  • Hello again 😉
We are really going all in on this vampire theme.
I have been busy with preparing more exhibition works, but I am also squeezing out a couple of digital sketches.
I also wanted to talk a bit about my art materials and tools that I am using for my vamps.
    I hope you’ll enjoy !

@@tabuena.fineart thank you!! The one one the left is a lino print and the painting to the right is acrylic on canvas- called Dark Undertow ☺️

As always entertaining and insightful seeing your everyday life and creative process, I've been painting way more recently after getting out of a creative blockage I've suffered most of the summer and maybe subscribing to your channel has helped me in that regard? In any case don't feel ashamed for using cheap brushes, I use the cheapest I can find for my watercolour paintings. Different story with the colour pencils, however, where I always buy Faber-Castell. (any cheaper I find difficult to use)
It's also interesting that most of the vampire paintings seen in this video are a level closer to photorealism in style than your usual ones, and then you finish with your most cartoony-looking piece in a long while.

Am I wrong that your vampires are always nowhere? They're never in their lair, or in a victim's house, or mixed among common people, or some other place just enjoying themselves. Would it enrich the experience to put them in places?

Well, it certainly could create a narrative. But I often like them to stand by themselves ☺️ perhaps at some point I would like to give a little narrative with background and/or situations/interactions.

@@MonicaHeeEun Maybe start small? Many, many years ago I've been to a small Moebius art show, the french cartoonist; some illustrations really struck me because just with the clothing and the equipment some of the characters carried he was able to place them in a science fiction universe which you could try to imagine; in those illustrations there was practically no background, just a single character staring at you.
