    I just picked one up at Good Will- Brand New for 9 bucks! I imagine it was purchased for the bread baking craze of Covid- but who ever bought it lost interest fast. My gain!

    Thank you very much for this info. You did convince me to purchase this product for my wife. Needless to say she is very pleased and can bake and experiment with sourdough now.🙏

    This product is amazing. Easy to use and store. Uses very little energy. Can be brought to camp or traveling with ease. Slowcooker, proofer, and yogurt maker. Very glad I purchased.

    I have had this proofer for 6 years and it has been awesome. Also excellent for making bulk yogurt, as you can fit 6, 1-quart Mason jars in it.

    Great video! I just watched this as I'm setting mine up for the first time. I'm on day 3/7 of my Neapolitan Sourdough Pizza starter. This thing is a breeze to setup, use, store, and is efficient! I cannot wait to see how my dough rises through this box. The simplest of features, like a collapsible container and a window on the lid makes all the difference to me. 10/10

    I've just ordered mine after thinking about it for ages. I hope it will take the hit and miss out of making sourdough. I'll be living in quite a cold climate location next year - I may need to put my starter in it also from time to time! Very good review - thanks.

    Is there plenty of room between the 2 racks to make it easy to remove the breads that have been proofing?

    I am going to make one of my own, Yes fold able very god. A poor mans version.. a cooling box from a garage sale + an aquarium heater $ 15. Using my thermometer from the bbcue. Put the heater 50W in some water and you get both moisture and heat.

    • @tlynn7043
      @tlynn7043 10 месяцев назад

      Nice but this folds compactly and stores. I’ve read every way possible to rig something to get heat and humidity and I don’t want store a lot of bulky stuff. This is perfect.

    New to bread baking. I've never used one of these. Does it matter what your room temp is? I live in a really warm climate.

    • @NorthwestSourdough
      @NorthwestSourdough  9 лет назад +2

      ***** Unfortunately, it only allows for warmer temperatures, not temperature controls. You can set the temperature you want but it won't cool it down. So it is a warming box really. You probably need a temperature control box, to cool your dough down a bit. I wish they made one of those!

    how long should sourdough take to proof in the proofer at 80 f regards roger.

    • @larsroth826
      @larsroth826 4 года назад +1

      Do you mean sour dough or sour dough starter? I find that the starters development does very well in an 80+ temperature
      But when it comes to the actual dough at least I prefer it to develop much slower and in lower temperature, but maybe that is just me?

    My first thought is, this doesn't seem like it would produce enough humidity to keep the surface of the dough drying out.

    • @capyboppy
      @capyboppy 3 года назад

      I believe from what I have read, there is an optional humidity button on it.

      You're both right, but the problem is that this thing costs more than it's worth. Because it is cheaply made it should cost much less... you're being ripped off
