work on the fireplace was freaking perfect.. The fit and finish of woodwork was so awesome. Hard to find good workmanship like that anymore 😕
This house is amazing; what got me was the wind passing by the exterior of the home as if the land itself is at peace. Knowing the history of this home and making sure there are no malignant entities inside this home would make this place a “breath taking” place to raise your family and loved ones. Kudos to the team for this amazing video; I want to buy it too......
New subscriber here. I cannot believe how amazing all that stuff is!! When I do urban exploring for my channel it's never this amazing! I'd be in that house for hours if I was there! Thank you so much for showing us the inside!!!!!
Felt calming peace in front yard wanted to sit on stone wall and listen to the wind for a while. Was looking for the ham radio room. Ceramic or cast iron sinks in basement really nice. The grounds are so so peaceful !
Mason Methot A petition to save it - from what? It’s a wonderful video but the channel has provided no information or any context to where it’s located, who made on it and what is to become of the property. All it takes is a little bit of investigation if he’s worried about disclosing the location I understand that but where the hell is it at? They hinted at Canada or help from a “Canadian“ individual who apparently told them about the property. We need more context in these explores. Without it it’s difficult to imagine further what the possibilities might have been. I think it was some sort of hunting and fishing lodge, frankly. As the videographer went down the stairs in the back, did you notice that there was a wooden board with a wood look like rows and rows of key holders to be hung on there. Could that have been used to hold the keys to each room question mark. Will never know.
your video actually made me dizzy, with all the quick movements and turning this way and that..having said that, I enjoyed the walk through of the mansion. I can just imagine what life would have been like, living in that grand home, in its glory days! Thanks!
I don't get it; they build a beautiful sweeping staircase and then they put a wall in front of it. The staircase should be admired from all of the downstairs rooms. Now I see why boarding up windows is such a good way of preserving the walls and other wood elements. This house should be lived in; what a shame.
Exactly... I thought the same thing. I would remove the arches in front of the beautiful stairway. But that could wait. First remove the vegetation from around the house and repair the windows and frames. Re-roof and the start stripping th interior out and refinish with larger rooms. The bones of the building are solid and just in need of attention. Did you see the view if you removed some of the timber on the lake side? Wow! Must be on an island or it would be totally trashed by now.
The issue is structure. The wall of the wing is supporting the second floor, the second floor stone wall, and the roof. Also could be an issue of shear and lateral forces with such a large opening.
How are you going to remove the arches without the roof collapsing? Then you have the problem of making the new arch match the old in method and material. With the right amount of money, almost anything is possible.
Could be problems with keeping the home warm in winter and cool in summer my brother had a huge living room that was open two floors with a lot of stone work and it was so hard to keep it warm or cool as needed .
The impression I got from this tour is that, perhaps, the family needed to move, likely to some other area for business reasons. Every bit of contents was removed, indicating it was either a planned move, or very thorough relatives vacating the contents for an estate sale, perhaps. The plumbing that remained and was torn out of place indicates copper thieves got in prior to the boardup of the property. My best guess is this land/ property, whichever it is, has been sold to a developer and is in the planning stages. If I could aquire it, for safety reasons, [radon, asbestos, formaldehide and other building material hazards...] it makes more sense to me to get hold of the building plans & base a new building, modernized, with as many design elements from the original, incorporating some awesome modern elements to come to a much more open design that works with the existing site, rather than imposing itself ON the site. Yes, the rear side treeline, if on this land, does need to be selectively thinned and removed to take advantage of that spectacular [potential...] lake and horizon view. In my informed Architectural opinion, the circle drive needs to stay, but just prior to the approach, the garages should be on that side [vs it's current location on the egress side of the drive...] adjacent to the service area Kitchen/pantry/mudroom...] of the design or, perhaps incorporating a drive-thru service entry design element...] If funding allowed, a boathouse seems appropriate at shoreside, leading from an indoor/outdoor inground pool/patio BBQ-kitchenette. Lacking private funding, perhaps the B&B concept would be the best overall solution to save this entire property/ Estate.
It's just so depressing that people would abandon some of these perfectly beautiful homes when there are so many homeless in the world. I would gladly give my apartment up to the homeless to live in one of these mansions!
Absolutely stunning. It's was so well cared for, I was glad to see it wasn't trashed or completely taken by nature or the elements. All the wood and those stone archways, it must have been a wilderness paradise. I wish I had money to buy it and make it a home again.
I thought the video was was good, thumbs up. I think the house was built in the late 30’s to early 40’s. Renovations kept it up to date into the early or even mid 80’s. Like most of the place, I think the foundation has been repaired and fixed from the outside but the original parts were clearly block construction. Some walls were Sheetrock, some were plaster and lath, electrical spanned the eras I mentioned from the round switch’s and few outlets to the jacuzzi tub and the GFI outlet. The curious electronics in the basement are the relays for the elevator. It has all the niceties of a mansion, but it was clearly intended to not appear too opulent. There aren’t any “flourishes” on the exterior and most of the wood looks like maple to me, fancy would have been mahogany or similar especially in the gentlemen’s study (where the small safe was). That room had properly skookum construction of the paneling, but inexpensive wood. I think this house has an interesting story. The basement had some sort of purpose like a business or meeting place...or something. The map and and all the key hooks on the board in the stairwell are curious also. Someone here was “in charge” of something. I didn’t see any signs of the grounds being showy either. The servants were few also, unless there were other buildings for them on the grounds somewhere. The drive didn’t appear to have been bricked or cobbled either. All in all, it a very nice house that says “don’t pay too much attention to me, nothing to see here” when actually there was. I didn’t pick up on any ghost vibes, sometimes I do.
I think it was a hunting or fishing lodge, or summer retreat sort of place, because it seemed to be more outdoorsy style with plenty of room for guests, and upstairs servant quarters...wow. The stone work, wood paneling, and stair cases are just beautiful.
I thought the double front door with the peep holes in each were a bit telling of living with a sense of secrecy... Also, those upstairs, under the eaves storage(?) areas all looked like they were sound proofed... It made me wonder if musicians had used this... Any thoughts??
Wow that was an awesome tour.Makes you wonder why this structure stands all alone and to eventually fall victim from the elements.Keep up the cool finds!!!
What an amazing house. The beautiful stones on the inside and outside just blew me away. The careful placement of the stones fill me with awe. Then there's all that gorgeous wood inside. Even though it's abandoned, it appears to still feel like a home.
A lot of sounds on this one. It might be daadee or if he's got companionship but I've marked out the most obvious ones here. I recommend headphones and max volume to pick them up. I haven't really looked at video only sound. 4:51 Sounds like someone saying "They're empty" 9:18 right after he closes the elevator fence you can hear a faint whisper in the left ear 10:08 you can hear someone blowing lightly on the mic in the right ear 11:57 you can hear a distant dog barking or maybe a scream, I can't quite hear 14:45 sounds like a very faint whisper in the right ear saying "action" or something 17:39 really faint voice whispering "go away" while he's turning towards the corridor 19:36 really hard to hear but sounds like someone's saying "him" or "kim" in the left ear 20:18 Someone saying "thought" or something (very clear) 20:40 inaudible whispering in the right ear 21:38 This must be DaaDee talking. Sounds like "get out" 28:51 Might be DaaDee making a breathing noice but sounds like talking again 30:28 Again a very faint whispering
I was equally freaked out and I didn't even go there irl. Stumbled on the first one by accident and then I started noticing how many there were. The first one made me feel uneasy tbh, so damn clear and freaky and waaay too audible to be a noise coincidence.
I was skeptical at first, but I have very good headphones and I can hear everything you mentioned, except the first one. The “go away” gave me chills. I just came here for the urban exploring, no thanks to the haunted house part!
Simply gorgeous!! All the old beautiful fixtures in the bathrooms! I'd love to have this house!! Thank you for no obnoxious background music... Or the need to point out the obvious to us... "here's some stairs"... "Here's a fireplace"... Ugh! Lol! Great job as usual!! I'll be honest.. I would've never guessed from the picture just how grand this house would be on the inside!
Very refreshing approach to exploring, I'm getting a bit tired of babbling idiots! Thanks for your excellent presentation. Stunning place with so much wasted potential, and fit to house many people happily - group buy?? Greetings from Australia.
This has to be one of the loveliest homes I've seen. The wood, the staircase, the light fixtures, so incredibly amazing. lots of $$$. Beautiful and the stone work. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside.!!!!
The entry is what I imagine as influenced by great Celtic halls. The stonework is magnificent as is the setting. Some parts are obviously old and grand but many interior doors seemed modern and incongruous to the overall feel of the structure. The drill press in the basement appears modern. How in the world did that organ get placed where it was? Can one imagine when the house had life! Surely there must be recorded deeds of property owners. I for one could not leave further research behind...
I have a fascination with castles. I am speechless at such beauty. Thank you for such a great explore. I don't know if I'll get over that stunning staircase!
First of all, I want to say that I am so glad you are not talking. If you don't know the history of it, then don't babble on, like other urban explorers do. Because 99% of the time, they sound like idiots. I watched this the first time on my Roku TV, and I couldn't hear anything creepy, but I also couldn't help but think, dang, there is a story to this, and it's got to be haunted. I lived in a haunted house for ten years, granted, nothing was "scary" but all of my family experienced some weird shit. And I was a skeptic up until having my own experiences, so paranormal stuff intrigues me now. Reading some of the comments that viewers left, were very informative, and I did re-listen to some of these spots and I could definitely hear the EVP's when I had my headphones on. I couldn't spot any 👻🐱
I enjoyed at as well, no creepy music or inane banter but I would have liked to hear their opinion on features in the house. Like how the banister amazed them or wow over windows. Don't need to give opinions on makes or uses just an occasional wow... or ohhhh.. or that is gorgeous! lol
It's a shame this wonderful home has just been left to the eliments. Why do people have to spray pant all the time. At-14:34- someone had to damage that fantastic organ. Why do stuff like that?!
Chris W I found myself hungry for background information Who was the family, Where is the family and What happened to them? My thanks for the information, Patty Fritts,1 PEACE
I also am hungry for the history of this place. I find it very boring just watching you wander from room to room with no background information on the family who lived here and why they left and left this magnificent structure to just strand lonely in the forest and rot!
I can't believe this is abandoned! This is an extraordinary house with such grand craftsmenship - the owners were definitely the elite & wealthy for their time!
This is by far my favorite of all the abandoned mansions/house postings. I imagine when the trees were short the view of the lake must have been amazing!
Thanks for the vid. What a cool place. I would love to explore it. I wonder if you took time to just sit in a room quietly and listen to the house? I bet you could feel the life energy it retains.
Butler's pantry, pass through, servants stairs, grand staircase, elevator, safe, fantastic stone work inside and out, real wood paneling, several fireplaces and bathrooms.
Wow what a massive place. A lot of the paneling looked out of place, like it was from the 60's. It was hard to tell how many bathrooms were in it. One room had a sink. Tub in another room, shower in a different one, wth? One of the bathrooms had a whirlpool tub in it. So odd but great video.
Kim Mckeever, looking at the hardware, the kitchen and club room layouts, as well as the bath fixtures and the arches with the built-ins throughout the place, I think it was built as a country house for an affluent city dweller in the mid- to late- 1930s. The pine paneling and woodwork is age-approriate. A place like this would have been a good weekend getaway and needed staff -- notice the rear stairway that leads directly into the kitchen. For being vacant as long as it appears to be, the only real structural issue I can see is the roof. The mold in the kneewall closets can be fixed -- there appears to be a surprising lack of water damage. Updating the mechanicals could be a bitch, tho
They had electric that modern back then ? And an elevator in their house ? This place is amazing ! You think they have enough bathrooms in there ? Wow never saw so many bathrooms ! What amazes me so much about these abandoned places is there is never any dust or dirt - they are so clean (not counting the trashing that's been done by vandals). but bottles and table tops left behind don't have a speck of dust on them. The main staircase is amazing ! Breathtaking ! The driveway looks well used however.
At 23:10 there is wood with hooks. I believe those hooks were for keys, which indicates this could be a hotel or apartment but most likely a classy bed and breakfast. Just a guess. When I was an apartment manager over 20 years ago, that's exactly what was used to store tenants backup keys. We had to have them on hand in case tenants would lock themselves out or lost their keys.
Then there's the toilet at 20:45 that nobody would have in their home. I've only ever seen those ugly things in schools or businesses. So I really don't think it was someones home. Still trying to figure it out. Thanks for your video, I just subscribed.
Hey guys did anyone check for EVP's on this, I swear I heard a couple of voices that are not supposed to be there. Someone say "What are you doing here", also "How did he get in It's..... (Something I couldn't make out)" Probably Locked or something to that effect..
This envoked so much emotion while watching. I found myself wanting to mow the yard and rip off the window boards and bring some light back to the inside. Such beauty and sadness. I can't imagine leaving this place to rot. The memories this place must hold. Like so many others, I wish I had the means to bring this place back to life. Maybe one day, as a comunity, we could rally together and save this beauty. I would gladly give of my time. Thank you for taking us along on this journey. I appreciate the quiet walk through this home so that we were able to experience our own feelings without the distraction of useless narration. The drone footage at the end was awesome. You did a wonderful job. If anyone has found history or info as to why this place has been left forgotten, I would love to know. Thanks!
Beth Beth - It REALLY IS!!!! The stone, arched doorways, built in bookshelves, etc, etc.... But it would cost a BLOODY FORTUNE to redo!!!! I love the stones
Sounds amazing 😉
If you didn't want to have people invading your private life, could see locking a couple doors and rent out the servants' quarters having the renter use the back door. Either split the kitchen or add a kitchenette upstairs.
So much potential, so much opportunity, yet doubt ever happen as too many like this.
Me too ! If I had that 985 million mega millions that was won in South Carolina, I'd have houses everywhere. Lol. Hey, one can dream.
This is how it should be done. No selfies, no babbling bragging or asinine added music. It's like I was there with you. Kudos 👍👍
What beautiful stone work, creeps even broke the Windows way up high. I hate vandalism ,what a neat place
"you're gonna regret it"...
Where is this place?
Honestly the broken windows at the top were more than likely damaged because of a storm. It didn’t really look like anyone had vandalized it or anything, but then again, you never know
Lorelei Hebdon that’s what I want to know!
This breaks my heart that such a beautiful place is being left to just rot away.
Julia Woodling I’m no DIY person, but the thought of tidying the place up, ripping the doors and kitchen up, replacing them with brand new ones. That would make me feel great 👌🏻 there’s a lot that would need doing. I’d happily help put it back in shape!
It would be a resto candidate for sure, but only for 3% of our population to afford to do it.
That's how the wealthy do things or if they pass its left to a non profit group who doesn't want it
Because of the tools shown in the one room near the beginning of the video, I believe that renovation/ restoration has begun.
@@tonywestbrook6436 The 3% still wouldn't do it because they will be greedy and this will only cost, not bring in money.
Incredible house, why people have to go in and destroy someone else's property I will never understand.
Jealousy.
No ones destroying anything, he’s simply video touring the property.
@empire no one said he was destroying the property 🤔
@@REELMUSIQ1 He already admitted he is a goldfish. But it seems he added it after your revelation.
So lucky

The cut stone construction is absolutely beautiful
I agree. It was the stone that fascinated me, inside and out.
It's refreshing to see a blessedly silent video for a change. I get weary of watching those juvenile urban explorers who say stupid things and drop the F Bomb every two minutes.
+JayveeSonata thanks for saying that...some people seem to take real offece to my style sometimes...nice to hear it appreciated !

Jayvee, agreed. You give me hope.
I'm with you !!!! No respect. They don't have to cuss to get their point across
Same here. After about the 3rd F bomb I turn it off and give a thumbs down. I want to look at history, not get an earfull of toilet contents.
Seeing such gorgeous structures like these in this type of horrendous state makes me want to cry. They keep building cookie cutter homes left and right when spectacular and historical homes like these are left to decay. These homes deserve a second chance at life. Stop building new home after new home and renovate these majestic beauties!
Truly sad.
I love this mansion i wish someone would tell were it is located was well built and what year the history of it boy if only the walls could talk!!!
I don't understand why SOMEONE doesn't take this over... and do something with it.. Wish I had the cash- I'd LOVE to-- get away from cities- but still be close--and PEACEFUL.. in that gorgeous place.
It'd be a job to keep clean though.. ha.
Todays houses are CRAP compared to old places like this one!!
If I had the money to fix this place up, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

It's like I'm right there with you. Been a subscriber for quite a while and love your stuff but this one was great!
You can almost imagine the family that lived there. Society people who had a warm loving home. Servants who enjoyed taking care of the family and their children. When times were simpler and family was everything :)
Cecilia Houston yeah or a soulless greedy businessman with a mistress, an alcoholic wife, spoiled snobs for kids and servants who hated them all...wonder how many exploited immigrants working long hours for pennies worked to build this "warm loving home"?
+Robert Bermudez that's the joy of not knowing who lived in these houses...the story is yours to make ! Thanks for the comment Robert😎
+Cecilia Houston I definitely feel like old money was involved here Society types it's an excellent description of what I feel. They would have had to have been something like that for the air of this was built. Can't say whether they were nice people or not I would hope. Certainly they would have had a staff
Her Majesty
Downton Abbey is a silly unrealistic soap opera, plus the servants in that show are treated pretty darn well.
The wood and stone work in that place...amazing!
+ChadGallivanter at true work of art for sure...bug $$$ to get that quality
The house is still beautiful and elegant.
Lol.
It reminds me of a high ranking government official's mansion, from what I've seen out on the west coast. Meant to last.
Looks like it had some updating around the late 60s or early 70s. Notice it still has a TV intenna. Those haven't been around for more than 30 years.
Reese Daniel I'm not sure that was a TV antenna. It may have been a HAM radio antenna (the beams aren't the right length for VHF. )
The builders did an amazing job for sure
so sad this place is abandoned and it's horrible that places like this cannot keep its original appearance.... can't get old with a peaceful aging.
So sad to see it abandoned. Would be a lovely home
+pat goff I agree !
The issue is people can't afford the up keep on something that big. The only way you could do it is if you made it a family home with other grown up siblings and their families as well and you shared the bills and up keep cost. It's large enough they could even have their own living areas.
It would make a FANTASTIC Bed and Breakfast.
I would love it
@@DaaDeeOhAdventures Was it really abandoned though? I noticed a few pieces of construction equipment (looked like a wet saw for cutting tile); Did it seem like someone was making an effort to refurbish it?
The drone sequence at the concluding part of this video is magnificient. Wondering why the owner would abandon this (sleeping) beauty?
Simply Magnificient!!!. As Keats said, "A thing of beauty is a joy forever"

Reese Daniel i didn't see a side porch
Yesssss!!! Lol.
Wouldn’t it be amazing to win the lottery and be able to invest money. While completely securing the roof which obviously hasn’t done much leaking.

Why do people have to go and destroy anything thats left empty. Why can't they leave it alone?

Beautiful wooden and stone inside, thankyou for sharing also thanks for not talking the quietness just adds to its beauty.

A petition needs to be started to save that place. Cannot let it go to waste!
I heard that it was bought recently
your video actually made me dizzy, with all the quick movements and turning this way and that..having said that, I enjoyed the walk through of the mansion. I can just imagine what life would have been like, living in that grand home, in its glory days! Thanks!
What a beautiful find. Your video is flawless, thanks. I love the silence, it heightens the effect.
My favorite kind of day, cloudy, the wind is blowing and looks like it might rain any moment. It's so calm.
In my informed Architectural opinion, the circle drive needs to stay, but just prior to the approach, the garages should be on that side [vs it's current location on the egress side of the drive...] adjacent to the service area Kitchen/pantry/mudroom...] of the design or, perhaps incorporating a drive-thru service entry design element...]
If funding allowed, a boathouse seems appropriate at shoreside, leading from an indoor/outdoor inground pool/patio BBQ-kitchenette.
Lacking private funding, perhaps the B&B concept would be the best overall solution to save this entire property/ Estate.
I would feel like a queen living there. That house was amazing.

What a beauty... So sad to see it go to waste. Great job! Thanks for sharing the adventure!

A lot of sounds on this one. It might be daadee or if he's got companionship but I've marked out the most obvious ones here. I recommend headphones and max volume to pick them up. I haven't really looked at video only sound.
4:51 Sounds like someone saying "They're empty"
9:18 right after he closes the elevator fence you can hear a faint whisper in the left ear
10:08 you can hear someone blowing lightly on the mic in the right ear
11:57 you can hear a distant dog barking or maybe a scream, I can't quite hear
14:45 sounds like a very faint whisper in the right ear saying "action" or something
17:39 really faint voice whispering "go away" while he's turning towards the corridor
19:36 really hard to hear but sounds like someone's saying "him" or "kim" in the left ear
20:18 Someone saying "thought" or something (very clear)
20:40 inaudible whispering in the right ear
21:38 This must be DaaDee talking. Sounds like "get out"
28:51 Might be DaaDee making a breathing noice but sounds like talking again
30:28 Again a very faint whispering

I was equally freaked out and I didn't even go there irl. Stumbled on the first one by accident and then I started noticing how many there were. The first one made me feel uneasy tbh, so damn clear and freaky and waaay too audible to be a noise coincidence.

Thanks DaaDeeOh I really enjoyed this tour every minute of it.
With a little work, this place could be restored back to its glory days. It's absolutely gorgeous.
I get the sense of only one owner, but I could be wrong. The vibe of the place is frozen in a early 1950s black and white mode.
I couldn't spot any 👻🐱
Verily.
I enjoyed at as well, no creepy music or inane banter but I would have liked to hear their opinion on features in the house. Like how the banister amazed them or wow over windows. Don't need to give opinions on makes or uses just an occasional wow... or ohhhh.. or that is gorgeous! lol
BLAH,BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.............
It is so nice to see you treat each property with respect. And silence is golden. Great job. 👍
It's a shame this wonderful home has just been left to the eliments. Why do people have to spray pant all the time. At-14:34- someone had to damage that fantastic organ. Why do stuff like that?!
What a shame that someone could just leave that once beautiful house to ruins
Why? A great lack of respect!
Really like this, no talking and dumb comments , just the wind and his footsteps , like I as there myself.
Do u know anything about the family that lived there or the history of the house??
Chris W I found myself hungry for background information Who was the family, Where is the family and What happened to them? My thanks for the information, Patty Fritts,1 PEACE
I also am hungry for the history of this place. I find it very boring just watching you wander from room to room with no background information on the family who lived here and why they left and left this magnificent structure to just strand lonely in the forest and rot!
I can't believe this is abandoned! This is an extraordinary house with such grand craftsmenship - the owners were definitely the elite & wealthy for their time!
I didn't get any disembodied voices nor did I see a phantom cat, but this was a great tour! Thanks!
Diehl Elkin Me neither, Diehl! 😔😱lol!
Such a beautiful place ❤️
The exterior and interior appear more late 1920's-mid-1930's.
Very chic...can imagine the cocktail parties and glamourous gowns.
Thanks for bringing us along through that beautiful and intriguing old home.
True, they don't make them like they used to.
love your videos keep them coming you sure know how to explore thanks
Thank you!!!
What a lovely mansion. Thank you for sharing this footage with us.
This place even had its own radio tower. At 2:59, tower and guy lines still intact. Hard for me to see if antennas are still intact.
Does anyone else find these abounded vids relaxing like asmr? The noises and that they make
Would love to know where this is. I want to buy it.
It would be a shame to see this gem go to waste.
+trybal007 oh I could not agree more !!!
Hit me up. trybal at hotmail dot com
Been wanting to go to Burwash for quite some time. I'm just outside of Rosseau. Still want to buy that gem.
Let us know if you do!
yes, please report back, we would love to think that someone who can appreciate it, would buy it and give it new life!
DaaDeeOh's Urban Exploration where is this located?
Someone is traveling through that driveway often or it would be grown like the center that doesn't get touched by tires. Scares me just a little bit.
This place is so beautiful. Needs to be brought back to life .
Crazy when we have so much homelessness.
+Dunning Kruger I know !
I always think that when watching abandoned explores. Such a shame.
The most beautiful abandoned mansion I have ever seen!
I can only imagine how it looked while occupied!
Thank you for sharing this!
:)
Thanks!
Me too willing to know why the owner leave this such a beautiful home.
I want this house. A little work and it would be breath taking
You and me... I love to do restoration on my channel and get views, I am New Zealander 😍
I likes the stairways where they left the lights on and it gradually takes you up!!!
Beautiful place 😍
+Beth Beth it truly was )
Beth Beth - It REALLY IS!!!! The stone, arched doorways, built in bookshelves, etc, etc.... But it would cost a BLOODY FORTUNE to redo!!!! I guess that's why soooooooo MANY of these BEAUTIFUL ESTATES are left in ruins! People don't have the money, or time to fix them to their once AWE INSPIRING GLORY!!!! PITY!!!!
Beth Beth o u. Vb
I love it when you guys explore these mansions!!!!!!
