Good video. I am just wondering if you deliberately skipped over an apparent bug in the NXCub G3X or if I might just be confused? When you were demonstrating how to set/switch the comm/nav radio frequencies, I did not see you successfully transfer those frequencies from standby to active. I know that I am NOT able to do this on my NXCub - a bug for me. It does work correctly in the basic X-Cub, however. I did submit a bug report to the Zen Desk, but to date have not heard back, so it's possible it's just me...
Love the avionics videos! Can we get a video on high performance aircraft and how to manage speed in them? I seem to be struggling a lot with understanding how to slow any of the high performance aircraft down for landing. I'll pull my throttle to idle and still be going way too quick for landing.
@ usually cant get slow enough to drop flaps. Have to heavily nose up while also fighting the insane winds. The I eventually get slow enough to drop to landing configuration. However I STILL manage to get way too fast while on glideslope. I flew the bonanza all the time in 2020 but 2024 something feels way off and I can’t put my finger on it.
This video was useful to me. Am I correct in thinking this is what the Savage Norden has? If so, you have answered one of the questions I’ve had about that plane. Namely, why it has a working “arm autopilot” switch, but no autopilot panel that I could find. This unit doesn’t really need a separate autopilot panel because you can touch the autopilot display at the top of the PFD to bring up the autopilot controls and manage everything via touch screen and the knobs on the unit itself. They probably did it that way on the Norden to save weight, I’m guessing.
To follow up, I just flew the Norden tonight, and it *does* have these avionics! Fully functional autopilot, accessed via touchscreen. I like that plane now, even more than I already did. Thank you again for showing how to use this!
Your Garmin avionics videos are fantastic!! I find them quite informative and helpful. Thank you!
Helpful as always, thank you! appreciate how you distinguish between how things would be in the real world in comparison.
Awesome, thanks for this
