Just got my 2021 Twin ES DCT and the Dealer/Delivery guy explained the features. Okay.....I can't remember where my keys are most of the time let alone all the display features. GREAT VIDEO! It's a life saver.
Great video. I got stuck on a loose gravel hill this weekend, and could not figure out how to turn off traction control or wheelie control. I googled and nothing was in the AT forums that could help, so I slabbed it back and the hill defeated me while my friends went on. The problem is that it was so steep, the bike cut power as I went up because it thought I was doing a wheelie. Now that I am armed with your video I can turn the electronics off next time that happens. Thanks so much.
Great video. I've watched this a couple of times and if I understand it correctly I find the Power, Engine Braking, Torque control dials counterintuitive. Why is it that 1 blue bar on the power means full power and 3 blue bars on the EB means the most Engine Braking. I would of made it 4 blue bars means full power, 3 blue bars means full engine braking and 8 bars means the most traction control. Or have I got it wrong?
Honda screwed the pooch with the settings and graph indicators. Turning power up to 4 increases it on the graph but is the least power setting, similar for the engine braking. Traction control is the opposite. Completely counter intuitive. I love the bike but the way they designed the settings is crazy.
Yes that confused the fk out of me at first I thought I was on the least power but on full power I think they have put in too much tech but still love the bike 🧐
Very good video clarifying all this mess. Hopefully one day we will get good news from Honda and be able to update it for something more user friendly...
Great job explaining that. Cumbersome would be my kindest description of the ui on this bike. It is the only thing I really don't like about it. The es is pig heavy off road but still a pretty adept pig. And for on road I love the range...man, she has legs!
Great video. Regarding the custom setting on user 1, the good news is that at the very least it sets it to the least intrusive wheelie control and ABS settings. In off-road ABS mode the rear wheel has not ABS I think anyways right?
ABS set to "off road" changes the algorithm for the abs and its certainly less intrusive than the on road setting, change it to on toad then try grabbing the front brake on a slippery surface. You will find out how good your engine crash bars are. 😂
Thanks for the explanation, I find it myself needing to go back and recheck everytime what the settins mean like 1 bar vs 3 bar. Its just terrible Honda could not be more direct with the approach, just say high or low or a circle arrow pointing drirection of high or low etc..🤯
Hi. I just got this bike and have not gone through the menus as of yet. Are you sure that 4 bars is less power and 1 bar is most Brake and zero bars is no traction? This seems oddly backwards.
Hey A4ngy where are you located? I’ve just got the 2020 AT Adventure DCT and would appreciate some tips. This vid is very helpful. Cheers, Geoff (Hobart)
Yes I Believe so I test rode a Manual Base Model prior to buying my ATAS and it was the same ,2020 onwards. There will be more to play with if you have the DCT and the electronic suspension Package
You need to think the other way around. The settings are the amount of electronic interference, so 1 TC means less electronics(less TC) and 6 means more electronics(more TC). The same logic works on the other settings.

Just got my 2022 AT and this video was the most informative and helpful I've come across...thank you

Very comprehensively and clearly explained, thank you.
A quick addition: I have the DCT + electronic suspension version, thus a few icons more, but the configuration pinciple is the same
Nice video, wish you showed the switch gear as you were changing things.
Best explanation of the AT electronics, yet! So much better than what Honda provides.
Many thanks, sir.
I just bought my AT two days ago. I'm still figuring out the controls.

Could not agree more! It is a bit baffling
You are absolutely correct. The choice of numbers for the different settings is counter intuitive and sometimes contradict each other.
Think of it as, the higher the number, the more invasive/involved the computer.
Level 1 has the strongest engine braking. Level 3 has the weakest. It is in the pdf manual!
@@MrMass1234 You beat me to it. David has probably figured it out by now.
Thx! I had some of the settings backwards from where I wanted them, not the most intuitive controls but very effective when you figure it out
Thank you! I couldn’t figure out how to turn off wheelie and traction control. Manual is not very clear. Very helpful

Actually there is a difference between onroad and offroad ABS, so yes, it does change the behaviour.
Great job explaining that.

Great video! I just bought one ,and I'm having a heck of a time figuring it out.
Agree with the below comments. Not very intuitive controls and the manual at it's best is confusing. Tx for the video.
Really useful video, thanks for taking the time go through the different modes.
We’ll explained man, just what I was looking for.
Thanks for the video, give me a lot of help, I just got my AT1100 DCT tree days ago , once again thanks all the away form Portugal/Lisbon
Brilliant video, massive thanks!

Great instruction 😉💪
that is just what I needed, tx

Thank you so much🙏👍
Thank you.
Love the bike, but overly complicated modes. I still haven't figured out how to reset the trip meter
seriously great review!
This is ridiculous! Why the hell are all settings gone after switching off the bike?!
Greetings,
Great video 🇺🇸🍾🎉🇺🇸
How can I change the color of screen?
Keep producing more videos.
Fantastic
Thank you ! 😁
Pretty nice weather were you live (29°C). Also thanks for the great vid.

By looking at this, it seems we have full power, not much engine brake and no traction.
Read the manual. Power and Engine Braking info are on page 141. Torque Control is on page 130.

Thanks
Thank you
Very good , thnx
Can you still do all of this on the basic model?
Yes I Believe so I test rode a Manual Base Model prior to buying my ATAS and it was the same ,2020 onwards. There will be more to play with if you have the DCT and the electronic suspension Package
God knows why Honda set up P and EB as higher number being less….so counter intuitive. I have it written in capital letters in my manual . . .
I’d have to take the manual everywhere with me 😂😂😂
Have it on my phone as PDF in case for same reason!
I still confused with 3 bring the least and 1 bring the highest sometimes!! 😂😂

@@ricardoneto13 yeah it took a bit to get use to. I’m coming from a V-rod to this baby.
Got stuck in sand sat there for 10 minutes trying to turn off traction control because my tire kept bogging down lol! This is bs it doesn't stay off
It has cruise r mode
That’s full power when all boxes are blue
Sorry, no. You have it backwards. Try page141 of your manual.
Erik is right, more blue = tamer (less power, less engine braking, more traction control intervention).
Is it good bike? Yes!
Is it intuitive interface? No!
How many owners guna watch this b4 every ride? 😅😄😃
This is worthless without showing what buttons you are pushing.
I thought I was the only one thinking that. It would have been perfect to do a split screen so we could see what buttons he's pressing.... lol
Avg speed 299 😂
So many electronics just to ride your bike...😔. Ι prefer old school motorcycles
Confusing video.
