This is the tragic story of Loki, a man who simply wanted to help the world out by ruling it. Now, this seems like a bad thing, but there was too much chaos at the time due to freedom, and he kindly stepped in to alleviate that problem. At the same time, Samuel l. Jackson didn't like how spear and followed him around the world to attempt to get him to put it down, all the while William Shakespeare trying to let him know that he was wearing his mother's drapes, hoping that he would correct his fashion faux pas. In the end, it was all for naught, because the jolly green giant proceeded to beat the crap out of Loki, causing him to musically wimper.

He forgot how normal he actually is, because everyone treated him differently. But really, he’s just lashing out, and there will always be people who do, and there always have been. He’s not alone, and he’s not different or special. Anyone might feel the same way.
The old man was less about trying to make Loki feel less special and more that he's not going to stand down to regimes like him which he had faced before in Germany.
