Have you tried Vipassana meditation retreat? I'm going to have my second experience in this May, right 1 year after I did my 1st Vipassana in Chiang Mai. By the way, this time, I'll try out another ancient temple in Chiang Mai. Can't wait 🙂

thank you! I just came from my second vipassana in the same meditation centre (although I wanted to go to different one, it was impossible), and I can tell you, the experience felt very different. This time it was harder 😱
I will definitely make a video as soon as I come back to my normal life

Thanks for the tips! I am Currently in Chiang Mai and thinking about doing it. I've got two questions: Do you hand them over your phone at the beginning of the stay or do you keep it with you? (I would actually appreciate to get the phone away from me haha) and second: Did you donate? And if yes, how much is common? I am very unsure how much I would donate.. but I think they deserve a donation for sure if I stay there.

Hi! Nice to hear that you're going to Vipassana in Chiang Mai as well. Actually, I didn't have to give my phone away. But maybe you can ask for safeguarding. Just don't forget to bring an alarm clock with you in that case.
Answering the second question, yep, I donated. I don't remember what was exact amount, but I think around $100-150 for 10 days.

@@IKIYOGA Thanks for the tips. I actually met someone that told me about a meditation retreat called Pa Pae Meditation Retreat (around 1.5h away from Chiang Mai). I am currently here & can recommend it :)

What are the minimum costs for such a meditation course?
    Thank you 🙏

It's free; nobody asked me for anything at the Doi Suthep Meditation Centre. They didn't even mention that I could donate. I made a donation anyway at the end of my stay because I wanted to.
This year, in a week, I'm going to another meditation centre where they ask for 220 baht per day of stay, which is like 6 dollars per day.

Can you don't go for dhamma talks and chanting? Can you meditate in the room instead in the hall?

@@marynarkw as for me dhamma talks are extremely valuable, it’s my favorite part of the day. You can skip a couple of them as well as chanting, but you cannot cancel them completely from your experience. Yes, you can meditate in the room.
I did it sometimes but for me it’s harder as I don’t feel so motivated and get sleepy easily.
