It is really cool that you added some text to the screen. It'll be really helpful for beginners. Someone could buy a ukulele today, watch this video and learn two to play two chords without any dead notes.

+Kevin thank you, Kevin! I didn’t think about that... someone could totally learn two chords on their first day of playing with this video alone.
I made this video with my kindergarteners in mind ❤️

It is so helpful to know which fingers to use and sometimes why you use a specific finger -- it is easier to learn the more efficient fingers instead of having to break habits later. Thanks so much for creating these videos.

This is one of the many reason I love your videos, you pay atention to the details and that is so important for us beginners :)

      +un algo ❤️❤️❤️
I have to give all the credit to my students. I teach kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd. My kiddos ask all the right questions and make all the mistakes that I talk about on this channel. I have to go slow for them, but we all end up benefiting from this!

Bernadette Teaches Music Yes definitely, as adults we are so afraid of making mistakes and ask questions and that stop us from learning I think. So thanks to your students, they are helping us all! 😊

Thank you! I almost think that my ukulele really sounds terrible and cheap but I managed to play same sounds along when I learn from your tutorials

For those who struggle like me (oh boy do my fingers hurt in the past couple of weeks learning) : it helps me to really squeeze my finger on the first string and slightly pull the string upwards at the same time. That way, it’s easier for me to not touch at all the second string. Bernadette, may I ask if that can be problematic in any way or if that’s a good idea?
The F chord is my current nemesis (I only know this one, C and Am7 if that’s even counting for a chord 😂), since the minute I learned it because it’s so unforgiving and hard at the same time. It was easier (and less painful) by changing the thumb and hand’s position completely (grabbing the ukulele with the palm, the thumb on top) but then I learned the hard way in your videos that it’s not the way I’m supposed to use it 😭 So I’m back to dead notes, ratttles and other awfulness every other time I strum my F 😔🙈
Thank you for teaching me Am today though! I think it’ll help. 💕

Also, a full review of the Schmidt ukes would be great. You mentioned them briefly in one video, but a thorough review would be very helpful.
What’s weird is many uke RUclips instructors mention them as decent cheaper instruments - but don’t review them...

+HerHealthySelf I love Schmidt instruments!!! I think once my channel is a little bigger they may send me a sample to review 😉

These are currently my favorite chords. What easy songs are there that use these chords together?

Thank you ~ Nice beginner lesson. Felt good to play a couple of chords. I tried my left index finger for "twinkle twinkles little star but it's still a little sore. Maybe in a couple days. Need lots of practice with strumming using my index finger. I keep reverting back to just my thumb. Is this common with your students? 👍

+LilBit AtATime wow! You’re brave to start playing so soon
It is common for my students to strum with the thumb. It really is a matter of taste and style

Can you do a video on good chord progressions for writing songs or somthing along those lines.Im a singer song writer and find it hard write songs on a ukulele after playing guitar and piano for so long and writing mostly sad songs.

Throw in a C chord then you are OK to play my favourite cowboy song, GHOST RIDERS. I know what you are thinking, there is a Dm chord over one word per verse but, if you like continue with Am, sing loud enough and nobody will be any the wiser. Also I think that it is great that you have very nearly achieved 200 more subscribers in the space of a week. You are, obviously, on a roll. hope it continues for you. Having said that I feel excited as I check your subscribers numbers. All of the very best. Ken.
