Yes, they are singing live, but they have backtracks to help them, except suzuka tho she sings everything herself on most of their live performances. Shes insane

I haven't heard a lot of live performances by them, but I know for sure I have heard backing tracks for Suzuka as well in one of them (and auto-tune for all of them as well, but not a large amount and I don't think they used it in this one).
I am not taking anything away from them though, most Idol groups use backing tracks and auto-tune (or they don't even sing live and just mime) and Atarashii Gakko moves/dances way more than most of them do, but my ear picked up some backing stuff in other performances (I believe it was a huge festival stage if I remember correctly). So yes, I assume they are singing live over a backing track with some auto-tune help along the way (maybe only in some settings), but again nothing but praise for what they do because it can't be easy.
They are able to get me to watch their videos even though I am not a huge J-Pop or Idol fan (at all) and am typically not someome who seeks out a lot of dancing videos (sorry Xiaouiris), but they make me come back to watch videos like this one.

This was a live showcase they did, they are singing live to a backing track. I'm not sure how much post production there is. They are all trained dancers from an early age. Mizyu was a backup dancer with Kyary Pamyu Pamyu when she was 11 or 12 and toured with her for a couple of years. At 24 years old she's also the oldest in the group by 3 or 4 years and has said she's quite serious behind the scenes and will sometimes take the lead in interviews. Mizyu has been with Asobisystem since the age of 12 and they brought the other 3 in to join her and create AG, so I think in some ways she's still the senior member, although she's stepped back a bit in performance given Suzuka's powerful voice and stage personality. Rin's music background is in hip-hop and dance wise she specializes in popping, she has a separate gig as a DJ.
AG are great in concert and I recommend you react to this performance of "Mayoeba Toutoshi" (means something like "if doubtful still respect yourself") which is often their closing song. The voices are breaking a little with the effort, but they are all in and there's some great key changes in the breakdown and watch out for the "headobang".

Ah, Mizyu being the most serious makes sense after watching her right shoe break and come halfway off, causing her to go into split in the middle of a show. She grabbed the shoe and slammed it into the stage in front of her. Went right back to dancing, and finished the show with only one shoe on. Her sock was wrecked by the end. 🧦

@@TehPhysics What performance was that? She lost a shoe once before in the "Negative Fighter" dance video.

    • @TehPhysics
      @TehPhysics Год назад +1

@@cuttysark8017 It was from 4 or 5 days ago. She posted about it on her Instagram. I think the split/fall shoe throw video was recommended to me from one of the AG fan accounts. Can't remember which one.

@@TehPhysics The video of her slip is on tiktok. She loses her footing, the shoe comes half off and she sits down at the front of the stage before getting up and throwing the shoe onto the grass in front of the stage...and then gets back into the dance. It was at the "Join Alive" festival.

Watch them do a full live performance. They are amazing in terms of their breath control with all the performance aspects happening during their okyju-ji

You made the right choice for sure picking this performance. It's one of my two favorite AG performances, and Rin is the standout. Her solo gives me chills every time. Great reaction!

Here's another recommendation to see a different softer side of AG. It's one of Mizyu's solos and is a smooth jazz song called "A Kiss on a Rainy Night" or "Amayo no Seppun"

Great video. You should react to “okami no uta” by them. I would say it’s their best song and the choreography is one of their best. You should do the live one as it shows their moved better. 👍🏽

I quite like AG's early songs (before they went overseas). It was not recorded on its albums so far. But it finally seems to be included in the latest album, 'Ma Ningen (Human)' (WTH?! meaning, hahaha), that is going to release in August.
It is accurate that the pronunciation and meaning of your song title. The Kanji, '文' is originally pronounced ’fumi' in this case, but when connecting it to 'Koi-Fumi', the pronunciation at the beginning of the word becomes muddled and the word is pronounced 'bumi'. It means love letters as you said, but it's a slightly old-fashioned way of saying it, I believe. Among the Japanese, the English pronunciation is Japaneseised to say often 'rabu reta' (love letter).
Who is the name you want to know? It is Kanon, the girl with straight hair. And Rin, with curly short hair in that video. Rin often changes her hair.
The song expresses the feelings of a girl in love, but in my opinion, it expresses a bit of madness and it is funny and so good, 'Kaite, kaite keshite, mata kaite, mo ichido' (write it, write it, erase it again, and write it again) at 0:43. At 4:29, it also has chorus in English.
    Thank you from Japan!

Hope you can also react to Bini. Most of their choreographies are visually satisfying. Everything about them is polished, their styling, their songs, their image, their performances. They dance so clean.

Rin’s dance solo looks similar to the ‘The Dying Swan’ performed by a breakdancer from Brazil in a dance reality show.

Great video. It would have been nice if you viewed this live performance along side the dance practice for this song. The dance practices always provide a cleaner version of the choreography without the camera cuts that you often get during the live performances.

I've watched a gajjilion of their live performances, and I've only heard them run out of breath and get shaky a handful of times. Each of those times, the venues looked like there were really, really hot. Like outdoors in direct sunlight or cramped venues with poor ventilation. Plus they ALWAYS wear the uniforms with long sleeves. I don't know how they do it. I go crazy in a hoodie.

Rin does a lot of hip hop and street dancing. Ngl, some of TikTok thinks she’s Blasian because of how much she embraces the culture. I mean, in their intros on TikTok, she said her mom loved hip hop and she was listening to it since she was in the womb.

So you're wondering how they can sing so solid why doing all the choreo. Personally i wonder how Kano and Mizyu can see anything? Everytime i see a live version they are jumping and swaying around and it's got to be a huge challenge for them. At least Mizyu has some of it tided up but Kano's just goes crazy sometimes.

I'd like to get you opinion on a tiny bit of this AG short. Mizyu is presenting a small gift of socks to a very famous Japanese singer called Akiko Wada. She does the usual Japanese etiquette and then throws in a very un-Japanese and unexpected little curtsy. I think she is doing a "reverence" that she picked up from dance classes to show just how much she respects Akiko and I think she does it automatically as it seems so incidental. Anyway what do you think? Is this Mizyu being a total dance nerd?

That was Rin at the front on the left. It's nice to see them all sing. Notice that when the other 3 sing they stop dancing. Not used to singing and dancing I guess. So I think they're singing live but it is post produced.
