I love my Shiba Inu! Best dog ever, especially for anyone that was previously a cat person, as I was. My Shiba died a few months ago, followed by my wife last week. I must now get a new Shiba Inu immediately, if not for my own sanity.
Rich D We rescued our shiba in March and he is 3, in just the few months we have learnt so much and boy he is one stubborn boy but he bring so much joy, and endless laughs. Wishing you all the best!
Unfortunately I was stupid and got my first shiba in the dead of winter, where it gets into the negative temperatures. We didn't go out much, and now he's afraid of everyone, even my roommate who has lived with us for two years. Please, PLEASE socialize your dog early.
I brought my Shiba with me to my parents house at least once a week, along with twice daily walks (before and after work). I didn't do well with training, but we had a great 16 years. Well, maybe 15, that last year was pretty tough.
IT'S NOT TOO LATE! look into counter conditioning and desensitization training. i got a rescue who was kept in her kennel all the time prior to coming to me. she was over excited around dogs and fearful of people to the point where walks were almost impossible. i got her in to training and after a lot of hard work, she got better. she wasn't perfect but she felt more comfortable. confidence is also important when they have those issues so teaching them nose work would also be extremely beneficial! exercise is probably most important! find a place that has minimal to no people around and tire your kid out! this can make training easier.
Also, my dog is very good with Sign Language! She knows “outside” “potty” “eat” “drink” “sit” “no” etc . She also has made up her own signs to tell us that she has to go potty or that she needs something (stretching front legs for potty and biting the air *not barking* for follow) she never barks. (I am not deaf I just enjoy using sign because my parents are) 😁
The native Japanese Spitz breeds including the Shiba Inu have very strong wolf-like instincts and behaviours. One of them is not liking eye contact. For dogs/wolves, looking directly into the eye means confrontation, so naturally they tend to avoid eye contact. This is why it is crucial to start training them as early as possible.
@Christie Woods I got myself a dog pet during the heat of the pandemic,I was nervous too,but now I'm happy and I'm so loving mish my dog pet. You'll be fine. I got mine through an online pet store.
@@petra3336 Goodnews! That's really lovely,I want a dog pet too but I've been so busy and stuck up lately,I guess I'll have to use an online pet store, that will get it delivered to me at my doorstep.
@Christie Woods Not bad I think; I bought two pitbulls too during the lock downs, from an Online pet store, through their sales personnel. I suggest you try buying from an online pet store since you don't have luxury of time to go out and buy one.
Guys please please listen to this video. I love my Akira wouldn't trade her for the world but MAN is she stubborn. If you get a Shiba training is a must. They really are super intelligent and I really would not recommend a Shiba to anyone getting their first dog.
Thanks for stopping by and comment 👍🏻 I would add that if the owner has done enough research and know what he is getting himself into before getting a dog. Also be very firm, consistent and patient you will be successful even it’s your first dog.
@@SuperShiba I love shibas and want them for now very long time, im watching alot of videos and doing research, i will get it when its the right time and when i have time to dedicate, knowledge and resource for a shiba :D
My shiba is my first dog and I couldn’t be happier with him. He is amazing and a lot of work, yet it’s not true it’s impossible to have it as a first dog. We do so well on championships and trainings!
I know a shiba owner that uses metal leashes bc the Shiba chewed through ALL other leashes. As a fellow Shiba owner I could only laugh bc we just opted to find parks where we could let our dog do what it wants. Socialization is hugely important.
Proud owner of a Shiba and I enjoyed saying "yes"...."very true"..."yep, that's a shiba inu"...and laughing throughout this video. :) I have pretty intense moments of eye contact with Yoki. His eyes are diamond shaped when he wants my food and become narrow(like smiling) when greeting me. He is worth all of the work.
Regarding training a Shiba, you have to be assertive and consistent, and you also have to reward desired behavior rather than punishing bad behavior. The Shiba Inu's mindset is "what's in it for me?", and they won't do something if they don't see any point to it. But they learn extremely quickly when given an incentive.
@@munchocrisps There's quite a few people who have had success with them. Thing is, even a well-trained Shiba won't always listen, that's just the nature of the breed, and they're not really a breed that will readily and willingly do tricks for you either. But they're among the best problem solvers not only among domestic dogs but among canines in general, and they're extremely loyal.
I lost my Shiba last October after 15 years by my side .... I miss my Petit Loup every day. This video is really quite excellent and realistic ! Although she forgot to say ....Shibas steal your heart
I got into the breed because of looks and character. I wanted an independent dog that can be fine on his own. I love my boy to death but he's the clingyiest and neediest dog I have ever seen. Unless he gets loose and actively play bows me in order to Chace him he's pretty good.
karen I wasn't cat shaming, I was pointing out that shibes are extremely loyal. Didn't imply that cats were disloyal, their brains just work differently
Although the things you explained are spot-on, you (and most all-about-Shiba-Inu videos) failed to address a VERY important factor about this breed - that they can EASILY become AGGRESSIVE if you don't exercise and train them properly. These dogs don't nip you - they bite. Hard. Hard enough to draw blood. They mean business when they bite. The native Japanese Spitz breeds are VERY DOMINANT and need a good pack leader to keep them stable. These dogs were not bred to follow commands. They were bred to do as their instincts tell them. I like to describe them as "trainable wolves". Here in Japan, Shiba Inus are like the Pitbulls of USA. They cause the most serious biting incidents, the most given up by owners, and the most to be euthanised. In every dog shelter and rescue organisation you see lots of Shiba Inus. They are NOT for everyone, especially people who have not done enough research on dog psychology and proper training.
I may have gotten lucky but my Kira (shiba inu) was very easy to train, praise is a huge part of it . Kira knows when she is good and wants to please our family, each of us and she demands interaction with us all daily. I have had many dogs in my life and I will say without hesitation that Kira is the smartest and possible the best mannered dog I have had the pleasure to live with. We get mobbed at the local pet store by all of the locals and workers that know her by name and just want to be with her even for a few minutes.
Michael Bancroft can I ask how she gets on with other dogs? My dream dog is a shiba inu. I’ve never lived without dogs, and I’ve always had males. (They’ve never been aggressive towards other dogs) But I would love a female shiba. I’ve researched the breed and read that females can be picky and ‘moody’ with other dogs. Can early socialisation prevent this?
@@Bea_678 she is actually very friendly with all animals so far and not dog aggressive. Please remember that dogs are like humans in that they develop personalities so no two will ever be alike. Kira is a female so she would be less likely to be as aggressive as a male.
They are amazing dogs - we have two, with the love and the headaches. That final scene with Jimmy on his back. His two canines are showing, and that means "I love you", or "I love what you are doing." Put ours on their back, rub the belly, or preferably the neck, a canine tooth, usually just one comes out. It's like a snake's fang. Unbelievably intelligent. Once a shibe sets its mind on getting or doing something, it will happen. It might not be immediate, but it will happen. As in, "there is butter on the table, I love butter, I will get butter." Shedding: HORRIBLE. You will get the equivalent of an extra shiba every 3-4 days, every 2-3 in the springtime. Get a good vacuum! We have a dyson, it keeps up, just barely. Absolute loyalty to 1 person. He or she will love every member of its pack, would easily kill for any member were they to be threatened, but loyalty belongs to only one person. Ellie commands me, demands I take her for her afternoon walk, but won't obey my commands the way she obey's my son's. Oh, you forgot the Shiba Scream, well documented on RUclips. Do something the shibe disapproves of, like giving it a bath (they hate water, won't go near it), you will hear a blood curdling scream that sounds like you were slowly twisting the dog's hind leg off and tearing it from it's body. They recover instantly. And finally, they all think they are cats.
Thank you for sharing this. I was the proud companion of a Shiba Inu for 12 years before she passed away. They are beautiful dogs but definitely not for people who think all dogs are like Labradors. You have to put in the time and effort to make these dogs perfect companions. They are wolves in a small dog body.
I love shibas. Unfortunately,I live in an apartment and it wouldn't be fair to the dog not to have a fenced in yard. But,i can watch your handsome little fella on youtube. I want to get a dog very soon and I'm doung a lot of research before i decide on the best fit for me. Ill adopt from a local shelter. Thank you for sharing your beautiful shiba, Jimmy❤
It’s not preferable, but I have a Shiba Inu and I’m currently in an apartment. I moved for graduate school. However, previously I lived in an apartment with an accessible fenced in dog park. Now, I just take my Shiba on two 1hour walks and one 30 minute walk every day. On the weekends I take longer walks if I can!
apartment is fine - lots of walks especially first two years, to build the concept of the apartment is the "den" where the tired dog rests. A yard actually can contribute to lazy owner not stimulating the dog enough - "s/he's in the yard, that's good enough" when really, the yard is too boring. Lots of walks.
We rescued our shiba in March and he is 3, we also live in an apartment with another much bigger dog. We walk 3-4 times a day and just encourage play time when he shows interest in it (the stubbornness means he only plays on his terms 😂). He is actually more attached to our other dog, than she is to him-but it took time to get there. I think with enough walks and dedication to play time they are actually great apartment dogs. Good luck on searching shelters, I hope you find the best companion ❤️
my shibe Apollo just turned 3 last month and he's an absolute angel. This is easily the most realistic and informative video I've seen on raising these stubborn beauts. If you're a prospective shiba owner and you're dedicated to following these steps you'll be just fine!
We recently said good-bye to our loyal Queen Shiba Inu Roxy after 17 years! She was a wonderful fun loving active member of our family! Yes, very intelligent & a bit head-strong. Yes, do socialize & train them in the first year, but she continued learning all her life. She loved soft bedding, squeaky toys, real chicken, rabbit or lamb! She loved to play with all sizes of dogs, loved babies & children & would present herself to be petted by everyone _ so that she could then continue with her walk/ run!
I have a Korean jindo and man let me tell you he’s like a damn human, so intellectual. He understands everything i commend, he was extremely stubborn as a pup and wanted to be dominant in his family.
I assume RUclips thinks you want to watch and you click on my video because you are still curious to see other people's Shiba Inu. Anyways, thanks for stopping by👍
Our Shiba: 45 lb male Went to training during pandemic, not able to socialize due to silly policies Doesn’t like being leash walked, can chew through a harness in 2 seconds Very treat responsive Looks us in the eye a lot Loves to play Loves to do what he wants to do If you are looking to dominate a dog, do not get a Shiba Ours has a fenced yard and loves running around like a mad man Very easy to potty train Very intelligent He is food aggressive with other dogs, even though he was raised around another dog from a puppy He’s now a solo dog as his dog brother passed away at 15 years old Loves to Netflix and chill
My shiba was quite difficult to train at first but now at 2 years old, all the commands are very easy for him to pick up. He’s also extremely friendly with other dogs so that was lucky !
Same....I can see why they are so popular with yt , and the internet....u know people didn't pay any attention to them yrs ago it seems like, or is that me ?
@@chaosdweller I think many years ago shiba inus are not as popular and there was no such thing as shibe. They got more popular once they got more accessible (more breeders around the world). Do you have a shiba?
Very good advice! I have 2 Shiba Inu, they are sisters. Sami (Masami) a Cream and Miko (Miyako) a Black and Tan. My daughter and I spent many hours working with them and took them through 2 obedience classes. We socialized them with other dogs, but they still prefer to just be with each other. We also socialized them with people. I call Sami an attention hog as she will seek attention from anyone. Miko on the other hand is more Shiba like and reserved around strangers. They turned 13 March 1st and they are still active and play with each other. I hope I have many more years with them as they have been the best dogs I have ever had!!
I got my Shiba Inu from a pound in Korea. Unfortunately she wasn’t properly socialized when we got her, and she was already a year old. She is surprisingly obedient to the family, but she still chases and barks at other dogs (especially big dogs; she is really scared of them), and is scared of most other humans... But my family loves her very much, and give her plenty of love every day!
@@jenniferking2243 Definitely! I've been in love with the breed long before I got my pup and I can't imagine my life without one. We also have a 13 yr old Jack Russell and 7 yr old rescue.
It's a very good video about shiba inu. As a two years old shiba owner, I just agree with all of these points. I will just say a shiba have some phases during its first year, especially with socialization. I think he changes his behavior towards other dogs when he is around 10 to 12 months and you have to be very aware of that. It's a critical périod in my point of view. Otherwise, a shiba inu is a very affectionnated dog if you build strong bonds with him. Take him of for walk every day, play with him every day, do not use violence as an educational way. Cheers from France.
Hi Iebourse, welcome and thanks for your in-depth comment. Absolutely like mentioned in the video first year is most critical to built a strong bond with your dog including socialize your Shiba Inu as early as when safe to do so. Although I would say even after the first year it is still important to be patient, firm and consistent when it comes to obedience and behavior training. Appreciate the comment. Cheers from US👋
YES!! there is exactly that!!! - I had no idea this would happen, but managed by pure instinct and some luck to correct my shiba when she did her "teenager" experiment with dog-aggression, and we got it sorted out. A high percentage of other shiba owners over the years in our neighbourhood did not catch that change as their cute puppies grew up, and their dogs are now somewhat to extremely dog-aggressive, which is a shame.
Luckily, my shiba inu has accepted her sister. We recently adopted her, I kinda knew what to look for. My shiba is a male and likes playful , mainly females AND submissive pups. I got a corgi/pitbull mix. She can be a bit too hyper, specially when he’s done playing and wants to be left alone. She is still learning the cues. My shiba inu is currently somewhere in the house while my new pup is cuddling with me. Perfect balance ☯️
Great video, shiba's are the best. I have a 8 month old and she's so funny. While they are fiercely independent it's my experience that if you spend the time to train them from early on and you have a lot of patience, they are just as trainable as other dogs.
pretty good insights. i lost my shiba from an accident as he was being walked by my brother in law. i remember when he would do weird things just like what Jimmy did on the end of the video. shibas are weird dogs but very fun and loving. i'm excited to get my shiba inu puppy when he's ready to go home! for those also getting shiba rescues, it's common for shiba rescues to be skiddish around people they don't know so please be patient with them. they will warm up to you within the month with proper exposure of letting them know you
Yes! I can’t stress enough how important SOCIALIZATION is! It only gets harder to do this as time goes by, so start ASAP! Something to really focus on as an owner if you want to be able to take your shiba around with you!
Ha ha ha. I adopted one eight years old with no socialization or training. He became a fine pet - after four years of intense effort. I've worked with dogs for 55 years and he was one of the most challenging!
My shiba Inu came from a Amish family that left it outside in a cage with his siblings and mom for most of its 8 week life. He didn’t know how to react to the toys we got him, but after patience and lots of playtime outside. He is the best decision I have ever made.
Thanks for making this video. I’ve recently been thinking of getting a shiba inu and having had a cockapoo during childhood i know that getting any breed of dog to socialise with people as early as possible is key to a good relationship.
I love your Shiba Inu videos. I had a Shiba Inu mix, Ivan, as part of my family for the last 13 years. Your description of Shiba Inus is right on! He was very smart and quite the character! Thank you:)
I've only had my Shiba inu for eight months now, but eye contact is definitely big with him. He's very smart and only follows my commands if I have a treat *sigh*. He definitely is unlike any other dog I've encountered and I'd recommend anyone who adopts/purchases one to research the breed thoroughly. He's my dream dog so I can't believe I get to come home to him everyday. Something else I personally believe that could be covered in this video or next would be Body Language. Tail up, Tail down, Ears down, and Ears cocked to the side (I'm sure there is more tells). Assessing your dog's body language and determining your Shiba's mood might be paramount in a situation they might have not encountered before. As my Shiba is quiet and doesn't growl/bark at other dogs or humans, I've had to learn his body language to get him out of a situation that he might not be comfortable with. I believe this topic would be useful for all Shiba inu owners at any age of their dog.
Thanks for the comment. Body language is absolutely important and it takes time and experiences to learn those nuances. Shiba inus are too smart and they just like to "choose" when they want to listen to your command. They are still absolutely adorable though❤
I used to own an Akita (Akita Inu) and the Shiba seems like a smaller version of the Akita! Same temperament, intellect and stubbornness in a smaller package.
Jimmy is so well adjusted to other pups, my 10 yr old female sesame tolerates other pups, but never play, maybe it’s the age. And I mentioned in one of your other videos how my tri-color loves the water trick that you also do, she also plays dead in the same way !!! Your videos are so great, y’all stay safe and healthy !!!
I have the same experience as you! Spent a lot of time with her, trained her, and took her to the park several times a week, and so on. She becomes a famous dog among my families, friends and colleagues, and she knows it!! Also, if I have some complaints, I can negotiate with her. I call that a communication mechanism. I deem that she can understand 3 kinds of languages now.
@@SuperShiba Yes, extremely smart. But need to find out with patience. I think you are sharing something true and really helpful for the hosts. I do not do quite well in some aspects. I will make it up then.
I have owned a shiba inu for the past three years, what you have said is correct but they are lovable dogs and make a wonderful pet if trained properly. I recommend having a back yard so the dog can run around, these are NOT apartment dogs.
I would love to get a Shiba when I am older I have grown up with dogs and I am enjoying researching the breed I am planning on getting a work from home job so I know I will have plenty of time to spend training the puppy and bonding with him or her. this video was super helpful and made me fall in love with the breed even more!
I was lucky that my Shiba I adopted from the humane society was such a good boy in everything he did. What did not help was my parents doing things to either undermine his progress, teach him bad behaviors, or effect his health negatively. I honestly hope that after all the detrimental things they did that they won’t euthanize him Behind my back during the last few years I have with him... assuming he lives long enough to see 15.
Nice video (I would just add a comment about dog park, making sure the other dogs are well socialized too so they don't traumatize your puppy ;) ). Had multiple dogs in my life (also as volunteer and foster in a rescue centre) but first time shiba inu human companion since a year I can definitely agree to this video. Socialize, bond, train, exercise (mental and physical) and work on medical cooperation training (grooming, bath, medication, ...) and do these often and gradually. My 13th month old shiba was the most challenging dog/puppy I encountered, super mega smart, and initially she needed to make her opinion if what you asked her was in her interest or not. Now she's the most cooperative (and not obedient, obedience is such an inappropriate word with dogs, especially with shibas) dog i ever had in my life, best recall ever for tons of running free with focus and attention, very comfortable anywhere with almost anyone (dog, cat, horse and human) and loves crazily her vet. The first few months were tough for me but so worth spending the time and effort (and nerves :D ) every single day !
Thanks so much for sharing. Dog park is really tricky and definitely need to keep a close eye all the time, we had instances where Jimmy almost got attack but I usually is able to stop it before anything happen. Like you mentioned first few months, I would say the first whole year is the most challenging but critical time to develop bond and trust with your puppy and if you put in time and effort it definitely pays off. ❤
Shiba Inus are a very elegant and intelligent breed of dogs, look like a teddy, clever like a fox. But they can be stubborn and have a cat like personality to easily ignore you if it is not to their best interest, which is usually food. There are not too keen on petting or cuddling, very aloof about cuddles, and shed a lot, but they are super clean and easily potty trained...but not really for first time dog owners.
Jennifer King in Japan the Shiba is very a healthy breed and expects 16 to 20 years of life. Tonka (my Shiba) is very healthly, and still looks great, very active and no heath issues. I expect him in that range 16 to 20 years...
Huuuuge thank you! My teenage son is interested in the breed and this is a good information package with both the challenges and the positive outcomes 👌😊 I find independent dogs charming, but giving a dog originally from hunting stock enough stimulation and exercise requires commitment. Still interested though!!
My Shiba-Girl Mochi is 6 month old. She was so relaxed, easy to train and quiet as Baby. Now she is s teen and I have to agree she is VERY hard to train, ignore most commands now and is yelling whenever she dislikes something or would like to grab something. I would say the Shiba-Breed is most like a Child or Cat. Every day is hard now but it's worth it. I love her so much, she is always on my side and love to sleep next to me. It's my little b*tchy baby xD
I 💯 agree with the temperament section of this video! The way that shiba inus look is radically different than the way they actually are. My shiba Thor is still just a kiddo, but I hope he grows up to be as handsome as your Jimmy!
A Shiba (3yo boy) was introduced to me as a first dog because my boyfriend has one. Luckily he trained the Shiba well and him and I are both incredibly stubborn ourselves. I learned everything there is to know, I was used to training cats (stubborn too) and the mothers in my family are all quite the matriarchal Italian mothers. So luckily I can use that to my advantage with training a Shiba because I never get tired and luckily my boyfriend is even more stubborn so I don't overwhelm him. I never get tired training the Shiba. The Shiba is used to know that if I call for something, I do it only twice as clear as I can and if he doesn't react: I WILL come to HIM and make it happen. And if he does do what I want I praise him very much and he gets a chance to earn his favorite treats. And sterilising him helped so incredibly much. Since he got sterilised he finally made new friends!
The stubborn, intelligent dog breeds are very satisfying to train. When you manage to be in charge it feels good, but these kinds of breeds are definitely for either a dedicated first time owner (who takes the time to learn about the breed and work on it), or old hands, who know what they are doing.
Hi Marmar, thanks for the comment. Young puppy go through teething stage where they bite a lot. There are a few things you can try. 1) whenever your puppy bites, you make it sounds like it hurts, this works for me because your puppy would not want to hurt you. 2) Did you make sure you provide plenty of safe chewing toys for your dog? everytime puppy bites direct him to items that he is allowed to chew on and praise him when he is chewing on dog toys or bone. It will be a long journey but stay firm and consistent it will get better eventually. Good luck👍
dunno if she is "shy"? (like, is it a defect that needs to be corrected?) - the husky-type breeds tend to be private/reserved and oriented mostly to their close family. I have never forced my shiba to accept pats from strangers. Instead I educated the people on the breed, and once they know how dignified the breed is, they are pleased to have my shiba honour them with a quick hand-sniff. :)
@Pretty Boy well, I say they are generally a dignified and reserved type of dog, and I always felt that it was better to have that respected and honoured, ie just keep strangers hands off my dog. Not shy or flinching or scared, just like "Hey. Don't touch. Thank you." When they are about 6months old they often do try out dog-aggression/chasing off dogs that get close, and you have to correct that, make sure 6-month old shiba knows you are boss, you make the decision, you evaluate the other dogs. Shiba needs to pay attention to YOU, not the dog, and respect your opinion about other dogs being close by. If you are getting a dog that is older than that, their behaviour to other dogs may be already determined, and if they are set on aggression that is harder but not impossible to push back.
I was lucky enough to have alot of time to spend with my Shiba puppy the first year. The most intelligent dog I've ever encountered. Very endearing. very full of energy. Very deadly to any animal its own size or smaller. Can be very destructive if you don't give them enough stimulation and interaction. Does not come when off leash when outdoors despite training in youth!
Thank you so much for the Video. One of the best i ever saw about Shiba Inu. I’m planing to get one my own but i want to prepare, that i have enough time for him. I have one question please. Does the puppy, like 9 Weeks old, does sleep the hole night, or do have to go out every few hours? Thank you and please make more Videos about your beautiful Jimmy 😍❤️❤️❤️
Hi Anthony, thanks for the comment and welcome to the channel😆👍 When jimmy was much younger (week 8-10) we monitor his water intake closely and remove water 2 hours before sleep. Usually we remove water at around 8 pm and will take him for his last walk 9-9:30pm. He did, however, for a few nights make noise so we need to take him out during the night. It will get better as they age, the first few weeks are not easy. Enjoy the ride and good luck👍
If a Shiba Inu doesn't follow your commands, don't worry. His/her level is simply too high for you, just earn a gym badge or two ;).
I'll just eat him.

is your shiba doing better these days with more socialization?
IT'S NOT TOO LATE! look into counter conditioning and desensitization training.

exercise is probably most important! find a place that has minimal to no people around and tire your kid out! this can make training easier.

@@SuperShiba yeah so true!!
My Shiba did not look me in the eyes until 1.5 years. Great call-out about how important it is to focus on eye contact
Thanks! And yes I think in order to train obedience eye contact is a very important first step.

I know a shiba owner that uses metal leashes bc the Shiba chewed through ALL other leashes. As a fellow Shiba owner I could only laugh bc we just opted to find parks where we could let our dog do what it wants. Socialization is hugely important.
you still need to take your dog for daily walks
Both of u are correct I think...probably get the excersize with the socialization.

@@Kinypshun lol thats funny
Regarding training a Shiba, you have to be assertive and consistent, and you also have to reward desired behavior rather than punishing bad behavior. The Shiba Inu's mindset is "what's in it for me?", and they won't do something if they don't see any point to it. But they learn extremely quickly when given an incentive.
Absolutely focus on reward good behaviors and consistency is key for training success👍
Unfortunately they won’t listen to you anyways whatever you do 😜
@@munchocrisps
There's quite a few people who have had success with them. Thing is, even a well-trained Shiba won't always listen, that's just the nature of the breed, and they're not really a breed that will readily and willingly do tricks for you either. But they're among the best problem solvers not only among domestic dogs but among canines in general, and they're extremely loyal.
Having owned Shiba Inu dogs for about 20 years, I can confirm this is true.

That’s so interesting, thank you for this extra bit of information!
ok
@@KC-nm7mf is this really your tag name?

Kira is a female so she would be less likely to be as aggressive
as a male.
Did you called your dog after Light Yagami?
And finally, they all think they are cats.
very good points
They sound a lot like whippets!
Thank you for sharing this. I was the proud companion of a Shiba Inu for 12 years before she passed away. They are beautiful dogs but definitely not for people who think all dogs are like Labradors. Thank you @Theresa Miller and good luck on finding the right breed for your apartment.👍

Cheers from US👋
@@SuperShiba Sure, it was just to say to not take anything for granted. A shiba is an everyday job but it worth it.
YES!! there is exactly that!!!

Great video. Much wow.
I wanna get a shiba in the future, this video was very helpful! Thank you!

Glad you find it informative👍
are you getting a shiba?
How totally cute is that!
What's your secret with training Mochi? does she have a favorite toy?
Thanks for the detailed comment . Sounds like you and boyfriend both know exactly how to deal with this very cute yet stubborn creature 👍🏻
Really well done and an honest assessment. I lost my petit loup a year ago ...he was 15 and 3 months. I miss him everyday ...

The stubborn, intelligent dog breeds are very satisfying to train. When you manage to be in charge it feels good, but these kinds of breeds are definitely for either a dedicated first time owner (who takes the time to learn about the breed and work on it), or old hands, who know what they are doing.

Good luck👍
My shiba is fighting what do i do?
A male shiba is heavier than me ;
Azalea Manrique do you mean play fighting or an auctual fight
Should i buy Shiba now
or wait for the dip?
Have a six month old shiba love to death, she’s a bit shy to strangers but she is warming up
They grow fast so treasure the time when they are young 👍🏻need to take lots of photos 📸
dunno if she is "shy"?
Great video. I’ve had the joy of having 4 shibas, all lived to 16 or 17. I also breed 4 and they are all 16 now.
That's wonderful. Once you have one Shiba I feel it is hard to get a different breed. They are so unique and loyal if you treat them right.
