My first Mother’s Day celebration at our church @gccph ☺️💝
It was sweet and memorable! Sharing with you some learnings I picked up from our speaker, Sr. Joy.
Parenting Hats:
1- Controlling Hat- (1-12yo) parents should be there to tell them what to do and what not to do.
2- Coaching Hat- (teens) remove the Controlling Hat by this stage or your children will hate you. Parents should give them the freedom to discover themselves. Coaching means to teach or instruct.
3- Consultant Hat- (adult) be there for guidance or assistance. Unless asked, parents should stay in the background.
Pray for your children both in good and bad times.
Commit them to the Lord every single day for day regardless of their age.
And as Pastor Stephen said, there are no perfect moms, God has placed us in a position to be the best mom for the child He has given us.
